This is not being rumored. But on Insidehoops.com it has been made clear the Clippers are making Al Thornton available. I like Marvin.. not a hater at all, but would you guys do that trade?

All this forum ever does is cry and whine about Marvin Williams. There must be 10 new threads about Marvin everyday. The kid goes out and continues to fight. He can guard big fowards and guards and hustles every minute he is in. In the first half I believe he has 8 points and 7 rebounds including a nice put back dunk and a few nice step back jumpers. I want to give some credit to Marvin and hope he keeps playing hard.

Ok, I am not trying to start a hate topic on Marvin Williams at all. I love the dude. I really want him to succeed and wishes he had improved as much as he said he did over the off season. But this is reality and the numbers just aren't coming. I thought the addition of Jamal Crawford would actually help him, creating more open looks then ever before. I think it's time for Marvin to go. We need to trade Marvin for someone who strictly plays defense and shoots a high percentage from 3. Kind of like Shane Battier or James Posey (3 years ago).

I really don't want to see Marvin go, but for the sake of the team I think a defender+3 point shooter is what we need to go that extra step.

I honestly do NOT see it.. AT ALL. Why? He did nothing wrong and you guys are all over him about trading him. I know his contract is sorta big, but he's what we need. PG leadership who can stroke 3's as easy as 1.2.3.

You're right about that, but it would be good to get him in there just to score some. He can be that guy that's on every NBA team and sits in the corner and knocks down those 3's.

I prefer we sign Jeremy Richardson over Luke Jackson. I honestly think Jeremy Richardson can be a great player. He's a KNOCK DOWN 3pt/Mid Range shooter that we never use. Believe it or not I also have high hopes for Solomon Jones. We never used him, and I'm pretty sure we will continue not to use him, but there's something about him that i see.

That is fine with me. I said it because I meant it. Horf is just getting started, JJ is an all-star, and I really think Smoove has hit his stride at 18/8 a game. If he did not block so many weakside shots, Smoove would be considered a more athletic version of Al Harrington. Would you pay Al 12 mill a year?

If josh smith didn't block weakside shots, i got this from what you wrote, he would be nothing like al harrington. Al is a good perimeter shooter and just overall better at offense then smith. i still don't want al back, i was just proving a point.

Do you guys realize what we would lose. Lets say the Pistons trade went down and we got Tayshaun and Johnson. Ok, we have a 3, who's our 4? We have NO PF. I'm not starting Johnson or Zaza. We would have NO 4. Same stuff goes down if we got Odom. NO 4.

Josh Smith was not only a defensive monster, he was also a good rebounder. If either of these trades go down... well i guess Horford will need to average 20 boards a game.

The hawks need to stop being cheap for one second and just give Josh Smith his 12 million. What's worse, signing josh smith to a higher contract then he deserves and overspending a little bit, or losing J-Smoove and recieving nothing? You can do the math.
