Guys we are relevant.  Hats off to Ressler, Koonan, and BudCox

Amen to that, brother. Nice to see us wheeling and dealing. I love this talk of going into luxury for Horf. Is this an Atlanta team?

My dad passed away Tuesday night and we laid him to rest today.    I am totally devastated.  He was my best friend.  Never see or talk to him again until glory.

i know this is not Hawks related and I understand if it is moved.  I feel like y'all are family and been a Hawks fan since the 70s.

Shocked to hear the Hawks signed D12.

I can only wish my daughter would write things like this about me one day. Very nice.

Yeah but the truth of the matter is he was getting that or more regardless.  My question is the team better off with him or without him?  If it's truly a choice between him or Al, I want Al and will make with the wings we have.  But if they somehow get Al to go along with Baze, I have no problem with it as I'm not sure who they'd spend the money on that would be better than Baze.

Agreed. When I posted that I hadn't looked at some of the money that's being paid out today. $70 mil for Baze isn't that bad. I'm just praying they can squeeze Al in too.

  4. Let's say we don't sign Horford, or Dwight.   Hell, even if we trade Sap.  Bud's system is going to be good enough to win 30 games.  That's not going to get us a top 5 pick.

People keep talking about this like it's an option.  Tanking will not work with this team.  The culture and system is good enough to prevent them from being bad enough for tanking to actually work.

Sign the best players you can and hope Lebron gets hurt/declines.  That's your best shot.

So people are dropping the grade down because of his spot in the draft. Not necessarily his skill and fit. What sense does that make.

It makes a lot of sense.  Does it make sense to pay $10 for a donut?

  6. Good response.
For me it's less what we do with the cap space  (I doubt Durant or Derozan will come here) and more to do with getting a potential superstar in the draft.

We don't do well in FA because top notch free agents don't come to Atlanta because there are no superstars to join.

With Sap, Denis, Kyle, and top 5 rookie X, the team will still win 40 games.  Bud's system will get you 40 and into the playoffs.  Ideally, Rookie X blossoms in year 2.  In year 3, other big names want to come play with him.

But since you asked, I'll try my hand:

Spend the cap space this year on Allen Crabbe SF , and Marreese Speights C.  Crabbe will likely sign for a lot less than Baze, and Speights can shoot and can provide some physicality this team is missing.

    Schröder, (Hield), Crabbe, Sap, Speights

That's an athletic starting 5 to say the least.
