  1. Please drive and kick the entire game. Kirk, Joe, Marvin (yes, Marvin) and Jamal can all drive and kick at will. Horford, you're the perfect pick to enable the plays. You are also a perfect recipient of the kick, along with Kirk, Joe, Marvin and Jamal. You have the players to play this game at a high degree so play the entire game that way. You can become unstoppable if you play this way.

Josh Smith, please, please, please stay inside on both ends of the floor. Just stay in there man. Do what you do best - protect the hoop and use your quickness penetrate the defense. You are a star - become a superstar. Please...stay inside.

Larry Drew, please play Jeff Teague. He is young so allow him to play through the entirety of the game if he is having a solid game. Allow him to have the sixth man minutes if Jamal ain't producing. Someone has to score and JeT has the ability, he just needs the consistency. That said, I agree that he should come off the bench for the remainder of this year. Kirk is much more consistent and we need that consistency right now. Next year, though, play him with the starters nonstop.

Kirk, you're not Bibby; but, that doesn't mean you can't take control of this team by becoming a part of it. Yo Captains, do your appointed duty and integrate him into the team.

Also, believe in yourselves. You may act like you believe but subtle hints lead me to believe otherwise.

    Sincerely yours,

An out-of-town fan who is as frustrated with homecourt fans as he is with the Hawks recent play.

  2. uuuhhhhhh...no.

I thought he woulda been a Kyle Korver type scorer off the bench.

Who says he can't be? That's actually similar to what I thought he might do for us. It took Redick 2+ years to break into a regular rotation with ORL. He simply needs to be placed into the proper role.

  3. He is terrible. He makes Bibby look like the defensive player of the year

I didn't say he was stellar defensively. We have WIlliams and WIlkins for that. I mentioned his potential offense. Dude didn't forget how to shoot and we could always use extra shooters. I'm referring to a third string SF because I believe Wilkins is strong enough to hold down the backup position. We won't be able to afford much when the time comes so who else is there? Has anyone been mentioned?

  4. I really prefer to see Teague play more with Joe as opposed to Jamal. Teague defers to Crawford a little too much for my taste. I'd actually like to see Teague start just to get the experience early and then transfer the power over to Hinrich later in the game.

  5. Just curios, would anyone be open to Zaza + Williams for G. Wallace? I actually only see Zaza involved to shore up the costs but Charlotte would have a solid enough SF to replace Wallace in the lineup and he's cheaper. This is based of the rumors of Charlotte dangling him and Jackson out there for trade.

    Hinrich / Teague

    Johnson /

    Wallace / Sy

    Smith /

    Horford /

That or Zaza + Teague for Sessions?

  6. When I heard the Lakers pulled their offer to Lamar Odom off the table I got to thinking - who would be better to have, Marvin or Lamar?

Well, I did some comparisons. They both came into the league at the same age and at this stage in their careers they look very similar stat-wise. Lamar had injury problems in his third and fourth year, but the numbers are pretty close. The stats that stood out to me first was Marvin's greater FG%, 3PG%, and FT%. The second thing that stood out was what Lamar did in his fifth season. Sure it was with a new ball club in a different conference but his numbers dramatically increased.

I believe that Marvin could quite possibly be a better player than Lamar Odom. Not necessarily right now, but it would be a mistake not to resign him at a decent price (i.e. >$8 million per). I would probably offer around the same to Marvin as the Lakers did to Lamar.

  7. We need to come out and play like we did in game 3 - hyper-active, running and dunking.

Smith needs some plays at the beginning and throughout the game to get him truly involved - set him in the post against Garnett. And tell him to shot the ball when he is in mid-flight and that close to the rim. There is no reason for him to force a pass/turnover if he is in the air and wide open.

Bibby needs to be in the driving mindset like we saw in some of Game 6's fourth quarter. We need to be able to breakdown the defense to open up the perimeter.

Marvin has to play well in the first half. He needs to be ready to shoot those set shots he and Horford have been open for.

We must defend like we are at home. We have to force their shooters off the perimeter. I'm fine with KG getting 40. It will be a lot tougher game Paul and/or Allen start lighting us up from the outside. When you add Posey, Cassell, House, and T.Allen to the list of outside threats you can begin to understand why the perimeter is so important to defend.

If we are able to start the game like this then I believe it will be a smoother ride. It will still be tough but if we do those things and defend as well as we have at home, Joe should have a chance to go off again in the fourth and "stun the world".

  8. Just a shot in the dark, but maybe:

    Atlanta

    ---------

    Trades:

Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams, Zaza Pachulia, Shelden Williams, Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright

    Memphis

    ---------

    Trades:

Pau Gasol, Mike Miller, Juan Carlos Navarro, Damon Stoudamire, Stromile Swift

    New Lineup

    ---------

    A.Johnson | D.Stoudamire | A.Law | S.Claxton

    M.Miller | J.Navarro | M.West | S.Stoudamire

    J.Smith | J.Childress

    A.Horford | J.Smith | S.Swift

    P.Gasol | A.Horford | S.Jones

Change in Stats: +6.4 ppg, +3.0 rpg, and +3.2 apg

Atlanta Spirit would have to show Smith and Navarro the money, but Childress and AJ would have to be allowed to walk.

Next Year (resigned in green, final year in red)

    ----------

    A.Law | D.Stoudamire | S.Claxton

    M.Miller | J.Navarro

    J.Smith | M.Miller

    A.Horford | J.Smith | S.Swift

    P.Gasol | A.Horford | S.Jones

  9. Why is it that this game is depressing the hell out of me...

Joe needs to be more visible.

    Marvin needs to shoot more.

JSmoove needs to calm his @ss down.

The team needs to run more.

The team needs to rebound more.

THE REFS NEED TO GET THE RIGHT CALLS!

I'm sure there are more reasons, but I'm depressed.

  10. Quote:

Marvin sounds really good so far. Why are they playing Joe so mich when it's not even the regular season yet?

They keep saying he loves to play and wants to be out there. I wouldn't worry to much, he has just as much chance getting injured in practice as a real game. sh*t happens, no one can know exactly when...

Hopefully we get the injury bugs out of the way during preseason.
