It is easy to be loyal to a team when they make the highest offer.

But exodus, they didn't offer him more (other than the extra 2.5% raises). Pryzbilla took the five-year MLE from Portland. If you're suggesting that Pryzbilla decided to stay in Portland because of the $2M difference caused by the raises, you're mistaken.

    1) the Hawks would be willing to trade him to the East, doubling the number of available trade partners.

    2) the Hawks were under the cap giving them much more flexibility to make a deal.

Sounds eerily like what the Hawks did with Rasheed Wallace a few years ago. And remind me again what they got in exchange for trading a talented, yet misguided player to a team in the Eastern Conference?

    Ahem.

    A mid-to-late round pick.

Yeah that mid-to-late round pick was Josh Smith if i'm not mistaken.

  2. I totally agree Sothron! This is starting to piss me off now. I was hoping it was going to be through a trade with another team like Mullin said originally on 680 so I wasn't thinking one of those bums like Kandi or Wright. Give me a break Kandiman? This guy is a cancer to a team period! Wright is okay I guess but also a huge bust!!!

If they start Sheldon the first game of the season at PF i'm going to throw up! How can you do that? He has proved nothing but being slow and a stiff in the SL so far. We have to start Marvin at the 3 and Josh Smith at the 4 period! You can't put two potential Superstars on a rotation of the SF postion. You can make one of them play PF. Smith can handle the 4. the guy is a freak athletically. I think Sheldon has to come off the bench or start over Zaza at Center. No way he starts over Josh or Marvin.

  3. I have to agree with you. Since we can't or it doesn't look like we want to take on any more salary of significance until this ownership debacle gets settled we have done great assuming we get the 1rounder and cash for AL. Then we go out and get a solid backup C. I think you have to give this offseason an A+ really considering the circumstances with the ownership.

  4. How in the world can they start a rookie like Sheldon right away next year. You can't have Smoove on the bench period to start a game especially after the way he played the second half of last year. I think we can all agree on that. Now to Marvin I still don't see how you start him out on the bench after he straight dominated the SL and won MVP. Sheldon looked like crap and isn't ready to start the 1st game of the season for sure. I want him to succeed no doubt but he isn't better right now that Smoove or Marvin to be starting over for sure. Smoove can play the 4 so I don't know what people are talking about. The guy blocks 3.5 shots a game in the paint. Marvin is a 3 for sure but I think Smoove is bigger and stronger to play 4 if he has to. we have to have them both on the court starting period!

  5. yeah I can't wait till Josh Smith and Marvin just explode this year if they both are starting. I see Smith blowing up for sure after his reign of terror on the NBA last year in the second half. Marvin is just ready to be a scorer after dominating the SL. And we all know JJ will be even better now that he has Speedy to handle the ball. People don't know anything about our team. Its hilarious!

  6. I don't see how the pacers can even trade Tinsley when he is their only PG other than that Sarunas bum. They just traded AJ to Dallas. It doesn't make any sense at all that Tinsley would be coming to the Hawks. The Pacers need him unless they have another deal in place to land a different starting PG and the Hawks don't need him at all either. I don't know what is going on.

  7. No offense here guys but I think we can all agree we love our team and the players it consists of now. Don't you think its up to Coach Woodson at this point to get this team to wins some games? I mean we have a star in JJ that BK went out and got. We have 2 budding superstars in Josh Smith(great pick by the way) and Marvin Williams that BK drafted. We have a solid PG finally in Speedy that BK got and we also have a young solid C in Zaza that BK got for the cheap. I mean he has put together a solid team as of now and its up to Woodson to get them to win not BK. And BK has done a great job at managing the cap period. He made one offer to a player he was really trying to get in K-mart and now he got hurt. Other than that he has done exceptional unlike these other moronic GM's like Isiah who offer big contracts to bums like Jerome James. Come on people he has done great in that dept.

I disagree with Orlando. Unless Grant hill comes back healthy, their lineup is basically

    Nelson

    Reddick

    Hedu

    Howard

    Battie

Who is the go to guy on that team? Can Reddick guard anyone? Has Howard developed an offensive game more complex than dunks and putbacks? Where is the "D"?

People put a lot of stock in their finish to the season, but I don't buy it.

I agree Johnny. Orlando will be right there as well I think since Darko did improve towards the end of the season. But I don't put a lot of stock in their wins closing out last season since they came against teams with nothing to win for.

Just a question..How are we that much better than Charlotte?..What has made us suddenly better than Boston and the 76ers?..

I'm not saying we are better than those teams but you have to say they are not so much better than us that we can't realistically compete for a playoff spot with those 3 teams. Give me reasons why they are so much better than we are at this point? I think the 76ers are on the decline for sure and the Celtics really only have one go to guy in PP.

  10. I think Chill has great value around the league and is still very young himself with room to improve. AND no I wouldn't trade him for Magloire straight up! Chill has way more value than Magloire at this point in their careers. Maglorie is a solid NBA center but he has no more upside and looks lazy at times when i've seen him play. If we were to trade Chill for Magloire they would have to throw in a pick or another player to complete that. Thats my opinion!

  11. I honestly don't think its BK stalling anymore. I think its the ownership group that is trying to all agree on what has been offered and what they should take. If BK is the one still holding out because the Pacers are trying to screw us then I say keep holding out. They need Al badly and if they want we need fair value back for him. We need more than one pick for AL! Come on

  12. LOL..PB you wanted stats and there they are!! So quit whining about it. Smoove played unbelievable the last half of the year putting up Kirilenko type numbers every night just about. He improved greatly in just about every aspect of the game even developing a 3 point shot we never had seen before. I love Marvin as well and I do agree with you that he is and will be the more polished scorer of the two. they are both still learning right now. I think Smoove and Marvin could be the next bad ass tandem at the forward positions for the next decade and will be downright scary. We shouldn't argue over this anyways they are on the same team and we should root for both of them. I'm really excited to get this next year started. I think we are going to surprise a lot of people in the NBA. GO HAWKS!!!

  13. The Hawks have a very good chance to make the playoffs at least with a 7 or 8 seed. I think the Wizards are a team that could possibly fall out of the playoffs also. They did nothing this offseason to improve their team and will probably loss Jeffries to FA. They were what .500 last year. Milwaukee is another playoff team from last year I think is overrated and barely finished .500 last year. Same with Indiana we sweeped them last 3-0 and they barely made the playoffs with a .500 record. I'm just saying these 3 teams have not done a whole lot this offseason to say they will definitely make the playoffs again next year. We could overtake all three of these teams realistically if our players play the way we know they can. I think its wide open for the last 3 playoffs spots honestly with these 5 a lock to make the playoffs....after that its up for grabs! Go HAWKS!!

    1.Detroit

    2.Chicago

    3.Miami

    4.Cleveland

    5.New Jersey

  14. Yeah I don't see how he would agree to take on Tinsley and his big contract/injuries at all unless we were moving Lue or something. There is just absolutely no reason to bring Tinsley in at all when we desperately need a C or another big. We better at least get the 1st rounder next year unprotected or i'm going to be really pissed off.
