Capela was outstanding tonight.  That was the Capela of 4 years ago.

If we're playing defense going small like we did tonight, I pretty much can't complain about Bruno not getting any time.  But he will be needed vs the bigger, more bruising centers.  When Gallinari comes back, LP will probably play Gallo some at the 5, and Solo at the 3.  

Solo is definitely the new Vince.

I was afraid that was going to happen. It's obvious he's getting "Vince minutes" so far this season. Once we get Okongwu and Gallinari back that should change. I'd still prefer to see Bruno get more than two minutes on the court though. That's not enough to help his confidence or development.

KD/Kyrie played 37/33 mins.  Trae played 32, Cam/Dre 31, Cap 29, JC 25.  Our game was planned much better, and our depth played and looked better than theirs, even with us missing 4-5 rotation pieces.

The Nets were crowding the paint, so we needed Solomon's spacing which is why Bruno didn't play as much.  When we play bigger teams, Bruno will get more minutes.

As long as Hill is making positive contributions and we are winning, I'm ok with it. Twice tonight I saw him directing and moving guys into defensive position. Matchups also matter for Bruno.

You silly goose.  They now will take this game and see how inefficient Trae Young was and say he can't score efficiently without the free throws.

Cam had timely buckets.  All of his makes came in the 4th quarter.  

And his defense on KD and Irving was outstanding.  He really frustrated KD coming down the stretch.

Hunter was my guy in his draft class and I’m glad we got the chance to draft him. Never would’ve thought he’d be this good offensively though.

.   But if you look closely, the Nets defenders were mindful not to crowd him coming off those screens. They learned quickly. Trae had some easy floater misses.

Nets post-game analysts had issue with the Trae-JC backboard oop at the end of the game, saying it was “a young team rubbing it in”.  Suggested that “maybe a hard foul is in order next time they play.  It would be good to see, wouldn’t it?” 

 

Safe to say, we got under their skin.  The rivalry is on, and I like where we’re at and how we’ll continue to get better.
