Who could(should) the Hawks pick...???
Here are statistics for my arguement first,
Who won...
2005 SEC Freshman of the Year (Coaches)
2006 SEC All-Tournament Team
2006 First Team All-American (Collegeinsider.com, Wooden Award)
2006 Second Team All-American (AP)
2006 SEC Player of the Year (AP, Coaches, Collegeinsider.com)(led the SEC in scoring, rebounds and field-goal pct.)
2006 All-Atlanta NCAA Region
2007 First Team All-SEC (Coaches, AP)
scored over 25 pts in a single-game 11 times.
If you still need some help look at his games vs.
Tennessee(3/8/07) 25 pts, 15 rbs(including 9 off.)
in the SEC tournament.
Alabama(1/9/07) 24 pts, 17 rbs
Texas(12/10/06) 21 pts, 10 rbs
Texas A&M(12/5/06) 24 pts, 10 rbs
Had a SEC leading 15 double doubles including 10 in which he scored 20 points per more, 19 double doubles as a sophmore and 10 as a freshman.
His defense..?
LaMarcus Aldridge(Texas) went 2-14 for 4 pts.(3/25/06)
Josh Boone(UConn) went 2-8 for 4 pts.(1/7/06)
Jeff Adreian(UConn) went 3-12 for 8 pts.(1/6/07)
Sonny Weems(Ark) went 4-12 for 9 pts.(2/10/07)
all LSU wins.
And then forget statistics, look how he played against then #1 Ohio State(25pts)last year, or against the Hawks own Sheldon Williams last year in the NCAA Tournament. And having to face Florida about 3 times a year...And did I mention he scored over 25 pts in a single-game 11 times ?
BUT... Then again the Hawks are the Hawks and they should pick someone like Yi JianLian, Acie Law, Mike Conley Jr. or Brandan Wright or any of the other players who will never average 10 pts a game in the NBA.
ESPN by the way has Glen Davis projected to go 53rd to the Blazers. I love that ESPN controls people's thoughts on sports, so that when they say Glen Davis is not a first rounder then he isn't.
Remember this arguement after Big Baby is a solid double-double in the NBA and the Hawks pick Adam Keefe or Priest Lauderdale again.
