  1. Why did we not sign Pierce for the amount of money he signed for with Wizards? Why did we not go after Blair as a back up center? Wiz are doing a S/T with Dallas for him. Isn't BLair better than Pero?

Wiz also signed Humphries for 3yr/13mil deal which is kind of high. But Pierce only signed for 2yr/11mil and he would of helped us out a ton with his leadership etc.. at SF. Wizards will probably be better than us with their offseason.

  2. You say that like Sap and Horf are a good combo. They have the same offensive efficiency as Smoove and Horf with much worse defense. Come on son. This idea of Sap and Horf was dumb, is dumb, and will always be dumb,

Yeah a combo of Sap and Horford is much better than Smoove/Horford. In case you didn't watch any Hawks games last year Milsap can actually step out of the paint and hit a jumper and 3 pointer unlike Smoove. I thought Sap and Horford were playing great together and starting to gel when Horford went down after 29 games.

  3. We're not better than Chicago, Indiana and now Cleveland. I also don't think we're better than the Wizards and the Raps. Miami isn't going away and the Hornets are just as good as we are if not better.

We will see. That's why they play games. I think we are as good as all of them on paper.

  4. I'm hoping we trade Millsap at the deadline for picks. This team barring a trade is just going nowhere.

I disagree. If we stay healthy with what we have now we are a top 4 seed easily I think. Honestly who really scares you in the East now? I think we are as good as anyone in the East. No team is hands down better than the other. It's wide open now.

  5. I think a front line of Gasol and Noah will be pretty good. Gasol is the best low post player in the east now. We have no one on our roster that can match up and guard him at 7-0. Miami will of course be down but with Bosh and advent up front they will be a tough matchup.

I know we all love the Hawks but we are about 5th or so in the east.

And a front line of Gasol and Horford sounds better though. Add in Milsap, Korver and Teague. That is a dominant lineup. Our bench is loaded as well

  6. Yeah Hawks are much better than the Bulls and Heat. Rose and wade are broken. Then Bulls have Noah and a bunch of role players while the heat have Bosh and a bunch of bums like a Granger and mcroberts. I'm shocked Gasol and Deng think they present better opportunities to win than us.

  7. Well it is your opinion that we are a better situation, and I agree with you but they do not.  Its sounds like Ferry offered Gasol at the last minute when he was making up his mind of where to go, don't know if that is true or not but that is what was reported.  It was also reported correct or not, that Deng was not offered the 10 million.  Deng's camp indicated that DF offered less.  If you have a stigma as a franchise you are going to have to pay more to convince a player to come here.  If you do that and it works out then the stigma is gone and things change for the franchise.  If you decide to take the lowball approach on the contract then the stigma remains are you are screwed.  I personally think that the ASG is unwilling to pay and some on the board that really disagree and that is fine, but show me ONE player that has been given a large contract under Ferry and the ASG.  Sap signed for only 9.5M so he has a payday coming as a allstar, we will see what happens.

That is a fair point but it's not like Ferry has been the GM that long. He is only going into what his 3rd year? He had to clean up the mess he was left with by trading Joe's worthless ass and clear the cap. This was really the first offseason he was going after some free agents. I know we had money last year but the only player we probably looked at was Howard. Ferry struck out this offseason in Free agency for sure but let's see what else happens. I can't believe he wouldn't of offered Deng 10mil per year if he gave Milsap 9.5mil last year. Both are all stars so I'm disappointed in Ferry if that was the case. Deng IMO would of put us over the top if healthy.

  8. How in the world can you say this?   Blame the free agents?   I believe it is the GM's job to convince free agents to come to his team.  We are Hawks fans and love our team, the free agents want to make the best deal and put themselves most of the time in a position to win.  Put yourself in their shoes, the Hawks are known as a cheap franchise.  Yes we had some success last year with role players but that is temporary at best, it takes real talent to win and although we have a very good coach and system, in the end talent wins championships.

Its sad but Ferry hasn't got it done this summer, BUT the summer is not over. I think he was not prepared throwing out a last minute offer to Gasol.  Most of the free agents available are gone however.

I will say that Pau Gasol would have been dominate in Buds system!

What do you mean? I'm stating the Free agents clearly are not looking at the teams where they think they can win in Gasol and Deng at least. My whole point with my post is Hawks are clearly the better situation if they want to win now than either the Bulls or Heat in my opinion if you look at the rosters and depth of each team as it stands now. Of course Ferry has some duty in trying to convince free agents to come here but you have to admit a lot of damage was already done years ago by previous management. We are not a cheap franchise anymore IMO and have shown we are willing to pay more for Gasol and Deng right? They both took less money unless we had no intention of offering Deng at least 10mil. I know we offered Gasol 11mil and he took less than 7mil to go to Bulls.

  9. I honestly don't blame Ferry for not being able to sign a legit player in free agency. He at least tried but it's the perception of this franchise that is hurting us done by previous management. I blame these dump players.

Gasol and Deng are morons in my opinion. Hawks are a way better situation for both if they care about winning titles right now. I just don't see how the Bulls are expected to be better than the Hawks next year. Rose has torn both ACLs in consecutive years and I can't imagine he will stay healthy much less be anywhere near the explosive player he was once before. After Rose they have Noah and role players since it appears Boozer will be gone. How is that team better than the Hawks and our current roster/depth? As for the Heat I just can't understand what Deng is thinking here. The Heat are done even with resigning Bosh. Wade is old and broken down who will probably only play half the games next year after only playing a 1/3 last year. Outside of Bosh/Wade that roster is a joke with Granger and McRoberts signings along with fillers. F*** Gasol and Deng and any of these other idiotic players that don't want to sign here. At some point we will sign a legit all star when one of these guys realizes the potential here

  10. No I'm not questioning whether Gasol considered us. It's this where you're trying to pass it off as fact when it's just your opinion.

Lol. I never said it was fact it's just my opinion like everyone else on this board spews out. It's common sense though I would think years on a contract with a 36yr old Gasol wasn't the deciding factor on choosing hawks or bulls. Ferry offered him 11mil per yr and no way he would not of done at least 2yrs.

  11. Maybe he just doesn't want to log heavy minutes at center (which he would have been sure to do in Atlanta).

How do you figure? Horford would still be playing center just like Noah will be in Chicago. We still have Milsap last time I checked who is entrenched at PF. Gasol would play both PF and C minutes in both places.

  12. Thank you for again letting us know that you know the facts of something that nobody else on here does.

It's the truth it's obvious you just don't want to accept it. Gasol never considered us period. You honestly believe the length of the contract would be what stopped Ferry from signing Gasol if he actually had interest? Please.
  13. -The heat maxed out a 30 year old Chris Bosh

-The Rockets lost out on Parson. Instead of paying him 900K this year they gambled, lost, and got stuck with Ariza who already fleeced the rockets for a contract 4 years ago and lasted one season there.

-the Rockets moved Lin and Asik for absolutely nothing.

-The Cavs have 3 number 1 draft picks on their team and still in the lottery. They got lucky Lebron wanted to come back

-The Magic and Bucks will be in the lottery for the next 3 years

-The Bulls didnt pull anything off Gasol chose to go there. we offered more money but he chose them so F Deng and F Pau

Who cares about Bebe. You guys act like he was on the team or something.

So it's ok to just waste a 1st rd pick? Not sure I follow your logic.
