Oh it's 100% Joker. Embiid is a better 2 way player, but he's also mentally sawft and injury prone. There is no telling when his body will completely break down and is almost never healthy by the time the playoffs roll around. But if Embiid was more durable and wasn't a p*ssy, he would be the easy choice by a mile.

I don't think they are better then Philly defensively but for sure they are on the same tier. It won't be any easier. I agree 100% that we won't win unless we break out of this slump we are in from downtown but I expect us to do just that.

Yup I would lean towards Joker probably. Picked him up in my franchise on NBA2k19 as a free agent and he was instrumental in my 6 championships lol (and counting if I ever pick it up again)

Deandre Hunter was our leading scorer against the Bucks. There is just no understating how badly not having him hurts us.

I appreciate that the relationship between Trae and Quavo is organic and not some forced marketing ploy. Quavo was one of the first people to reach out and welcome Trae to Atlanta. He has been there through all of the disrespect and hate just like the rest of us regular folk.

I think they, or at least Trae, see him almost like family at this point.

Mind you, Quavo was there on the road at the game in Philly. I don't even think the Atlanta reporters got to travel to the game at all.

I love Sarah, I think she is great at her job as well as totally stunning. There's nothing I want more than to see that lady happy, but I think this was a non issue that could potentially blow up in to something worse by retweeting it out

Thoughts Hawks v Bucks. MIL has some of same vulnerabilities Sixers had offensively, even more so. (Embiid is better offensively than anyone on Bucks) but they produce more as a team in transition and attacking paint (some overlap). If Hawks can get back/set will be a good start.

Noticed the only time Philly ever got consistently going on fast breaks Hawks shut it down, mainly with great floor running by Capela and slowing down the pace on their end offensively

What about defensively? I feel like even though jrue is a great defender, trae will get some relief not having to deal with all the height the sixers threw at him.

The are more stingy on the interior... you need heavy shooting lineups to punish what they do, so Gallo will be a big factor, JC will need to make perimeter shots. And they would miss Bogi if he couldn't play effectively.

Something Embiid/Sixers did yesterday to impact Trae's runner was digging on the gather and getting into his space in the process. You can see here how Trae short-arms the shot as a result. Something to watch that the Bucks might try to replicate.

Later in the game Trae anticipates the Embiid dig as he readies his floater and uses it to create the lob opportunity for Capela. I also love the contact on Embiid after the lob to make sure he can't get back to Capela. His creation IQ is absurd.

i really like the adjustment made by putting capela deeper, on the baseline, instead of on the block later in the game. forced embiid to declare a little bit more and created more space for lobs (lead to that run of capela buckets)

Milwaukee was given -480 odds to defeat Atlanta (an implied 82.8% chance to win the series), according to OddsChecker. The Bucks are also the oddsmakers’ favorites to win the title with +110 odds (or an implied 47.6% chance to win it all). 

For comparison, the team with the next-highest odds to win the championship is the Phoenix Suns with +170 odds (or an implied 37% chance). The Los Angeles Clippers (+800, or an implied 11.1% chance) and Atlanta Hawks (+1200, or an implied 7.7% chance) are considered long shots by the oddsmakers, per OddsChecker.

Interestingly, bettors don’t necessarily agree. 

Over the last 24 hours, the Phoenix Suns received the most bets to win the championship. The Bucks did receive 29.4% of championship bets, but the Hawks weren’t too far behind, receiving 23.5% of all bets to win it all.

He was actually in public rooting for us to take Trae before the draft..

After taking a day to troll twitter, assess matchups and refill my game day snack safe, I'm going to take a second to give my assessment of this series.

The Hawks played Milwaukee 3 times this season.

Game 1 - DNP Young, Capela, Bogdonavic.  There is nothing you can take from this game. (Hawks lose by 14).

Game 2 - DNP Collins, Reddish, Hunter. There is little you can take from this game. (Hawks lose by 11). Trae Young struggled in this game and finished with 15 points.

Game 3 - DNP Young, Reddish, Hunter. There is a lot you can take from this game. Hawks win by 7 without Young. They shoot 13/35 from 3 and exploit Milwaukee's biggest weakness.

 

The Bucks have a defense that lives and dies with stopping penetration. They defend the pick n roll well but not the pick n pop/kick. Do not expect a rain of Trae floaters in this series, instead expect an in and out game from the perimeter. The series may hinge on BB/Snell/Gallo/Huerter/Collins/Young all shooting from 3. The Bucks are long and disrupt passing lanes but they are slow and do not guard the 3 point line. This will be a feast or famine series. If the Hawks are hitting their 3's at greater than 35%, they win. If they struggle with their shooting they lose.

The Bucks live off of steals and transition. Taking care of the basketball while driving is key. No turnovers gimps the Milwaukee offense. Taking care of the basketball between 8-15 feet and hitting your 3's are the keys to beating the Bucks.

Picking up Giannis at the 3 point line keeps him from getting a head of steam. Playing him tight outside of 15 feet keeps him from getting a head of steam. Giannis is not a take you off the dribble guy, he's a head of steam guy. Making him start flat footed is the key to slowing him down. 

I'm feeling Hawks in 6 and its the call I'm most confident in the series. Fingers crossed, no injuries. The Bucks are the least physical team we'll play so far. We need to exploit their perimeter D.

I think a lot depends on Bogi's knee injury and also Trae's shoulder. I didn't realize his shoulder was as bad as it apparently is. He was saying post-game that his shoulder AND right hand were giving out on him during the game, affecting his shot. 

Hopefully a few days of rest will help him. But Bogi, we are really gonna need him to hit open shots.

Quavo owns a stake of our G-league team.  If T.I. wants to invest in our franchise or its affiliates and come to all the games, he can be an ambassador for our team.  I don't know why people are upset about the guy who is investing his time and money into the franchise getting access to the locker room.  Reminds me of when people were outraged Arthur Blank was on the sidelines for the Falcons

Did I ever say I had a problem with him in the locker room? No I didn't. Please don't use strawmans. I said it's not fair to Sarah, our beat reporter, that she is kept out on grounds of "Covid", while clearly that does not apply to certain other non team members.

Yeah, but I'm telling you he's a part of the organization.  It's not surprising there are different rules for people inside the organization and outside.  Thankfully we probably won't have to deal with all the COVID hassles next year.
