With all the Shenanigans - Hawks had every chance to win this game.  With 5:06 left, the score was tied at 91 on a Capela dunk.  Then it all went downhill.

Bogi - missed 3, Capela - missed bunny, Bogi - missed 3, Hunter - missed 3, Hunter - missed 3, Young - missed 3, Bogi - missed 3, Hunter - missed alley hoop, Hunter - got fouled, hit 1 free throw - that was all Folks. So that is

1 point in the last 5 minutes.🤢

This is the thing.  Everyone blaming Nate for not bringing the starters back but would it have mattered?   The starters tied it up but then proceeded to give it away.

I think so, even if its just to mix them in. Dre JUST got back in to the lineup. Most of these guys have played really well next to or as starters. I dont see the need to ride a 5 man bench unit heavy minutes together. They should get one timeout, two max on the floor without a starter or 2 out there with them.

They shouldn't have had to battle back from 10 down to begin with.  Once that lead got to 6 for the Knicks, Trae should've been back in the game.

No reason why Trae isn't logging close to 40 minutes in a series like this. I know coach wants to get Lou his minutes.  But let's keep it real.  Lou hasn't exaclty been setting the world on fire the last 4 weeks.  He's only scored in double figures in 4 of his last 12 games, while shooting like 36% FG in the process.

Playoffs are all about adjustments.  And in this game, Thibs made the right adjustments ( out of desperation, but they worked ).

Rose and Gibson started the 2nd half.  Barrett, who was wasn't bad at all in the game, didn't play the final 15 minutes of the game.  The Knicks bench thoroughly outplayed our group with Rose and Randle off the floor.

So if Nate thinks for one minute that he can rely on "set rotations" in the playoffs, this series will be lost in 6 games.  In the playoffs, you play the people who are producing.  And you give a very short leash to bench players, in which the pressure of the playoffs may be too great for them.

McMillan needs to do something similar to the Knicks by sending 3 guys to rim to get defensive rebounds. We were too reliant on Clint in game 2 to get those boards and as a result were out rebounded by these guys. Also John just settle down and play your game and stop picking up these ticky tack fouls.
