Saw this important statistic the other day: the team that wins game 1 ends up winning the series 75% of the time. Obviously we can't put the horse before the cart here, but at least it's a good statistical trend in our favor.

Huerter pass to JC and Bogi carried us in the final minutes.

One of my take aways:

 

Embiid is huge.  He can score any time he wants to on our bigs.   I say we let him and keep the rest of the team intact.   We can't let Curry, Maxy, and Thybull go off.   Keep the game close, make sure that we have scoring and in the late part of the game, go to the Hackaben.

Your best player, Embid, played damn near the whole game (38 mins) - most on their team and second to Trae's 39.

Refs clearly favored you

And Hunter, arguably our most valuable player outside of Trae - didn't play.

One of the main things we have to work on is getting through the trap...

getting rid of the ball fast and long passes to the center of the court with bigs running the center... like Red Velvet did.

Just about every time I see Embiid play I am stunned at his skill level. Its ridiculous especially at his size.

Well, you saw some of our best and definitely some of our worst. The result is we knocked of the #1 seed in game one.  If you play the quarters in reverse we are all thrilled right now, but regardless we are up 1-0.

Yeah, but the refs did not call anything on the Hawks for those 6 mins.  But we won today, so on to the next one.
