Official Game Thread: Hawks at Nets (Game 1 of 2)

Seeing a dramatic improvement with our second unit.  We are attacking offensively all game.

I didn’t like that last shot bogi took. He wasn’t open and you could tell guys were mad at that attempt. Gotta clean up these mistakes heading into Friday.

Bogie was probably tired of not getting looks the entire 4th quarter after being on fire the entire game. Trae is going to have to learn to use Bogie. He is working way better with Rondo currently.

John earned some coins tonight.  Man what a game from him.  That's the John I want to see. 

Trae was Trae.  His three is off, but when it gets going he'll drop 40 easily.

BOGI - Some here said we didn't need him and now they have been quiet.  Not calling any names, but you know, patients is key.

Cam had a good game. 20 pts and great defense.  Hunter had a good game too.  They were giving Kyrie the business in the first half, but he's a star and showed why in the forth.

Huerter had a quiet game. Rondo was a good backup.

Our starters actually had a great plus minus.  When Gallo went out the game changed.   Hope we get him back soon. 

Coach said they know they can beat this team! I love it.

Brooklyn is an elite offensive team, there is no one to really hide him on when they put Levert in the game. That said, there were too many times Trae started off on LC and ended up on Harris which ended up being a joke.

No Gallo isn't going to help with the def but when we go cold for a few possessions he'll be there waiting to bang those off ball 3s

I just want to let everyone know that Luka is an awful 3 point shooter. He is making Josh Smith look like Reggie Miller recently.

Rondo is a floor general. Trae is improving game by game as a floor general but he's a work in progress

Not true.  Trae wasn't in for 4 minutes at the  beginning of the fourth quarter.  Bogi went to the bench when Trae came in.  Bogi was shooting in the beginning. WTH were you watching?

It's all good. Great game. We win if Kyrie doesn't take out Gallo. We are gonna be better defensively with Big O and Dunn eventually joining the team. We got our shots off. Ton of easy looks. Cam was a pest even tho KD had 33. Hunter solid.

Trae didn't have his shot after getting hit in the head but still dropped 30. Collins looked great. Need that effort every night. Best offensive team in the East and it took everything they had to hold us off at home. 

It's a loss but extremely encouraging. We have 2 defensive guys waiting in the wings in Big O and Dunn. Throw Dunn on Kyrie and play the angles and this can be a different outcome...  Proud of this L if that makes sense.

Gotta work out some flaws, figure things out as the season goes.

That Hawks team though is, IMO, the 2nd or 3rd best team in the entire conference. Or definitely top 4. They’re THAT good. Better than Philly/Boston/Toronto. Right on par with Milwaukee and Miami and Brooklyn IMO.

So understandable that it was that close

Bogi entered with 5 minutes left in the 4th. Bogi barely received any looks from Trae.

KD wasn't killing Cam. He was killing Kevin and Bogi tho.

Trae does a lot of dribbling, and more often than not he gets fouled, takes a shot or finds a big on a lob. But there might be times when he should let other guys cook when they are hot, like Bogi or Gallo. It's not something he used to doing quite frankly.
