LOL . . you just gonna hijack that man's thread like that?

The fact that Hunter is completely left out of the top 100 for ESPN, shows just how much they pay attention to the Hawks

. . . . unless they have him as a top 50 player.

I got no quarrels.

Speaking of the list, done good Hawks content today. Do y'all agree or disagree with their opinions?

Not surprised. This was Bogi's first real "breakout" year. People want to see if he can repeat the same success he had last season.

17. Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

(Previous rank: 29)

Young’s leap—from No. 29 last year—is about what you’d expect for someone like the diminutive guard, who already had one of the best offensive games in the league, having ranked among the NBA’s top five in scoring and assist average in 2020. With the league cracking down on foul-seeking efforts, Young will have to pick his spots a bit more. Still, he’ll remain one of the hardest scorers for defenders to stop. — CH

They can't help but find ways to slight Trae. Will the 'foul' issue be flagged for the other guys that do this?

Interpretation:  NBA will not be calling any fouls on Trae Young this season.  Go ahead.  You may be able to stop him now!!

Did they not watch the playoffs? In 18 games, or the 16 that Trae played, he may have gotten 1 questionable foul call, and it was very questionable. The light bump against Jrue Holiday that went for an And-1.

He was getting knocked around over and over and played through it with no foul calls.

My issue issue is less about him and more about are they going to call it even across the board. JC picks up about 2 cheap fouls a game where the contact is ticky tack. I know that isn't the same as baiting for fouls, but still, if contact is made they better call it both ways. Don't swallow the whistle on Trae and give another team multiple trips to the line.

Exactly.  There is so much they need to clean up with the officiating.   They are wildly inconsistent at calling illegal screens and even kicked balls.  Not to mention there is constant exaggerrated contact by some in the league that goes unnoticed by the league flopping office for some reason.

Nah Ashley....

Kyrie keeps getting overrated by putting up great efficiency numbers as the #2 or #3 offensive option on really good teams.  If he was the #1 guy for his career like he was in Boston with his mediocre playoff numbers, his lack of playmaking and his lack of leadership in the spotlight he wouldn't get this love.  But put him in NY with a relatively narrow range of responsibility and shower him with love for exploiting defenses that are geared around not disrupting his game but stopping his better teammate(s).

No. 17: Trae Young

Seth Wenig/Pool Photo/USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Hawks | PG
2020 NBArank:
No. 29

One big question: What's next? Young is one of the most ascendant young stars in the league, but the big questions here are does he have another gear and can he click into it this season? The keys are shooting efficiency and turnovers. Last season, Young made just 34.3% of his 3s (and just 31.3% in the postseason) and was among the league's leaders in giveaways. If he can improve in those areas, he immediately becomes an MVP candidate for Atlanta. -- Goldsberry

Why he rose 12 spots: You might be old enough to remember when people (guilty!) wondered whether Young's size would limit his playoff value. Instead, Young delivered one of the best postseason debuts in recent memory, leading the Hawks to the conference finals with 28.8 PPG and 9.5 APG and firmly establishing himself as a star. -- Kevin Pelton

48. Clint Capela, Atlanta Hawks

(Previous rank: 69)

The Hawks center successfully reprised the gig he performed in Houston alongside James Harden, serving as a devastating lob finisher and a defensive backbone. His contributions on D—particularly without stud wing defender De’Andre Hunter—were widely overlooked. But Capela held opponents more than 10 percentage points beneath their averages when shooting around the rim. — CH

Notables: Luka rated 5th ahead of Harden and Embiid.

Snubbed: Huerter/Reddish.

At a minimum, when you look at some of the players above 50!  It's a tough exercise though and we all are biased.

He’s an amazing player on both ends. I’m really upset he had 2 surgeries but hopefully all behind him moving forward. Love Hunt.

We really gave it to Sef and the Scurries during the Philly season. We essentially ended their families NBA year which lil Stephanie not being able to carry his team to a play in game even though he’s a top 50 guy in history? Ohhhkayyy.

CURRY WAS EXPOSED!

Not only did the Hawks break the 6ers, the grief from watchin' little Curry get big-boi'd by Heurter drove Mama Curry into the arms of another man.
