  1. Yeah, I went in and there was 5 sales people. I slammed the tickets on their table and told them I wanted a refund because the hawks were playing the most pathetic game I've ever seen, as we were down by 30. One of the reps, Jill, quickly pointed out that we were only down by 29.

They said they don't do do refunds or exchanges. But no-one other than Jill said a word. I told then good luck on selling season tickets next year and walked out.

    LOL.......That is awesome !

  2. last year I made some good money betting the spread at home on sportsbook. this year I have been too scared to bet on them, with the way they've been playing.

if you get a chance, watch a game here:

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/palazzo-race-and-sports-book-las-vegas-2

I always go to Vegas during the bust times, ( NFL playoffs, NBA Finals), and the place has always had a huge waiting list so I haven't been able to get a table. But you can walk into the bar. I hung out there once when The Magic Raped us last year.

Another good spot is the ESPN Zone at NY NY. I've watched the NBA Finals there the last few years and rocks. if you get there early, you can get a front table/ booth in front of those giant TVs. I watched one of the Boston/ lakers games there, and the place was nuts.

I was thinkin about betting the moneyline....no way the spread....hawks wouldn't cover the spread, I'd be scared with the spread...just moneyline. I'm staying at a buddy's house that lives there. Watching the game at Bellagio prolly...I like their sportsbook it's pretty cool. Then again I haven't been to Veags for over 5 years so everything is prolly new now anyways.

I've gotten a lot of negative feedback from you guys so I might still bet but maybe not a G. Maybe a few hundred. Your feedback scared the crap outta me actually..lol

  3. you betting the money line or the spread? which hotel you staying at? where will you be watching the game? Vegas is my spot.

I'm going to Las Vegas this weekend and will be there when the Blazers visit the Hawks....I was thinking about slamming 1g on the Hawks this Saturday night. I usually wouldn't bet so much but it seems as though they might be due for a win. They have lost 3 in a row at home and seem to matchup well with Portland. What do you guys think? I would bet the moneyline not the spread. So the Hawks just to win.

Something tells me that they won't lose 4 in a row at home but then again I could be wrong. I just feel like they are gonna come out and play for their lives. Joe, Jamal, Al, Smoove, they all have something to prove. The blazers have won 7 in a row on the road. Something tells me that streak has to be snapped sometime and it might happen on Saturday night. Oh it could be 8 in a row cuz they play at Charlotte on Friday night....just wondering what my fellow squawkers think....thanks in advance for your thoughts.:-)

  4. Hey guys, long time no post. Its been so long, that I don't even know what forum to post this in (so feel free to move, mods, or delete if spam). Either way, I used to be fairly active here and let myself go, as it were.

Anyway, I've got an autographed Dominique ball I need to get rid of. You can buy it on ebay, or contact me off-forum, but I'd like to get rid of it. Lemme know and go Hawks.

    http://r.ebay.com/uOIaxt

I was in a sports shop in vegas last year and the guy had these balls for like 50 bucks. I asked him why so cheap, and he said that he signs a lot. I see him every game signing something for many fans.

  5. the other night when we got embarrassed by 34 points to the 76ers, my buddy was told (he's a 25+ year season ticket holder) by someone VERY familiar with the team inner workings, that the Hawks offered Josh Smith, Mike Bibby Plus draft picks to Denver for Melo, and they flat out refused.

  6. My buddy is pretty good friends with Steve Holman, and was talking about Mo Evans before the game tonight and he said Mo Evans career is in jeopardy because of his knees. Steve travels with the team and knows quite a bit about the players/team, so I'd assume he'd know what he's talking about.

if its true and Mo can't come back, what are we going to do to fill the void at backup SF?

  7. I agree...

I also think a lot of it has to do with ticket prices too. To the folks selling high dollar lower level seats....LOWER YOUR PRICES! I cannot tell you how many times I look on stubhub to see tons of idiots selling lower level seats for waaaaay too much money only to go back and see those same seats are still for sale AFTER tip off. You wouldn't have to eat your tickets had you not had them so high to begin with!

Idiots? not quite. Those of us that sit in the lower level (I'm in section 116, row C) pay quite a bit of money for our season tickets. Why would we sell these tickets for lower than what we pay for them? Besides, even if we don't sell them, we can trade the tickets in for credits to future games.

That being said, I don't sell the tickets I can't use. But I don't miss many games. I think I missed 3 home games last year. Those few tickets I can't use I give away or donate them. In Fact last night I went to the game by myself, but I'll trade that extra ticket for a future game.

Lot's of people can't attend every game. Lots of us have family obligations/jobs/ etc. I'm sure the weather effected lots of people from coming to the game.

I'd also like to point out - if you do attend the games or are a season ticket holder, that doesn't make you any more of a fan than those who sit in front of their TVs or constantly check the stats on ESPN?NBA.com because they are unable to attend the games.

if anyone is an idiot it's you for talking out of your *ss.

  8. Solid story, I was implying earlier in the season that if Dwight opts out he would likely come to Atlanta but a clown or two said I was delusional. Also, why was he with alot of teenagers?

dunno, and I didn't want to press. You could tell he was trying to remain low-key. The guy is huge though, way bigger than he looks on the court. He about crushed my hand when he shook it. This was last Wednesday right around noon.

  9. So I’m going through security at the airport flying to Vegas and I look over and in the line next to me is Dwight Howard. He was with a few teenagers. Now, no one acts like they know who he is, he’s just wearing a white tee and jeans. So as I get through security, I walk right up to him, in fact he was still waiting for his bags. So it went like this:

    “Dwight, Dwight!” - Me

    He looked at me.

“You couldn’t let us win one game?” - Me

    “who?” - Dwight

    “Atlanta” - Me

    “For what?” – Dwight

    I laugh.

He looks serious, he probably thinks I’m heckling him.

“hey man, I had to come over and say hi, my nephew is a big fan.” – Me

    He lightens up, smiles.

“Tell him I said what’s up” – Dwight

    He shakes my hand.

As I’m walking off I tap him on the shoulder.

“Come play for Atlanta man” – Me

    “I wish.” – Dwight

And he meant it. You could tell by his body language.

So that’s my Dwight Howard story.

    Mike

  10. I'm in 116 row A been to 40 myself. Come holla at me the names Paul. I sit on the end of the row towards center court

no, I've been to a lot of games by myself this year though and had an extra ticket for those, but in the playoffs, especially game 7, I'll have some company. ;)

  11. I swear it was me. I sit section 116, row C, right behind the bench - and started yelling "bye bye woody!" as he walked off. He wouldn't even look up, just kept staring at the ground as he walked into the tunnel. I heard others yelling behind me as well, so there were a few people getting their frustrations out.

  12. he's 100% correct. I've only missed one game this year at Philips, and attendance is horrible. The only time there is a decent crowd is when a big super star is in town, other than that we can't even draw a decent crowd on National TV. I expect a decent crowd for Boston on Friday, since we have the "rivalry" thing going for us and its at 8Pm on ESPN - but other than when we play the "big 3 - cleveland, LA, boston" the place is generally dead.

  13. I say that we ought to start now.

Plan to see Cleveland in the playoffs.

And during the first Hawks home game against the Cavs, every Hawks fan is treated to a shirt that reads.. "Donaghy was Right" on it.

I would love to see the press coverage!

I sit 3 rows behind the Hawks bench (section 116 row c) and I will definitely be making this sign the next time we face Lebron, as I get plenty of TV time in those seats. Yesterday my brother wore a shirt that said "LEBRON SUCKS", but didn't stand up and reveal it until the 4th. At one point lebron looked at it, and shook his head. I figured at some point someone would tell him to cover it up, but surprisingly he got away with it. Good thing he waited until the 4th to show it.
