  1. Crushing the 2nd league? How many people remember the 1989-90 Suns? Exactly...

 Was just using that as a point towards how important players staying healthy is. I punted FT% and TO and won 7-2 or 6-3 almost every week until the injury bug hit.

  2. Well you got a great chance for sure. It's just a combination of smart drafting, trades (if any) FA pickups and luck (free of injury). You get those ingredients ur gonna make a mean chili!!! GL!

Drafting and luck (not losing top players to long term injuries) are definitely the keys.

I recall crushing the 2nd league until my team got decimated by injuries.

  3. I don't know how much worse he would have been but he absolutely would not have been better and that's my point. Diesel likes to wax nostalgic about McDavid in his ramblings and it makes me scratch my head.

We should be looking to get an ethical, successful businessman (or woman) to own this team. Someone who has done good in the community and who will look to build fan support.

Bottom line: Selling to a shady car salesman who's been run out of the 4th largest city in a America is not a good idea.

Everything Diesel posts makes me scratch my head.

  4. - So the GM admits to saying this

    - The GM is willing to accept the punishment from Koonin

    - You can see what he said for yourself

But you need to HEAR the tape as well? OK man.

Before Gearon came out with his letter, it was reported that Ferry said "he's a good guy overall. But he's not perfect. He's got a little African in him. And I don't say that in a bad way. He's a guy who would have a nice store out front, but sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back."

Now, Gearon comes in with his letter and says that Ferry finished that quote by describing Deng as "a two-faced liar and a cheat."

Gearon backs all that up by saying, in his letter, that he and his colleagues were recording the entire call. Implying that Ferry's exact words, whatever they may be, are on that tape.

Clearly Gearon has an agenda and it's to force out Levenson and Ferry. If Gearon actually has those words coming from Ferry's mouth on tape, why would't he just get it over with?

If you want to believe everything you read online and can't see through Gearon's bullshit in his letter, be my guest, but I'll hold my judgement until the real facts come out. And they will, they always do.

  5. I'm not going to judge Ferry until we hear the supposed recording of that conference call...

If Gearon Jr. actually has the tape and it's as damning as his letter wants you to believe, why hasn't he released it already? That would for sure be the nail in the coffin for Ferry and that's clearly what Gearon wants. Makes you think that the tape either doesn't exist or that it does and it's not nearly as bad as it's being made out to be.

  6. This whole think just stinks...

If it's true that there's audio of this conference call (like Gearon Jr.'s letter states there is) then we should all know it will leak out at some point. Depending on what Ferry actually said and how it sounds when he says it, we can go ahead and kiss him goodbye.

My hope at this point is that Coach Bud doesn't resign.

  7. He was a moron as an owner becuz him and his buddies are ass

Apparently they're marketing completely failed becuz they don't really attract black people anyway. Then he uses the excuse of black folks scaring white folks for why he's not getting white dollars lmao

    What does that even mean...?

"Him and his buddies are ass"

Do you not understand how marketing works? All Levenson was trying to do was market to a different demographic to (potentially) attract people/families who'd be bigger spenders at Hawks games.

Should he have chosen his words with a little more tact? Absolutely, but nothing he said was racist.

  8. Thought you guys might like this arena pick from NBA Live 15 featuring the pacman logo:

The Pacman logo at half court looks great, but it's a little odd to see three different Hawks logos in one setting.

  9. One would think that would be the case but it is not.  Korver doesn't even have the catch and shoot attribute.  Teague shoots far better from 3 than Korver does on the game.

You're doing something wrong if you're hitting more 3s with Teague than Korver in 2k14...

  10. Well, he's been played for a lot of winning coaches... but more importantly, he has the ear of Phil Jackson.  This is what Phil has always wanted.. a disciple of his coaching for him.  Even More importantly, I watched OKC a little last year, DFish was a guy that that team looked up to.  I'm talking lockerroom leader.  That being the case, he already has a foot up on Vogel.  Vogel let his lockerroom churn out of control and lockerroom issues affected what happened on the floor.  I doubt you see that in D-Fish's lockerroom.

Sidenote, I know D-Fish was wanted by Phil because he was a phil guy and he would run the triangle but Phil is also looking to next offseason and he wants KD.  And they will get KD if Westbrook is not traded.

Quoting this so that I can laugh about it again when the time comes.

Also, having Brad Stevens second to last on this "list" is a total joke. Gordon Hayward and his soon to be fat pockets agree.

  11. Just semantics..........and probably should not even waist the time but...........

I never said his previous teams wanted nothing do with him. I said his previous teams never featured Ellis as their starting PG to play along side a traditional SG.

My fault, used the wrong words - I think you know what I was getting at, though.

Past teams didn't feature him as a true PG because he's not one and never will be, but they still liked him enough at one point to pay him handsomely and feature him on offense.

  12. Being offered an extension before the 2012-13 season is different than being offered a new contract in the when your contract is up at the end of the 2012-13 season. Players in their 20's rarely ever by-pass their first shot at being an unrestricted free agent, with the potential for more years and more money, for an extension that by rule is less years and less money than they could get in the open market. It was Monte Ellis' poor season that cost him in free agency........and I don't believe the Bucks offered him anything coming off that poor 12-13 season when he was a UFA.

We'll never know when exactly the extension was put on the table, all we know is that the Bucks liked Monta enough to want to pay him $36m over 3 years. He was only a UFA because he turned down their offer and then opted out of the final year at $11m.

I'm not some Ellis fan, I just don't think it's fair to say that all his previous teams wanted nothing to do with him. The Warriors liked him enough to give him $66m at one point. The Bucks liked him enough to offer him $25m on top of his $11m option year. The Mavs clearly trust him enough to bring in Felton and ship out Calderon and Larkin.

  13. Would you want him as your starting PG ?

I'm just not a fan of Ellis as a starter............espcially as PG. I like him as a 6th man.

His arms are like a T-Rex and he is already short to begin with. Its like he plays defense with his arms tied behind his back. He is 6'3'' but with a 6'2'' wing span. For comparisons sake both Teague and Mack have a 6'7.5'' wing span.

No, I wouldn't want Ellis as the Hawks starting PG. I'd definitely take him over Jennings if Teague hadn't been matched, though.

Regarding your post above, that's not entirely true re: the Bucks. They offered him an extension before he hit FA that he turned down and he ended up signing for less money with the Mavs.

  14. Up in the air ? I think Teague's play more than qualifies him for a 4 year $32 mill contract.

I'm so glad we have him over Jennings. Brandon Jennings shot 37% last year and has only shot over 39% once his 5 year career. Beyond his lack of efficiency he seems to have character issues. His defense is simply piss poor.

Monta Ellis is a undersized SG who didn't start 1 game at PG..........Calderon was their PG.

For what it's worth, Monta controls the ball and can pass like a PG. Calderon primarily played off the ball as a spot up shooter last year.

  15. This Contract is looking like a bargain now when you compare it to what everyone else is getting this summer Frye, Hayward, Gordon, Chandler ect. Vasquez is a marginal backup point guard and he got 6.5mill per from toronto.

Glad to have Teague on this team!

I immediately thought of Teague at $8m/year vs. Vasquez at $6.5m/year, too.

Teague isn't perfect, but he looks like a steal compared to many of the contracts being dished out so far this FA period.

  16. Also how many "rumored" players go where they're rumored? Isaiah Thomas has been rumored to like 4 places. Does that mean 3 places have been made up by the media? Just because we don't sign the rumored guys and sign the unrumored guys doesn't mean every piece of information is false.

Channing Frye came out of nowhere? Should I not trust any rumors about Orlando now?

    You just proved my point...

Just because there's a rumor floating around or a player met with "X" team doesn't mean that player will sign with said team.

Welcome to Kent Bazemore and the Hawks. I never said the info regarding Bazemore meeting with the Hawks or the Hawks having interest in general was false, just that I don't think it leads to anything.

  17. It came from the kids mouth, er fingers.

Yes we fly under the radar but it is impossible to keep every single agent and player you talk to quiet.

I get where its all coming from, but lets quit acting like Ferry is a secret agent and nothing will ever get out to the media unless somebody wants their throat slit.

Sefolosha was reported to have contact with the Heat and visit with the Wizards before signing with the Hawks. Not a single person that I could find knew a thing about it until the contract terms were released.

We live in an age where every rumble of a move is reported all over twitter and various websites the second it happens.

Forgive me for thinking that Bazemore won't be a Hawk because we've heard so much about it, but up to this point, Ferry's Atlanta history backs me up.
