  1. Nice read. I'd feel much more confident about Parson's if he showed me one more year. I would only like Asik on a very good deal.

??? Parsons had the exact same stats in '12-13 as he did in '13-'14 but had a slightly higher FG% in '12-'13.

  2. Obviously Korver doesn't do well to create shots for himself but they need to run more screens for him. There have been several players in the NBA who couldn't create for them self and were still very productive scorers. Even when korver has someone in his face he's so deadly that he still makes those shots. Yes he makes a great deal of shots but some of the 3's he takes just make no sense yet he routinely makes them.

  3. shooting more? I noticed he only had 6 attempts last night while DMC had 14? There should never be a game where DMC has more shot attempts than Korver. The reason we lost the Knicks game is when Korver got hot we stopped feeding him the ball while Horford shot an ugly jump shot where he just kept with that terrible jab step for like 7 seconds that no one will bite on. Korver is shooting 55% and for a jump shooter that is insane. Korver is starting to become one of the all time best shooters in NBA history. He may not be great in other areas but no one can deny the assassin like shooter that he is. Korver needs more shots and the coaching staff needs to figure out ways to get him those shots.

  4. So what this team needs is a guy hoisting up 23 shots a night? Sure.

Rudy Gay should never be mentioned for anything. He's just not a smart player but has a ton of talent that will jack 20+ shots every game. I do agree DMC is not starter material nor is Cartier Martin. DMC is a good player if he's your 7th or 8th guy off the bench but his offensive game is just atrocious.

  5. The T-Wolves and GS are two teams I watch if they are on TV. Great young players and are fun to watch. Honestly I don't know what Ferry's plan is. Yes he got rid of Joe Johnson which i applaud but what direction are we headed? I just am not seeing what the master plan is for the Hawks.

  6. Free-Throws killed us. We win this game easily if we just shoot 70% from the FT.

Teague is not nor ever will be a legit PG.

Dennis has some great signs of being a legit PG he just needs to learn how to play under control but it's only game three of his career.

Rebounding is pretty bad. Horford's numbers look good but getting owned by Jordan Hill in the last couple minutes is bad.

Milsap is a solid player but nothing special.

Korver should have shot the ball 20x last night because he was unbelievable

  7. They drafted a guy who people thought was average and is playing like a superstar. I don't think Carter-Williams will end the season scoring 20 but the assists, rebounding and defense is for real. I watched Syracuse a few times and he was easily the best player on the floor every time he played. Now he's a 6'6 PG in the NBA where he can dominate the small guys. He's always been a streaky shooter so he will have some games where he scores 5-7 points but the guy is the real deal.

  8. First off, I thought Horf wasn't a C?? Moreover, look at our trackrecord... We keep our player disgruntled and when they can leave, they leave and we get nothing. Jsmoove anybody. How many complaints do you have to hear from Horf before you realize that this is the future that we are creating?? So instead of waiting for other teams to get us over a barrell and have to trade Horf for some albatross contract and a second round pick, I say that while his value is high, we consider what we can get for him. FOr instance, I can see a trade that nets us Asik, a 2014 first rounder and Chandler... That is what I would call building through trade and answers all your questions... We don't need to match what Horf brings (exactly), we need better Chemistry.

In a perfect world I'd love to keep Horford but the problem is Hordford is not a no.1 option. In the NBA today you need that guy who can dominate night in and night out. There are just way too many holes on this team that we may just have to blow up the roster and Horford has the most value. Horford is a good player but how do we get a stud? Look at what Minnesota is doing. They have a team that is going to make the play-offs and be a force very soon.

Why have a team who is only going to be a 6-8 seed and get knocked out in the first round and draft at 15-17 in the draft and just repeat process? Might as well get a ton of draft picks and have a team that's bad enough to get in the top 3. I mean what are we supposed to do? We don't have the assets to trade for a young star. Look how Houston had a terrible team, trade for Harden(which OKC GM was a idiot) and in a year they sign Howard and have a top team in the NBA that quick.

Ok, so we keep Horford. How are we going to make this team better? How do we add top players?

  9. You guys seem to forget that we aren't trying to win this year. We may not be trying to lose, but we absolutely aren't trying to win. Y'all need to temper expectations as we are 2-3 years from having a team who can compete.

Oh I agree. I definitely want a top 3 pick in this years draft. That being said I see no reason we shouldn't trade Horford to the highest bidder before the dead line this year. We've seen enough of Horford to know he's a solid player but he's not a guy that will carry a team.

  10. Al has to step it up. He's a good player but this is now his team and he didn't show it tonight. The defense will be bad and I'm sure we will get out rebounded quite a bit due to our lack of size but overall not as bad as I expected. Really surprised by cartier Martin as he played a great game and I watching Dennis will be fun to see how he progresses. I think Ferry got us a steal and a PG us Hawks fans have been crying about not having for years. We won't be contenders but we have some nice young players and I like where the direction of the team is headed.

  11. Guys, this is a perfect storm. Golden State has two awesome young players in Klay Thompson, and Harrison Barnes who averaged 16 points/game in the playoffs as a 21 year old rookie. The only way they would trade either of them is if they have a chance to sign someone like Dwight Howard. Since we missed out on anyone worth signing, this is great news for us.

We take an expiring contract or two, and have a long term starter for the trouble. Next year we have our capspace again after Biedrins, Bogut, or whoever else comes off the books. If we are not gonna tank this is how you reshape your roster.

Dwight is not going to GS. We have a much better chance than GS even though they have Steph Curry.

  12. You guys are crazy if you think Dwight,Josh and Horford+ a bunch of crap is a championship team. Josh Smith is terrible. I'm all for Dwight but if it means overpaying for Josh Smith then just rebuild. I loved Josh and his crazy athleticism when he first got in the league but he is a complete idiot. If he hasn't learned by now that he should not be shooting 3's and countless outside jumpers than he never will. Also, he is the type of player that will decline extremely fast. Once his elite athletic ability dwindles(it already is) then he really doesn't have any other skills that will make him an adequate player.

Now if Dwight wants to be the man in Atlanta without Josh then let's do it. I know Lamarcus Aldridge wants out of Portland why not see if we can trade Horford for him and pull Dwight(of course that's a huge IF on Howard signing with us). Howard can still be "the guy" while having a legit all-star playing beside him.

  13. Why not go after a guy like Tyreke Evans? I don't believe he was used properly in Sacramento and he has plenty of upside still. I think Tyreke is a 20/5/5 guy and I mean we could try to tank and hope for the #1 pick but let's be real. Were the hawks and you know we would get screwed in the lottery and end up with the 5th or 6th overall pick as usual.

  14. Bottom line is Smoove thinks he is a superstar and can shoot jumpers as good as Kobe. Problem is he's just a viable #3 option and that's all. It's really time to part ways with Smoove. I wish we could just trade him straight up fro Al Jefferson but I doubt Josh gets traded.
