Filling out the roster.  Someone said that I promoted the guys on the end of the bench.  This is true.  Remember this, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.  If you want a strong team, a strong bench is a vital necessity.  A team needs its star players.  Without those good bench players to back them up this team is doomed for failure.

Beware of those players who want all the payroll possible and want a winning team or else.  If you don't have enough payroll room to afford good bench players - - You get the idea.

🧑‍🔧 Under construction.

Yep yep yep.

Buttressing the point... it's a long season. You can't expect your rotation to stay intact for the complete regular season and the complete post season.

And that weakest link is going to be exploited by the other team if/when he's in there, to the degree he's exploit-able.

(Broken record warning.) Just review the Great Recession of 2022... the 22 games that redefined our 21-22 season... a parade of weakest links...  and some, not even in our normal 15 getting on the floor... as, s'helpme, starters.

(If I still sound incredulous, you're reading the right tone in that.)

That's why I bother to care about the two-ways, let alone the regular roster end of the bench. It all matters.

As you add players to a deal, you add complexity. As you add complexity, you make it that much less likely it would ever have a chance of actually happening.

I've added an extra player now to what was a 2 for 1 + 2nd rounder idea. I like it slightly better, but not so much because I prefer Nwaba over Mo as much as I just feel really antsy that Mo's going to be able to return to his former self. Nwaba has proven to be a fairly consistent asset otoh. From a HOU perspective, though, I feel there could be some strong preference to add a bigger guy... they are awash in 6-5 and under assets.

Murray was drafted in 2016, so he has been in the league 6 years even though he missed an entire season with injury making his  “experience” technically only 5 seasons. Similar to Simmons getting an extra “rookie “ year even though Murray’s happened in his 3rd season.
