  1. The Pelicans tried to trade Asik and a first for Nikola Mirotic. The trade fell through, but they clearly want spacing for this year and cap relief for next year so they can retain Boogie.

I say we trade Belinelli and Ilyasova for Asik and their first. We get stuck with another pretty bad contract, but we get another decent pick for guys that were expiring anyway. Having 4 first rounders and 5 in the top 35, is plenty of ammo to make moves on draft night to make sure we get at least two players we are very happy with.

Not trying to change your mind just trying to help you have a more accurate view of the players you’re talking about. You said Bagley isn’t really effective on offense outside of sets....that couldn’t be further from the truth. Most of his points come off of hustle and effort. He’s constantly moving off the ball as well. He gets the rest of his points iso’d at the top of the key and taking his guy off the dribble to the left...of he can’t take em to the left he spins back towards the middle and tries to find a way to drop step back to the left of he throws uo that lil hook in the lane. He gets a couple buckets per game from back door cuts and lobs from sets but that a very small % of his offense

    This is 100% correct.

  3. I’m a fan of his, but not more than Bagley. Bagley’s shot looks like it has and will develop. He’s going to be an NBA scorer, and I think he will be the first all star in this class. Carter is just an all around good center. Like Al Horford was. Bagley could be a real star. I know people talk about getting an exciting scorer to put butts in seats, but I think it’s more about recruiting other stars to come. Let’s face it, NBA is about recruiting now, and getting big names is important.  Hype matters. Just look arc Wiggins in Minnesota and what they have been able to do.

Anyway, I do think Carter might contribute to winning basketball next year more than Bagley even though I Bagley will put up better numbers. But playing winning basketball next year isn’t what this franchise needs.

    I've talked myself into Bagley.

There's so much Michael Beasley 2.0 bust potential with him though. He is very efficient and rebounds well but what are the other things he does well....??

Besides the length and all that garb. He's even been regressing in scoring in conference play. Wendell Carter Jr has been Duke's best player, period.

But I won't be too up in arms if it's Bagley.

I will be if it's Bamba. Sorry. You're not talking me into him.

Bagley has elite speed and quickness for a big man. I don’t see him being a bust at all. He’s got the kind of game that translates really well like John Collins had. They are the kind of players that will always get buckets just because they are high end athletes for their position and have great hustle. I’d say that he’s the safest bet to be an all star in the class because it’s very easy to see him putting up 20 points and 10 rebounds a game pretty early in his career.

Not gonna lie, I haven’t watched Duke since conference play started. I felt like I had a pretty good feel for him after watching all his games before then, so maybe he actually is worse. He has my full attention now though.

Bagley is Atlanta #1 guy. He's the best player in this class with an extremely high ceiling. Love it. Then again if it is Bagley, Ayton or Bamba, I am happy

Bamba finally showed out offensively. I hope he continues, but he’s way behind the other two bigs for me right now.

    They have BKNs pick.

They would never give that to us! I’ve seen trade ideas out there using the cavs actual pick, but I forgot about the rule that they cNt trade it.

I want to somehow find a way to get another lottery pick between 8-12 and get him if not Ayton early.

JJJ is a damn good player. He will bottom out at about 8 first. All the draft podcasts I listen to talk about him as a top 4 guy. If we get another first round pick at the deadline like Cleveland’s for Bazemore, we could make a package of 3 picks for 1 in the 8-12 range right? Or would people not want that many picks in one draft?

He had been the last few games bc teams started pressuring him more and he’s been inefficient bc of it. Defenses will be much tougher in the league and I’m not confident in this Steph 2.0 thing. Steph and his impact are extremely rare. Just my opinion but I’m not interested...at all. Don’t want him.

I’m not calling him steph 2.0 and I don’t want him with our first pick. It’s just that he’s not playing that bad.

Don’t want Trae at all. Horrible decision maker, can’t deal with pressure from defenses, usage right is dumb high so it inflated his stats, shoots crazy shots all night and just gets away with it bc the coach has just given him the greenest light ever, doesn’t play defense, I’m good. Keep him away from my team

His usage is stupid high, but that doesn’t mean he’s inefficient. He has been the last few games, but he still is 3rd in PER. Bagley and Ayton are 4th and 5th.

We talking Miles Bridges or Villanova’s Mikal Bridges?

I’m talking Mikal. Supes seems to be talking Miles. Mikal is 6’7 with a 7’1 wingspan, and is shooting 44% from 3. His measurements aren’t that different from Kawhi coming out. Not that he’s Kawhi, but he definitely looks like a great fit for Bud with the length Schlenk says he covets.

He aint playing Bud Ball, that's for sure.

I’ve never seen a team lean so heavily on one player, but he really is making the best of it. You can point at shot attempts, but he’s still has the highest effeciency rating in the country. Sure I’d like to see him play in a situation where it wasn’t all on him, but he’s got the skills to be a top 5 draft pick for sure. I don’t think it can be stressed enough that he’s a teenager having, arguably, the greatest season a college player has ever had.

  12. My mid season top 5 for the Hawks assuming Dennis stays:

    1. Deandre Ayton

    2. Luka Doncic

    3. Michael Porter Jr.

    4. Marvin Bagley

    5. Trae Young

If the Hawks want to move Dennis, and it’s been reported they are open to.

    1. Deandre Ayton

    2. Trae Young

    3. Luka Doncic

    4. Michael Porter Jr.

    5. Collin Sexton

He averaging 7.5 tpg. His percentages have fallen and he's looking well, stoppable. He's a top 10 guy for me but he's in the lane with DeAaron Fox and Collin Sexton. He's not in the convo for top 5 for me

Nah I still like him top 5 more than any prospect last year. He’s doing things I’ve never seen a college player do before. Plus he’s got that superstar it factor. He just pushes too much sometimes. He’s still the most efficient player in the country.
