  1. 2009-2010 Interesting Stats: The ATLANTA HAWKS Are.....

12-3 when Jamal Crawford makes 3 or more from long distance.

10-2 when Mo Evans plays 20 minutes or more.

More evidence to support the "Mo Evans should start over Marvin" theory.

    Nice compilation of interesting stats.

  2. I was listening to the ROME: Lebron and Amare lovefest on the radio today. He thinks if Amare goes to Cleveland, that Cleveland wins it all?

Like Most Media, he believes that Cleveland would have locked up the 3, 4, and 5 matchups...

DId somebody miss what happened in Phoenix last year?

Rome is such a boob. Amare going to Cleveland would be great for our potential 2nd round matchup. Stoudamire is a huge liability on D that the Hawks could exploit to the fullest.

  3. im still pumped .... it was around 1100PM when the game ended and i remember being sleepy before the shot. then after the shot i got so much energy that i played call of duty for 3 more hours and leveld up like 3 times lol. crawesome!

I was behind, so I made my own Friday double header by watching the Celtics game from Monday then the Suns game from last night. I was dozing off towards the end of the Suns game, but wound up coming to when we were down by 4 with a minute to go.

I would like to publicly retract all of the negative statements I had for Crawford after we let Flip walk. I still love Flip, but Crawford is an amazing upgrade. I think it's time I purchased a Sund #08 jersey.

  4. It's just one game. We could lose to the Nets, but then win the next 5. No different than if we beat the Nets and then lost 1 of the next 5.

I disagree. Tonights game will set the tone for the next few games which include Boston at home, @Orlando and @Boston. We have to come out and play well tonight to generate momentum going into this weekend.

  5. Zaza. I'm not counting athletic ability in my vote for favorite. Hands down, that guy's given me more reason to cheer uproariously. His game is so sloppy, but he never backs down. He plays the essential bruiser-type role (ie: Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, Kendric Perkins, Martian Gortat, etc) that comes in to grab rebounds and defend the interior against bigs like Shaq. Watching him go nose to nose with Garnett was a defining moment for the Hawks this decade. That moment let everyone in the east know we demand respect and we're the next permanent fixture in the conference playoff picture.

  6. I just got done watching the game on my DVR. I wound up getting the Cleveland feed via NBA League pass, and after putting up with 2hrs of Lebron jocking, had to watch us blow the lead in the 4th. I hate the Lebron love affair. If I have to hear one more thing about his birthday, I'm going to vomit. Best Sports Illustrated quote of recent memory, "If Kobe was 6in shorter, he'd still be a world class athlete. If Lebron were 6in shorter, he'd be a member of Jay-Z's security detail."

Did anyone else hear one of the announcers on the play right after the shot clock debacle? All I heard was him saying something about Woodson complaining about how we lost some time, "but who cares!" as the Cavs took the lead 101 - 99 on that Varajeo behind the back bank shot.

What a terrible way to start off New Year's Eve.

I agree wholeheartedly. I understand that we'd be hampering the development of Teague, and we just signed a "scorer" in Crawford, but still. I think it's the nostalgia of watching a #22 go underappreciated. I don't know if any of y'all remember Eddie Jordan from back in the late 90s, but he also wore 22, and played a similar role as Flip, except he played mostly slop minutes.

I watched Crawford show flashes of brilliance back when he was a Knickerbocker, then watched him tank down in GS, and I guess I just never really ended my hatefest for the guy. I'm hoping he gives me enough reasons to change my mind, but until then...I'm still planning on rocking my blue "Flipmode" #22 when the Hawks come to Portland.

  8. I'll agree with you that Flip had an uncanny ability to get into the lane, but he either scored, missed with no offensive rebounders in the post or turned the ball over. More often than not, we gave the ball up with no points to show for it. In most games I got more aggravated with Flip's slashing than Smoove's 3-point shooting. At least with Smoove, we had a chance to get the offensive board.

For real? You can't honestly say you'd rather see Smoove jacking it up from 25ft than Flip beating up the D with his first step. Someone needs to tell Smoove to stay near the paint. That's where his game fits. I think working with Mark Price has greatly improved the team in everyone's case except Smoove. For some reason, he's got it in his head that he can make it rain from 3pt land, and although I appreciate the confidence, I can't stand watching him throw it up as opposed to bang around down low.

  9. I disagree with this part of your analysis. By losing Flip, we have only JJ who can penetrate and get into the lane. Alot of posters here take for granted Flip's ability to get into the lane and score, draw fouls, and kick out passes to others. Woody frequently put the ball in Flip's hands at the end of quarters at the top of the key to do just this. Bibby is either physically unable or afraid to penetrate into the lane and Crawford prefers jump shots. If Bibby and Crawford are Teague's mentors then he will also likely develop into a point guard unwilling to get into the paint. This may seem like a minor point but I think it could have a negative impact come game time.

I was beginning to feel like one of very few Flip supporters on here. I've never been a fan of Crawford's game. He always seemed like a chucker to me, and I was baffled at why we made a move for him. I mean, it makes sense to move two guys who were wasting away on the bench, but it kinda clogged up the lane for Flip (pun intended).

I greatly enjoyed watching Flip come in and penetrate at the end of the 1st half every game. He changed the pace, and often took us into the half with a lead, which we were so quick to squander during every 3rd quarter. And besides, what were we paying Flip? 1.8mil? Crawford is due 19mil in the next 2yrs -- waaaay too much

  10. I am happy with the Bibby signing too. Im thinking we bring back Marvin, Zaza and Solo but let Flip walk. Bibby's significant paycut is going to make it much easier to resign Marv and Zaza. I really don't see that need for Flip anymore. I think Crawford will be an even better spark off the bench than Flip was. I bet we'll s & t chillz. I know the Bucks are a contender for him right now but I wish we could ship him to the Clips for one of there bigs...

I'd like to see us bring back Marvin and Zaza primarily. Flip was great off the bench, and I'd like to see him stay, but the Crawford deal doesn't bode well for Flipmode. Solo has been showing improvement, but I'd take D'Andre Jordan over Solo right about now.
