  1. Al Jefferson is going to be a monster again next year. The injury he had takes time to recover. If we could get him for Smoove, id do that in a heartbeat. Jefferson is more of a 5 than Horford is. (and the 2 Big Als would be a hell of a marketing campaign).

    And I will NEVER use Chris Wallace of Memphis as a benchmark for a player's value.

  2. It's common knowledge the Warriors are trying to cut costs and shed contracts.

    Now that we're balls deep in the ludicrous build-a-championship-caliber-team-around-JJ-Horf-Smoove approach, I think we gotta roll the dice on adding a young stud.

    Ellis is a great candidate. Elite skills. Young (24 years old). Never really had the chance to thrive, but clearly the skills are there.

    I'd offer Crawford's expiring and a 1st.

    I can kinda talk myself into a JJ-Ellis-Smoove-Horf core. That's 4 All Star caliber players, and a fun team to boot.

  3. First post in awhile.

    Stupid thing for Joe to say, but he's obviously very frustrated and disappointed in himself.

    I will say this though: I think there's a decent shot that JJ joins Lebron somewhere. He's the perfect side-kick, #2 guy. He can definitely be the Pippen to Lebron's Jordan... and it's going to be very tough for us all to watch as we slip back into mediocrity for a bit.

  4. Wow, Rio would be making about $12,000 per game, and only has to work for 3 seconds a day.

    That's what i call living the american dream..

    In all fairness, Rio is paid for his value as a "practice" player, not an "in-game" player (he pushes our regular rotation players in practice -- every team needs a guy like that).

  5. Jeez I forgot how sensitive people can get if they perceive you to be "hating" on their guy.

    Again, I always liked Acie (and I think he will do a lot better on a team that isnt so desperate for outside shooting the way we are).

    But come on, did you see Acie try to shoot the last couple of seasons?? Dude struggled.

  6. 1. Acie was never a "shooter." He is a scorer, but he struggles to finish at the rim in the NBA (which really takes away from his effectiveness).

    2. Acie was never a change-of-pace guy. And while I admit Acie could get to the rim quite well, he is nowhere near as quick as Teague (just wait).

    3 and 4. Actually, when we got Acie, our other PGs were Speedy, AJ and Lue. So no, we did not have the luxury of letting him develop behind an established vet. When we finally got Bibby, it almost seemed like Acie was a lost cause on this team (mainly because he couldnt shoot worth a d*mn).

    I liked Acie, he just didnt fit here (again, we needed a shooter, which he is NOT).

  7. I think Teague has a few things going for him that Acie didnt:

    1) He can shoot (most important);

    2) He's the change-of-pace guard that the Hawks need in a backup (think Monta Ellis style; Acie was more of a Cassell/Billups but without the shot);

    3) We can take our time with him if need be (Bibby and Crawford can both run the point);

    4) He has an established and respected Vet in front of him (Acie never had that; I think Bibby will help Teague quite a bit (just not defensively lol)).

  8. Not sure why I never posted about this before, but I actually met David Andersen when I was living in Australia for a few months (this was like 2-3 years after we had drafted him).

    1) He is really tall

    2) My friend and I told him that Atlanta was a great city and that he would love living here; he was real friendly and said he wanted to come over but it would have to be worth his while to do it (but that he hoped it would work out in the next couple years).

    Nothing mind-blowing, but he is def a nice guy.

  9. I was one arguing for more playing time for him and still don't think he could have done worse with more minutes than Lorenzen Wright did that season. I didn't think Batista was particularly good -- more like the less dreadful choice when compared to Wright.

    And also, we cant forget that Batista got us Al Horford! (Batista injured JJ in a game, giving us a bad enough record to hold on to that pick rather than give it to PHX).

  10. Yo MrH, AHF, or anyone else good at these BYC SNT scenarios.

    Hypothetically, what would a Sessions/Chill SNT look like? (i dont think Milwaukee would let Sessions go, but I am having a hard time coming up with a plausible SNT scenario number-wise)

    They both would be BYC right? So could they be swapped straight up if they had similar salaries (lets say 6-7 mill per)?

  11. Sessions is really the only player on the Bucks I'd want coming back, and I cant see a scenario where that would happen (especially since it looks like Bibby is coming back).

    Clippers seem like the best SNT partner.
