This is likely news to no one but teams aren't interested in trading a top 3 pick this year. Any trade Atlanta will make will be top 3 protected is what teams expect if traded for a pick.

Trading Collins for a pick would be a mistake.

I've said before that Young can't be your best all around player but I'm really not sure what you could even do that'd make a difference. The best case scenario that I can even think of would be that Hunter continues his progress and ends up filling that role.

I really don't think a playmaking PF is that necessary. If Hunter were on the floor, the starting frontcourt would be quite good at least to me.

Both LA teams could use him hopefully..But what are we getting in the deal? 

Zubac alone or Mann and pick from Clippers or THT and a pick from Lakers would be nice..lol

Yea I don't see us getting anything for John that is better than John. If we trade him for a first we would still need tremendous luck in order for that player to be as good or better than Collins. If we sign Collins, and we assume we'll sign Young, Hunter to equally big deals than de downside is we won't be able to add expensive free agents ever during our "big" three prime. Question then may seem to be; can a core of Hunter, Collins, Trae win a championship?... well who knows. I think the real question should be, will the Hawks, if they move on from Collins be able to lure a big money free agent that is better than Collins? And I think we all know the answer to that. Like I said, this reminds me of the Gobert situation in Utah. Yes, they overpaid the ever living crap out of him and most people panned the move. But if they hadn't who would they have brought in with that money? Nobody.
