Wurider05
Man it appears that he get's lost in all the Hawk talk these days. I am looking for him to have a good year. He is only 22 and his numbers are very similar to Bogdan's. He needs to get that field goal percentage up to 45% though. We keep forgetting and overlooking his potential. There is a reason why he was the Hawk that most teams were calling about. https://www.nba.com/stats/vs/#!/?PlayerID=1628989&VsPlayerID=203992&sort=DREB&dir=1 3

Yes, he's going to lose some minutes but Bogi is the guy we hope Huerter develops into in a few years. Being able to watch Bogi and learn from him will only speed up his development, not slow it down.
hawkzlova123
.. no onez sleeping on him. He's horrible. Name me one time in the history of the nba a redhead became superstar? Odds are stacked against him Note: I love red hair

Premium Member BangHolman Posted December 11, 2020 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 11, 2020 Yes and no. I think Kev is a good, young player, and there's a reason that we didn't trade him. However, he's strictly a 2 while Cam and Hunter are multi-positional. The Bogi signing will most likely affect his minutes the most.
Gray Mule
I agree 100%. Notice, other NBA teams, when asking about a trade with Atlanta, began their sales pitch, "You give us Huerter and __________ for our player." Everyone wanted us to trade with them and throw in Kevin just to make the deal work. I know, the old man is a homer. All the Hawk players are great. Yep. Guilty, as charged. I'm a believer in our only red head. Evidently, most NBA teams agree. They want him for their team... Some of the best trades are the ones that didn't happen! See, we still have Kevin Huerter!!
Cwell
I wish......but nah bruh. Hopefully he gets to play his true role this year though. Having him start playing 30 minutes is not him
Popular Post RedDawg#8
I think the Bogi signing probably helps Kev the most. Bogi is exactly the kind of player we all envisioned Kev developing in to. Similar size, same skillsets, Bogi is just more aggressive and competitive with it. Hopefully Kev can see himself and come out of his shell more in year 3.
RedDawg#8
Adding Bogi and Mays was not a good sign for Kev long term. He is extremely expendable now. I think him being rumored in so many trades was less about how much teams wanted him specifically and more about us making everyone else untouchable. I believe the FO likes Kev but has a decent idea of his ceiling/limit, and its the lowest of all the core.
Admin capstone21 Posted December 11, 2020 Admin Report Share Posted December 11, 2020 I see Cam also getting some minutes at the 2 as will Dunn. Kev could end up with the short end of the stick ... its what happens when you now have so much depth
Moderators Popular Post macdaddy Posted December 11, 2020 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted December 11, 2020 I think we're totally sleeping on the fact that LP likes Heurter. I love Cam and Hunter but as we start playing to win coaches pay more attention to consistency vs potential.
Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted December 11, 2020 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 11, 2020 I had some pretty high hopes after his rookie season but he didn't really progress very much his sophomore year. He is an absolute seave on defense and for a "sharpshooter" he seems to lack confidence in his shot at times passing up or hesitating open shots that no three point specialist should ever pass up. He could certainly improve and become a valuable rotational piece but I'm not holding my breath. Bogi is already a much better version of Heurter and we have him locked up for a few years so not sweating it either way.
Buzzard
I think Huerter has a chance to still get 30 minutes a game. Of Reddish, Hunter, and Huerter only one has to take a big hit. Two of those three can still get 30 minutes a game. Training camp should be pretty intense for that one starting position and 6th man spot. txsting
It's going to be tough for him with Bogdan chewing up 30 minutes a night at SG. Hopefully he can learn from BB....the thing he's going to see is that BB can score at all three levels, and be a playmaker as well. If Red Velvet wants to take it to the next level, BB is a good model.
Moderators macdaddy Posted December 11, 2020 Moderators Report Share Posted December 11, 2020 It's a weird season. Guys are going to miss games, schedule is compressed. Rotations will probably be fluid.
gHost83
The difference between what Bogi and Huerter offer offensively is similar. I think Huerter is more physically talented actually. Bogi actually can create while Huerter is still learning how to consistently do that on at nightly basis. Both are terrific shooters. The main difference here is confidence and DEFENSE. Bogi may not be the best defender in the world but he is more than competent for the position. Huerter is terrible defensively and is almost impossible to have both Trae and Huerter on the floor simultaneously. This combo is one of the main reasons why we were the worst defensive team in the league last year. Also, being a younger player, his confidence isn't on the level of Bogi's yet. Have y'all heard Bogi's initial interview? The dude bleeds confidence. I think being in this position is actually good for Huerter. He doesn't have to feel the pressure of starting while being able to run a second unit that won't have as many major defensive holes as last years starting unit. I can see Dunn and Huerter playing together a lot covering for each others deficiencies quite well. Big O and an improved Hunter will also help. We are lucky to have dude but I'm also glad we grabbed Bogi to start. This could turn out to be a win win. 1
