How's everybody liking that trade now? lol

Lord Belkin is likely pretty pissed now. His worthless player that he got in return for the legendary Boris Diaw just scorched his Celtics.

Sad to think we had an owner rooting against us tonight...

  2. Acie Law 6'3 - PG:

Acie Law is a very good PG and leader. He operate equally well in a half court set or up tempo offense. Defensively Law shows good lateral quickness and reflexes to play passing lanes. God court vision, capable of driving and dishing in traffic. Great ball handler who uses his quickness to get past most opposing defenders. Once in the lane, Law effectively uses his body control and ability to finish with both hands. Fundamentally sound player who plays the game with good poise and patience, rarely does Law force the action. He has great court vision and a high basketball IQ. He is a very unselfish player and always looks to get teammates involved. This goes well with the Hawks, who need a pass-first PG.

Dwight Howard spoke at my church last night. He said that on Thursday, he is going to sign a 5 year, $80 million deal. Those guys in Orlando are writing some fat checks.

BTW, on a completely unrelated note, Dwight's parents were there as well. Did you know that Dwight was born two months premature and that his mother had five miscarriages before he was born? I just found that interesting. They looked at him as a real miracle baby. He certainly has gone on to bigger and better things from that auspicious start.

Not to make light of miscarriages, but is it possible that Dwight was in utero the whole time, eating the other embryos? That would explain his man-childness.

I really hope they don't budge and force him to choose between not being in the NBA (for at least 2 years) and going to Milwaukee. Incoming draftees can't have this power or the smaller teams will never compete. Not to mention that he's so unproven.

Agreed. He should ge black balled from the NBA if he refuses to play for the Bucks. The same thing should have happened to Francis.

I think Yi would be blue balled if he didn't get to play for the Bucks. His hunger is there, and I hope that wins in the long run.

I was there and I can't remember the floor (no I was not drunk). I don't think they made any changes there yet. I did appreciate the free hot dogs(sadly not the good kosher dogs), coke and popcorn. It was also amusing to hear Rathburn say "party on".

Actually the best part was watching Rathbun nearly blow a gasket when he was trying to articulate that it doesn't matter what the talking heads (Bilas) have to say.

"Remember when the Hawks drafted John Smith with the #6 pick (he should have said #17)? They sat there and called him a bust - would you call him a bust now!!!"

I was so tempted to say "No, I don't remember when the Hawks drafted Josh Smith with the #6 pick".

Rathbun and Holman are such homers, that if we had drafted Marc Gasol at #3 and Joe Dipstick #11 they would have been defending the selections. I guess that is why I love them.

I have been hearing a lot of trade talk on here including shelden, childress, and some of the point guards. If we are going to make a trade what position would it be for? The only spot we would need to fill is a backup shooting guard and maybe a center but we have
    hortford
zaza, solomon, and shelden there who could play it.

Hortford? Who's that. Even more reason for me not to like this city, the fans can't even spell. I took the time to learn English, you should too.

great first post. sour.gif i guess that when we respond to threads your highness is in, we should type one key at a time for fear of accidentally hitting another key.

Maybe he has big fat *manfingers* that can't seem to hit the R without catching the T?

Seriously though, it isn't AC Law (like AC Green). It isn't Hofford, Hortford. It isn't Sheldin, Sheldon. Is it that hard to see someone's name in print, then remember it?

I'm having my usual NBA Draft party at my place, so I need help spicing things up with a drinking game this year. Why, you ask? Because I can.

    Early rules include drinking

-when the word potential comes up

-when the crowd boos a pick really bad

    -when they say "freakish athleticism"

    -when bilas/ford trash our pick

-when they refer to a mom's crying as "tears of joy" (2 drinks if it's a draftee)

-chug your whole beer and then boo loudly when NY fans boo their own pick

    -when there's a trade

I need some help here, what other rules should be in place? This will surely make the pain of blowing yet another chance a little softer...

    - when S.A. Smith talks, I'm inclined to drink

    - when Dickie V. laments someone turning pro

    - when someone in the room makes the comment "I wish TNT were doing the draft"

    - when "NBA body" is uttered

    ...I could go on forever.

Why didn't you invite me to this party?

    Scott

that this Amare trade goes through?

Greater than 50%? Almost a done deal?

What's happening? Can anyone even give a reliable guess?

When a public article comes out that says that we are holding it up, then a reliable source says that it isn't us - what do you make of that?

I take it as we have agreed to what we will do, and PHX will have to accept giving us that pick or player (if they want KG). There is extreme leverage with 2 teams pressing on 1.

I'd say we're looking at a 70% likely scenario - but what do I know?

So we have to wait until July to know who we are getting?

The owners are hoping we can have everything finalized on draft night before we have a press conference the next day revealing the new players. HOWEVAH according to sources that may not happen. Everyone would like to see it but it may be later than we want before we know for sure if the picks are staying or not.

This sure sounds like Horford to me. We draft him, knowing that he has the most trade value, while still being a safe pick *if* the player desired in some of these scenarios isn't there at 11.

So the question is - who are we rooting for to slip to 11?
