  1. Yeah, I went in and there was 5 sales people. I slammed the tickets on their table and told them I wanted a refund because the hawks were playing the most pathetic game I've ever seen, as we were down by 30. One of the reps, Jill, quickly pointed out that we were only down by 29. They said they don't do do refunds or exchanges. But no-one other than Jill said a word. I told then good luck on selling season tickets next year and walked out.
  2. heh. only went by myself. can write em off, so it doesn't matter. I actually went into the ticket/guest relations office and demanded a refund. I got a lot of nervous/blank stares.
  3. i did come down quite a bit, ticket price is $106 doesn't matter tho, i decided to go.
  4. I got 2 tickets for sale for tonight's game. lower level 116, seats 9&10. middle of the isle. awesome seats. I'll let the pair go for $100. let me know if anyone is interested.

    Going to Vegas

last year I made some good money betting the spread at home on sportsbook. this year I have been too scared to bet on them, with the way they've been playing. if you get a chance, watch a game here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/palazzo-race-and-sports-book-las-vegas-2 I always go to Vegas during the bust times, ( NFL playoffs, NBA Finals), and the place has always had a huge waiting list so I haven't been able to get a table. But you can walk into the bar. I hung out there once when The Magic Raped us last year. Another good spot is the ESPN Zone at NY NY. I've watched the NBA Finals there the last few years and rocks. if you get there early, you can get a front table/ booth in front of those giant TVs. I watched one of the Boston/ lakers games there, and the place was nuts.

    Going to Vegas

you betting the money line or the spread? which hotel you staying at? where will you be watching the game? Vegas is my spot.
  8. I was in a sports shop in vegas last year and the guy had these balls for like 50 bucks. I asked him why so cheap, and he said that he signs a lot. I see him every game signing something for many fans.
  9. that's right. 2 free tickets to the game tonight. Section 116 Row C seats 9&10. you have to be a hawks fan. don't even ask for these tickets unless you plan on going. first person to email me @ kingpinmedia@gmail.com with the answer to my favorite hawks player, gets these tickets. only one guess per email please. no more than 2 emails per person. :)
  10. the other night when we got embarrassed by 34 points to the 76ers, my buddy was told (he's a 25+ year season ticket holder) by someone VERY familiar with the team inner workings, that the Hawks offered Josh Smith, Mike Bibby Plus draft picks to Denver for Melo, and they flat out refused.
  11. My buddy is pretty good friends with Steve Holman, and was talking about Mo Evans before the game tonight and he said Mo Evans career is in jeopardy because of his knees. Steve travels with the team and knows quite a bit about the players/team, so I'd assume he'd know what he's talking about. if its true and Mo can't come back, what are we going to do to fill the void at backup SF?
  12. Idiots? not quite. Those of us that sit in the lower level (I'm in section 116, row C) pay quite a bit of money for our season tickets. Why would we sell these tickets for lower than what we pay for them? Besides, even if we don't sell them, we can trade the tickets in for credits to future games. That being said, I don't sell the tickets I can't use. But I don't miss many games. I think I missed 3 home games last year. Those few tickets I can't use I give away or donate them. In Fact last night I went to the game by myself, but I'll trade that extra ticket for a future game. Lot's of people can't attend every game. Lots of us have family obligations/jobs/ etc. I'm sure the weather effected lots of people from coming to the game. I'd also like to point out - if you do attend the games or are a season ticket holder, that doesn't make you any more of a fan than those who sit in front of their TVs or constantly check the stats on ESPN?NBA.com because they are unable to attend the games. if anyone is an idiot it's you for talking out of your *ss.
  13. dunno, and I didn't want to press. You could tell he was trying to remain low-key. The guy is huge though, way bigger than he looks on the court. He about crushed my hand when he shook it. This was last Wednesday right around noon.
  14. So I’m going through security at the airport flying to Vegas and I look over and in the line next to me is Dwight Howard. He was with a few teenagers. Now, no one acts like they know who he is, he’s just wearing a white tee and jeans. So as I get through security, I walk right up to him, in fact he was still waiting for his bags. So it went like this: “Dwight, Dwight!” - Me He looked at me. “You couldn’t let us win one game?” - Me “who?” - Dwight “Atlanta” - Me “For what?” – Dwight I laugh. He looks serious, he probably thinks I’m heckling him. “hey man, I had to come over and say hi, my nephew is a big fan.” – Me He lightens up, smiles. “Tell him I said what’s up” – Dwight He shakes my hand. As I’m walking off I tap him on the shoulder. “Come play for Atlanta man” – Me “I wish.” – Dwight And he meant it. You could tell by his body language. So that’s my Dwight Howard story. Mike
  15. no, I've been to a lot of games by myself this year though and had an extra ticket for those, but in the playoffs, especially game 7, I'll have some company. ;)
  16. you always with your girl? You sit in the folding chairs?
  17. Been to 40 home games this year, wouldn't miss this for anything. Section 116 - row c
  18. I swear it was me. I sit section 116, row C, right behind the bench - and started yelling "bye bye woody!" as he walked off. He wouldn't even look up, just kept staring at the ground as he walked into the tunnel. I heard others yelling behind me as well, so there were a few people getting their frustrations out.
  19. he's 100% correct. I've only missed one game this year at Philips, and attendance is horrible. The only time there is a decent crowd is when a big super star is in town, other than that we can't even draw a decent crowd on National TV. I expect a decent crowd for Boston on Friday, since we have the "rivalry" thing going for us and its at 8Pm on ESPN - but other than when we play the "big 3 - cleveland, LA, boston" the place is generally dead.
  20. I sit 3 rows behind the Hawks bench (section 116 row c) and I will definitely be making this sign the next time we face Lebron, as I get plenty of TV time in those seats. Yesterday my brother wore a shirt that said "LEBRON SUCKS", but didn't stand up and reveal it until the 4th. At one point lebron looked at it, and shook his head. I figured at some point someone would tell him to cover it up, but surprisingly he got away with it. Good thing he waited until the 4th to show it.
