That ending was ugly due to not having a time out to set up for the traps.  The refs allowed Philly to mug Atl and called touch fouls on the Hawks, but at the end of the day, the Hawks pulled it out.  5-1 in the playoffs! Embiid looked to be in pain.  If he's out a game our two, it's the Hawks series to win.  I'm so proud of this team! Also, Kevin is showing something in these playoffs!

Shot out to OO for the tough defense. 

Trae out played MVP Embiid.  

Bogi came up clutch.  

Collins started out slow, but was clutch in the end.

Clint will have his hands full this series if they call 35 fouls for Embiid.  I want Trae to match his foul baiting.

All in all I expect another close win for us next game.  The Sixers followed a familiar script to me:

Embiid beasts 

Curry forces a timeout 

Harris doesn’t get enough shots 

Simmons controls a couple runs with his size and speed 

Thybulle hitting threes won’t happen again most likely.  
 

The Hawks followed a familiar script as well which is simple and what I thought would be the difference: piling up made threes and FTs.

That was high school level full court trapping.  It rarely works in the pros but we were completely unprepared for it. Sixers length makes it that much more effective.

But we should be able to prepare for it now.  Also refs need to call some fouls there, they were hacking the hell out of us on most of those steals.

We weren’t turning the ball over at the end that was a bunch of arm slaps and fouls the refs allowed. The only turnover was the Huerter 5 second call.

When our offense plays like that we overwhelm these teams to where ALL they can do is start being overly aggressive defensively smh...and the nba is so odd when they decide to allow it! They weren’t able to play that physical all game then at the end they can physically beat on us!

same thing vs the Knicks game 1 but vice versa.....all game 1 vs the Knicks they could do anything they want and Trae wasn’t even getting calls then end of the 4th the refs decide to start giving Trae his calls smh

 

refs being so inconsistent is hurtful for wins but this young group stuck with it and got the W and that’s all that matters! We again stole one on the road and now have homecourt advantage.

 

mcmillian is going to have figure something out about that full court trap next game but I doubt they use it all game next game however it really caught Trae and the hawks off guard seem like.

Unprepared yes, but Philly was allowed to push, grab, claw, bump and scratch without 1 foul call. I call bs on that.
