Agree 100%. They'll have to frame everything they say about the Hawks within the context of them being the 2021 NBA Champions from that point forward. On another note, imagine the same sports analysts that were saying no team can win an NBA Championship with Trae being their best player having to address him as "2021 NBA Finals MVP" or "NBA Champion" Trae Young.

If we beat a healthy Suns team that won the West, that seems legit to me.

Unbelievable. What he doesn’t understand is that this Hawks team beat every single team in this league when they had all their stars healthy. Every. Single. One. If they actually watched the teams they are paid to talk about they would understand just how good this team is and that there is a changing of the guard, this year or soon there after. I love these last gasp takes. That’s what happens when you don’t do your homework.

Our healthy starting lineup of Trae/Bogi/Hunter/Collins/Capela played how many minutes - not games - together in the regular season? Now take that number and compare it to the playoffs. Still tiny? Yeah, Broussard can go screw himself.

Yeah, if Chris Broussard gets his own TV show because everybody else lost their voice I’m not counting it as an accomplishment. If it happens to Vince Carter, Sheldon Williams or Ivan Johnson it is fine, but Broussard gets the show***  you put asterisks and nobody should watch it.

I forgot the name of the guy but he was a wideout for Denver years ago who is on one of ESPN's daytime talk shows. He admitted earlier this morning that they, the pundits and experts, had it wrong about the Hawks all along. They're not some mediocre crew who barely got in the playoffs and lucked their way into the ECFs. They're one of the hottest teams in the league and have proven to be mentioned amongst the best.

Ask Jim Rome about the Hawks. He tried to warn the Sixers and their fans after the Knicks got rick-rolled in their own building. His remarks after Game 1 of the ECFs are some of the best I've ever heard coming from a national guy.

Ignore the white noise coming from the doubters and h8ers who are still butthurt over their favorites having to schedule vacation cruises a month too soon. The swelling will go down in a little while...

- Had to go into an extremely hostile environment in New York, and beat the Knicks

• Julius Randle ( MIP of the league and 2nd team All-NBA )
• Derrick Rose ( former MVP and still a lethal scorer )

- Had to go into another hostile environment in Philly, and beat the Sixers, the #1 seed

• Joel Embiid ( 2nd team All-NBA and 2nd team All-Defense )
• Ben Simmons ( 2021 All-Star and 1st team All-Defense )

- IF they pull this series out vs Milwaukee

• Giannas Antetokounmupo ( 1st team All-NBA, 1st team All-Defense )
• Khris Middleton ( 2020 All-Star . . 2021 USA Olympic Team )
• Jrue Holiday ( 1st team All-Defense . . 2021 USA Olympic Team )

- IF they get to the Finals and beat the Suns

Pretty sure with Giannis out were gonna see a much bigger commitment to them getting Lopez down in the low post for offense.

In fact, what Bud team has featured a low post scorer?

 

If anything, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday will be looked upon to be ultra aggressive on offense.  Without Giannis and Trae, they're arguably the 2 best players in the series, with the Hawks arguably having the next 4 - 5 best players.

In a close game down the stretch, the advantage probably goes to Milwaukee, due to Khris' shot creating and making ability.

In the overall stretch of things, the advantage goes to us, because we can sustain a baseline level of play throughout the game.

 

But like I said, let's hope it doesn't come down to a 1 possession game in which we must make tough shots.  At that point, I only trust Huerter and Lou to create something in the midrange to get us a good look.  Collins' post up is a possible option too.
