Of this list Bogi will not make the 8 - age, current contract and injury history.

1. Trae, 2. Collins, 3. Murray, 4. Hunter, 5. Capela, 6. OO, 7. JJ and 8. AJ

What are the ramifications if said player gets picked in an expansion draft?  Do you get to replace him? The Hawks will be over the cap and maybe the LT as well, Do they just lose the player for nothing since they wouldn't have cap space to use? Or do they make an exception and allow space?  Those details would impact my thought process.

The team that loses a player will get a Trade Exception.

So they will have the ability to replace him at his salary level.

The reason I said two is because we will also have a FRP from the draft.   So I assume that that pick (probably late 20s) will be left unprotected too?

OF the four..   JJ, AJ, Bogi, and FRP... I would probably choose Bogi and FRP too...  But it depends on what we see from JJ.   I'm not as high on JJ as some of you because I have to see more.   AJ could be unprotected also.. if he can't stay healthy.

The expansion draft would occur before the Rookie Draft, so the FRP would not be in play.

For me, the obvious choice is Bogie if we get to replace his salary level with another player. If not, and we were to lose him for nothing (or just a trade exception that requires another team to use) then I'd probably consider AJ unless he just shows out this year.

OK.. well in that case, just one...

Bogi...

for me... Bogi or AJ or JJ...

Depends on  Bogi and Aj's health.. and  JJ's play and health.

I think AJ will be a keeper unless he's Marcus Camby II.

I believe squawkers are sleeping on both AJ and JJ. Funny what the lack of seeing them enough can do.

If healthy AJ might be one of the best shooting wings the league has seen since Klay.

In our 20/21 season Tony Snell was very serviceable in a role doing just that. If he (AJ) can add some solid defense and stay healthy he might definitely be a steal.

JJ could easily be like a bigger Dejounte since he similar to J Smooth fits the role of stat stuffer.

If JJ & AJ get anywhere close to those projections I doubt they would be options to give away.

I honestly haven't been a fan of Duke players since the days of Shellhead but since Jayson Tatum our Duke picks like Cam Reddish, AJ and JJ are changing the narrative for me.

The problem with both is that neither has played against pro level competition.   Haven't we learned from past experiences about projecting College play into the pro game?  If it were so, Danny Ferry and Christian Laettner would make Luka look like Luka who.

Let's see what they can do under the big lights before we start proclaiming a level for them.   Just because we drafted them doesn't mean that they are great.

I believe I just said many are sleeping on them. You're correct time will tell if they become who they are projected to be.

You all recall the Mahorn to Minny expansion? He was none too happy :dwarf:

Expansion drafts are rough.  If you only get to protect 8 players on your team and everybody else is exposed... it makes the exposed player feel like he's less valued by his team (Even if he's not picked).   Loyalty in the NBA is fleeting.
