Just because the Hawks were keeping pace in the 1st did not mean they shouldn't have doubled Lavine sooner. Doubling earlier would have prevented him from going nuclear. It's more about prevention than reacting AFTER the damage is done. It was obvious Lavine had it going in the 1st. You have to nip that in the bud.

What a great come from behind win. Mrs. Sothron and I only are rooting on different sides when the Bulls and Hawks play. It was tough for her to see Lavine look like Jordan 2.0 in the game especially in the first half and still lose by 12 points. 

I'm sure the media will spin it that the two Bulls All Stars torched the Hawks and not mention a certain player's 42/9/8 game and ya know who actually won the game.

Indeed Lavine was doing everything right and the Hawks were defending poorly. But since there is only one ball in the game, the rest f the Bulls were doing nothing. No biggie.

Statistically he was playing better before by almost every advanced metric. He had improved across the board. The only difference was he was shooting fewer 3s but making them at a higher percentage. That dip in scoring was all voters really looked at. His points per shot, TS%, Offensive Rating, Win Shares, etc were all career highs.

Very good win for the Hawks. This is the type of win that makes me believe they are still improving as a team.

Gallinari seems to be the key to our recent success. When he plays scrappy defense and scores over 15, we seem unbeatable.

In a playoff game/series, the delay could be killer.

The stat I had my particular eye on, Points Off TOs: ATL 18 (off 13 CHI TOs), CHI 4 (off ATL's 9 TOs). That was really the game!

The out-of-town scores, tonight, emphasize what we've known: don't rely on other teams to dictate if and how quickly you clinch a desired playoff spot. We gotta make our own destiny by taking care of business and winning games like this, and just accept any extra gifts that come along the way.

He's a wildcard for sure. If he's on it we have too many guys to defend.
