Watchman
I am saddened to learn of the death of my all time favorite player, Bob Lanier. He was both an inside scorer, and had a great mid range game. He was a good defensive player too. He had a great jump hook, and also had a great 15 -18 ft. jump shot, to go along with his dunks. All the current publications list him as 6'10" and 250 lbs. However, back in the day, one of the annual player books (sorry I can't remember the name of it at the moment, I think the editor was named Zander Hollander) along with other publications listed him at 6'11" and 265 lbs. Depending on who you ask, he wore anywhere between size 18.5 and size 22 shoes. He was a great person as well as a great basketball player. He worked with underprivileged kids and was an ambassador for the league in his retirement. It is a travesty that he was not included in the 50 greatest or 75 greatest NBA players of all time lists. I'll miss you Bob. Rest in peace.
