I'm liking the attitude, but the reality of us shutting down DRose is pretty low (sans Hinrich).
Something to consider might be to even put JJ on Rose just because of his size and comparable strength. The key is stopping Deng from getting hot and keeping Boozer in his slump.
But hey, if Teague steps up and plays like a mad man, we might have ourselves a hell of a series.

The only reason I picked Jamal to be most disappointing is because he's going to (mostly) have Brewer and Bogans on him. Bogans will hound him and Brewer will bully him and force bad shots.
I picked Al to be MVP because he's played with Joakim, and if he gets any time at PF he'll abuse Boozer.
Anyways, Hawks in 7 here we commmmmmmme :superman:

Hedo Turkglou is really trying to challenge him for that title in this series..
-
When you look at it, Al isn't ALL that undersized at 6'10, 245 lb, but Dwight isn't the only one he can't guard. Al constantly struggles against Nene, Brook Lopez, Bogut, Marc Gasol, and Bynum.
I don't know if you can say he CONSISTENTLY struggles against guys that we play twice a year (Bynum, MGasol, and Nene).

I generally hate seeing JC at the point, but in game 1 I didn't entirely mind it. He took relatively good shots and made some good cuts/passes. The pass where he drove and kicked to Hinrich for the three was pretty solid.

One of the biggest keys in my opinion, is to continue to shut down their perimeter shooters. If you let JRich, Hedo, or even a Ryan Anderson get involved, you have a completely different game.

You really need to wait and see how the playoffs pan out before you can go replacing people. And I don't really know how I feel about Adelman meshing with this team. I kind of feel like he might have a Larry Brown effect (circa Charlotte).

I love that Zaza was confused by the movie..haha

I think they said it's 7 technical fouls in the playoffs before a suspension. It's definitely more than 2 though.
Gothca, thanks for the info. Regardless though, 2 techs in one game and he's gone. Here's hoping

We MUST be ready because you know the Magic will be coming out pissed off. There is no way we hit shots like we did in game 1. That was an aberration i think. Smoove and Horford need to attack inside on Howard and Hedo. There is no excuse for Smoove to not take it inside every time on Hedo. He can't guard him. I just hope Joe, Jamal and Hinrich can keep hitting shots.
I hope they come out pissed ,Dwight especially. Remember that T he got in game 1? One more and he's suspended for a game isn't he? Correct me if i'm wrong, that's just the impression I was under in terms of playoff rules.
So hey Dwight, please do come pissed off and whip the ball at Twin's head. You could use a break..see you game 4!

There are an incredible amount of clowns on that forum...
But the guy you quoted was pretty rational/fair. Most of the arguments that the other guys gave were worse than a hedo game 1 jumper.

I see these two very important pieces of the puzzle against beating Orlando:
1. Collins allows us to play D12 straight up man to man and not have to double consistently leaving their shooters open.
2. We all saw how well Kirk played against Jameer....playoffs last year Al ended up on Jameer a lot because of the switching or we saw Bibby getting posted up by whoever switched, those two scenarios is what killed us last year. Well, no more, we play straigh up and keep everyone in check.
Orlando has no one to guard Joe, Vince did a decent job and Pietrus gave Joe fits last year. Redick, J. Rich, Q. Rich, Arenas are too small to guard him. Joe just needs to stay aggressive.
Dwight has no backup - Gortat killed us last year.
Another trade that looked great on paper (for the Magic) but ended up hurting them as a playoff team. I'll be the first to say I thought it was a good trade for the Magic, but for your aforementioned reasons, it wasn't. It's very similar to the Denver trade for those reasons as well.

I dunno maybe it was just me but didn't it seem like the Hawks were making a whole bunch of hero shots (mostly Jamal). Alot of the shots that we made were contested and not open looks. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited about how the hawks played but I just don't want this to be fools gold. Half of me is expecting the Hawks to tear the hearts out of the magic completely by taking game 2 but half of me is also thinking that guys like Joe and Jamal are going to chuck contested jumpers and miss, and guys like smoove will just hover around the three point line and do nothing.
I can relate to that, but I do think JJ did a pretty good job of getting to the rim. I would definitely like to see Jcraw reign it in a bit next game just cause you aren't always going to hit the shots that he was hitting.

He's right though. Granted Denver lost last night too, but NY had a very legit shot to tie, if not win that game and who blew it? A selfish Melo. NY lost all their depth when they traded for Melo and Denver got super deep. And to be fair to Denver, they lost to a super talented OKC team.

Hopefully an away playoff win will have the fans show up at the highlight factory for game 3.

Very true, the playoffs are all about longevity. How long can you keep the momentum going? Powell in the first did turn out to be a good strategy. Dwight got pissed and the rest of the magic played like trash. That's a hell of a combination.

I think the key to winning a playoff series is good team basketball. A DRose or a Kobe can win a game for you, but they can't necessarily always win a series. And I agree with Deeman, JJ has been/can get pretty damn close.
Also something to keep in mind...the Bulls just squeaked by a sub .500 Pacers team at home, who in their own right proved how important team basketball is (they just collapsed at the end).
I think I might dislike Bulls fans more than Magic fans...

There's a reason I grew up in Chicago and have lived there my whole life but became a fan of ATL sports teams...
