  1. Third straight game (Spurs, Thunder, Warriors) where the other team's announcers are commenting on how their team is playing the best game of their season. I'd love to watch a Hawks game again where I was even mildly confident they could get a stop. Hate to say it, but Thabo does not account for 20 fewer points on the defensive end..

  2. Golden State with 39 assists on 44 made shots - that is a ridiculous ratio. This was about as good as they can play - in the happy event that we play in the Finals against them, home court advantage would be critical to have. Very hard to envision stealing a game there in front of that crowd.

  3. Last night felt like a GREAT win, maybe top 5 win of our season so far. I credit Dennis for the win for taking over the game for about 10 really critical minutes late in the third and into the fourth. 11/4/6 with 2 steals in 23 minutes.

Suns announcers were very complimentary of our team, and Kyle and Dennis in particular.

By the way, the return on investment we are getting on our 2 yr/$4 million contract with Kent Bazemore is absurd.

  4. Great win!

My only complaint was that Dennis was being a bit of a jerk when we were up big. The kid was playing great then he started to be an ass-h_le.

Have respect for teams you are beating (hopefully AL and Paul will give him a "talking to")

Otherwise - great win - GO HAWKS !!

Wasn't able to catch the whole game - what did Dennis do? Hopefully not on the level of his previous incident with Cousins..

  5. It's an interesting display of denial to read the comments (like on this article) from Cavs fans around the internet - (paraphrased) 'The Hawks have won the last three games against us, but... I just can't see them competing with us in a seven game series'.

LeBron is human and his body won't be as strong at the end of a season now as it was 5 years ago. He is only 30 but he has already played more career minutes than Magic and Larry Bird!

  6. I would even argue that he could be a candidate for most improved, but his year-over-year stats improvement doesn't pop out at you because he's still coming off the bench. He could probably average 18-10 for a team like the Sixers.

It's unbelievable how much his jumpshot improved in just one off-season:

    Jumpshots:

    2013-2014: 26/96 (27%)

    2014-2015: 82/219 (37.4%)

10% improvement and what will end up being about 2.5x the volume!

  7. How are you gonna ask a grown ass man if beating a team that has never won anything means more to him than the birth of his son? They treat these guys like they're your little brother's team and it's so cute how well they're doing. It's insulting. This is a veteran team that goes about its business in an uber professional manner every game. They're serious. They have a championship demeanor. And they're not going away.

Thankfully, unlike this Schwarz guy, Coach Bud recognized that the birth of your child is more important than a basketball game when he gave Al last weekend off to be with his son.

  8.

The Hawks' impressive statistics are slightly tempered by the fact that they've played the league's easiest schedule thus far.

Gee - it's so surprising that the team that gives every opponent it plays a loss has played a schedule where their opponents have a lot of losses. What a tiring narrative. And I wonder why the Lakers have the best strength of schedule..

  9. These afternoon games are always weird.  Flukey game.  We'll be back to the Hawks we know vs. Indy.

I agree - look across the league at all five of the early afternoon games. All ugly, brutal, out of sync games. Everyone is out of rhythm.

Great crowd for a Monday afternoon game and perfect time for an extended homestand! Let the excitement build on itself in front of the fans as this team's win streak grows to 13.. 14.. 15

  10. I'm voting no - in this scenario, he's essentially taking minutes away from Mike Scott. Mike Scott is younger, quicker, stronger, familiar with what Coach Bud expects, and believe it or not, comparable to Tayshaun by some advanced defensive metrics.

I'd rather keep developing Mike Scott than use up cap space to bring in a new guy whose ceiling is barely higher than what Mike Scott is already giving us.

We've been lucky health-wise so far this year, so maybe if the injury bug strikes...

Regardless, how nice is it that Atlanta is going to start becoming a legitimate FA destination for proven veterans looking for a last championship run? It NEVER used to be like that. I remember a few years ago we were going after Shaq heavy and he never gave us serious consideration.
