  1. Works for both teams. Hawks finally get an all star quality center, and the Lakers get a perfect compliment for Kobe on the wing. Joe Johnson is great, but I think a center would be more valuable. Horford and Smith get to play their natural positions, and Marvin slides down to be a huge SG. Bibby Marvin Smith Horford Gasol The Lakers would have Fisher Kobe JJ Odom Bynum The key for the Hawks would be Marvin at SG(gasp!). If his jump shot has improved with the extra practice, I think he could play the position. His size and strength will make him very hard to defend for smaller SGs.
  2. Unless Horford, Smith and law get significantly better, or if Brand continues to struggle with injuries, the Sixers will be the more talented team imo.
  3. Very athletic, yet very undersized. Unless we get a true center via trade, I see Horford as the best center the Hawks can get their hands on, although he's more of a pure PF. Smith is small at the 4 but there aren't many PFs in the game today that he can't defend adequately. The only way I see this frontcourt living up to its full potential is if the Hawks run the fast to let the frontcourt use, but even if Woody is not smart enough to get these guys on the break, I think Smith/Horford is solid. Not great, but solid. They'd be an absolutely fantastic combo at SF/PF imo.
  4. If the Hawks aren't going to resign Smith for 11+ million, they might as well sign and trade him for a legit big man. Gasol is one of the better centers in the league and he's still fairly young. Gasol Horford Marvin JJ Bibby/Law Gasol runs the floor well and is also a very good passer. He'd be ideal in the fast break game the Hawks should run. The Lakers would do it as well.
  5. He's projected to go after 10th on most mock drafts, so it shouldn't take much to trade for the pick. Maybe a sign and trade with Childress. Hibbert has outstanding size and strength, and he would be the only true center on the roster. He could come off the bench initially, but could be an ideal fit with Horford in the frontcout for years to come.
  6. Quote: Quote: Oh STFU with that sh!t already. Get over it. I'm with you too. 95% of everyone back at that time said pick Bogut at 1 and Marvin Williams at 2. If you look at 10 2005 Mock Drafts you will see that too. Now you got these SO CALLED smart guys saying NOW we should have picked CP3. Well DAMN, the Bobcats should have picked Roy at 3 in the 2006 draft. I have never been a big Marvin Williams guy. I said at the start of the season we should trade him for a big but I'm not going to come on here and act like I knew we should have picked CP over him. Marvin was the smart pick in the 2005 draft. The Dumb pick was S-Williams over Roy. I was one of the guys saying "draft Paul or D.Williams. Marvin plays the same position as Smith, and Marvin will never be as good as Smoove." In fact, most hawks followers i knew held the same opinion. It was common sense to go with a pg, but Billy always has to go against the grain. Monumental mistakes like this should not be tolerated. Passing up on guys like Paul, Roy and Bynum year after year is unacceptable.
  7. The Marvin over Paul decision might be one of the worst draft mistakes in NBA history. Shelden over Brandon Roy wasn't too great either. Until we get a competent GM, we will never contend for a championship, no matter how many lottery picks we get. It's time the league step in and force a conclusion of the ownership struggle. It's not fair to Hawks fans to have our team lose because we don't have an owner smart enough to fire Woodson and Billy Knight.
  8. Quote: Quote: Quote: I think he meant Chidress and expireings. As far as I know Chills is one of our players. yep. Chills, Shelden and expirings. A 5-for-1 trade has never happened in season, AFAIK. It's not worth discussion. They could throw in Malik Allen.
  9. Quote: I think he meant Chidress and expireings. As far as I know Chills is one of our players. yep. Chills, Shelden and expirings.
  10. Quote: Quote: Kidd JJ Marvin Smith Horford Acie, Zaza, Salim, S. Jones off the bench. So they wili give us Kidd without us having to give up any of our players? WOW sign me up. Wow, you call Childress, Shelden and expirings "nothing" for a 35 year old PG that has demanded a trade? We what would you call what the Lakers gave up to get Gasol, a better, younger player that had also demanded a trade?
  11. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...17~17&te=&cash= Kidd JJ Marvin Smith Horford Acie, Zaza, Salim, S. Jones off the bench. J Kidd creates easy dunks and layups for Horford, Smith and Marvin. Easy jumpers for Joe and Marvin. Very good perimeter defense, unstoppable on the fast break. We'd be championship contenders for the next three years. After that, Acie Law will be ready to start after being groomed by Kidd for a few years. Kidd has demanded a trade and is on the block. The Lakers were the favorites to get him but they got Gasol. Childress, Shelden and expiring draft picks would be an attractive offer for the Nets.
  12. Joe Johnson is proving that he's not a superstar. We need to trade him to solidify the point guard and center positions. how about something like Johnson, zaza and speedy to Philadelphia for Andre Miller and Dalembert. I think Marvin can play shooting guard, so we could have a lineup of Miller Marvin Smith Horford Dalembert This lineup has excellent size and defense. Sick shot blocking and rebounding as well. Childress, law and shelden off the pine. or a lineup of Miller Childress Marvin Smith Dalembert with Horford, Shelden and Law off the bench. This trade works: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...p;te=&cash=
  13. It would cost an arm and a leg to get Bynum from LA. They didn't want to give him up last year for Jason Kid, and now Drew's averaging a double double. We'd have to give up a package like Joe Johnson+Shelden for Bynum and Kwame, or Smith+Zaza+Shelden for the same package. It woudl probably take Joe Johnson AND Josh Smith to get Bynum and Farmar.
