  1. I love seeing DeMarre outplay Joe. He's probably ran twice as far as Joe this season. Dennis, let alone Jeff, will give it to Deron. And Hollins' expressions are priceless when the blowout mounts. I wanted the lottery pick no doubt, but Brooklyn is much softer than Indy. We need the easiest path with a couple blowouts so Moose and Jenkins can get some extended playoff run too. But not Daye.

Like stated earlier, Anderson and Jack are the only hustle and energy guys, that Bogdanovic fellow can get hot too. The goals Bud set for this team were clear to see this season, you'd best believe he's imploring the guys that a sweep is expected. We should have some scouts already devising a plan to slow down the X Factor in the next series: Gwinnett's Own Sweet Lou.

Actually, DeMarre has an average speed of 4,1 miles per hour and travels 3,3 miles per 48 min

Joe has an average speed of 4 miles per hour and travels 3,2 miles per 48 min .

You're still the same hater I knew a few years ago...

  2. F&@k Joe. It was embarrassing to watch a 2 with size I've never seen fail to show any explosiveness or shoot a free throw. Just a glorified role player who garnered his little fringe All-Star appearances on size and poor talent at the position alone. He's so great the Nets went and got a senior citizen who is the exact same size and does most of the same things, only difference is he's actually helped win something.

I've never seen such a hater man. Let it go...

Joe was the most talented player the Hawks has seen in the last decade. Nobody wants to play in Atlanta because the fans and the organisation suck so much. JJ was booed last year when he came back for the first time in Philips Arena. I can say tou that, it doesn't do any good tou our organisation. Don't be surprised playeres don't want to play for such a great fanbase...

Nets fans do take Joe for what he is : an aging and overpaid close to elite player who can still make your team win some games.

  3. Of course you don't, those numbers disprove your closing and most emphatic statements Posted Image

It started by : "It doesn't really matter"...

Petro ranks 336 in the nba in ppp on the offensive end, 361 on defense.

    Collins : 444 and 75.

    Your numbers showed several things:

1/ Petro is a better scorer and rebounder than Collins. That's not very difficult though...ans he's still very weak

2/ Petro shot and played more than Jason.

Collins has been in this league for a long time. The only reason for that is his defensive efficiency. Petro can't do anything at the highest level.

  4. Backup PGs: Harris + Williams > Pargo + Hinrich

Backup SGs: Williams + Jenkins > Hinrich + Green

    Backup SFs: James/Anderson + Smith > McGrady + Radmonavic

    Backup C: Petro > Collins + Dampier

    PG : Teague/Hinrich/Pargo VS Teague/Harris/Williams

I would say it's pretty even. Harris and Williams are better offensive players, but can't defend anyone. Do you remember when Iguodala said last year :

“Like Lou Williams. He’s one of the toughest guys to guard in the league, but he can’t guard anybody. I don’t get that.”

As much as I didn't like Hinrich, we always played good defense. Pargo had a good year and was one of the most efficient player in spot up situations.

    SG : Joe Johnson/Willie Green/Hinrich/Stackhouse VS Harris/Williams/Jenkins/Morrrow/Stevenson

    Nothing to debate there...

    SF : Marvin/Joe/TMac VS Korver/James/Anderson

In my opinion, it's not even close. Marvin was hated here, but he was at least a starting caliber small forward, who could defend, rebound and spot up well. Tmac was able to play point forward and had some nice moments. Let's hope Ferry will trade to find a starter, because right now it's weak.

    PF : same players

    C : Horford+ Zaza+ Collins VS Horford+Zaza+Petro

It doesn't really matter but Collins is much more valuable than Petro.

  5. PG: Teague/Harris/Williams SG: Harris/Williams/Jenkins SF: Starter/James-Anderson/Smith PF: Smith/Horford/Johnson C: Horford/Zaza/Petro That right there is a better team than last year and doesn't even include Morrow, Korver, Scott, Stevenson, and the rest. Who/how many of those get traded for the starting SF is anybody's guess. Not to mention a better center than Petro possibly coming onboard. Remind me how we're going backwards?

    You'll see...
  6. Different offense, and I'm pretty sure Pau is older and does not bring what Josh Smith can bring to the table. Kobe & Bynum might help a bit too. We can all pull out different numbers.

So...that's the excuse ? Seems pretty weak to me. Find me numbers that say Josh is better than Gasol !
  7. Hello folks,Here some basic stats for you...I was watching the Olympics finals and was thinking: how can one even compare Josh Smith to Pau Gasol ? Before the Joe trade, I remember a lot of people of this blog saying that it wasn't even close and that they would take Josh over Gasol.Last year, Smith had 1500 offensive possessions and averaged 0,88 ppp (rank: 233), 670 defensive possessions and allowed 0,85 ppp (218).Gasol, meanwhile, averaged 0,95 ppp (113) and allowed 0,79 (91).With Smith's touches, Pau would have given the Hawks: [1500 *(0,95-0,88)] : 72 = 1,458 points per game in offense, and prevented (670*0.06): 72= 0,558 point per game in defense.I guess some will find it ridiculous, but it's not that much ! :-)The point is: Josh is very overrated by squawkers.

  8. Yep. You know, there were only two players in the NBA this past season that had a PER of 20+, DREB% of 25+, STL% of 2+, and BLK% of 3+. One was Dwight Howard. The other was Josh Smith. You know another thing Josh did this past season? He increased his usage rate while decreasing his turnover rate. That usually goes the other way. He dropped his turnover rate from 14% to 11% while increasing his USG from 23 to 28.

Hey Kb, have you a man crush on Josh or what ? Josh can't be the leader of a team. Too dumb basketball wise and not enough offensive game. Live with that...
  9. No reason too bash Marvin. Show some respect for a player that actually liked being here and didn't throw us fans under the boss like our former superstar.

Are you serious ? Everybody around the league knows the fanbase here is terrible. I know squawkers are different and very passionate about the team but nobody can say the support this team had was good enough. Don't bother, I know all the excuses: Joe wasn't a superstar, the ceiling was 2nd round, nothing to be excited about, ownership sucks etc
