  1. I think once Melo gets dealt, all the dominos will start falling. With all the different reports about us being interested in a PG, I'm pretty confident we'll get something done before the deadline. My money is on Sessions, but I'm still holding out hope for Nash. :helpsmilie:

agreed. once melo makes his decision that is when we are going to start seeing people make moves. If melo does wit it out until next season to make a move.. it can actually get very interesting.

  2. I'm not that impressed with Nene as a center. He's a good scorer, but he only gets 7 rebounds a game in 30+ minutes. As far as the PG solution, I would use Jamal as the starting PG, and let Bibby/Teague fill in off the bench. I was surprised when we re-signed Bibby after making the trade for Jamal. I had assumed then that Jamal would be our PG.

i would have to disagree. i really like nene has a center. He is playing a lot better but he just has the aggressive mentality. Although he may not get number all of the time when he is on the floor i feel like he creates an energy for the team. Kind of similar to what ronny turriaf does for the knicks.

  3. Two parts to that, cap...

The rumor you probably already know about is that they evidently inquired about obtaining Teague for Thompson... of course, there had to be more to that deal b/c the salaries of the two don't match up... so, at the very least, you'd have to ship Powell and Thomas to Cali.

The other rumor that you may or may not know about is that they evidently offered Landry to Portland in exchange for Portland's #1 pick plus $3 mil.

My theory is that Portland's GM did a polite spittake, given that they aren't even in real contention for the playoffs at this point, and that Landry's going to be a free agent anyhow, so there's very little to like about that deal unless the Blazers just love the guy so much that they wouldn't want to let him get on the open market.

On the other hand, quite obviously I think, a team like the Hawks would love to rent a Landry for the playoffs if the price is right... and a first but no money seems more reasonable than what SAC supposedly proposed to POR.

Could they do better? Possibly, but the teams with the greatest incentive are all going to be, obviously, non-lottery teams; and, if they're doing a deal with us for Teague anyhow, it seems plausible that the two trades could be negotiated in concert with each other.

if we could make those trades happen i am def down!!

  4. Man, this man has a very low Bball IQ...Shoot it when it falls, stop it when it doesn't. Josh is not a shooter. Shooting 45% as a PF is not that impressive.

Sure, he's a very good help defensive but that's it.

He needs to be smarter and move in closer for the shot selections that he does decide to take. He is not that accurate so he needs to be smarter with the ball.

  5. Horford was quickly picked by many fans as a top-5 pick in the draft.[4] On June 28, 2007, he was selected 3rd overall by Atlanta Hawks in the 2007 NBA Draft.[5]

On February 16, 2008, Horford played in the NBA All-Star Rookie Challenge. He had 19 points and 7 rebounds as the rookies were defeated by the sophomores.[6]

During his 2007–2008 rookie season, Horford was honored as Rookie of the Month on four separate occasions: November, February, March and April.[7]

Horford ranked first among rookies in double doubles (25), as well as rebounds (9.7 per game), which was 13th among all NBA players. Among first-year players, Horford also finished sixth in scoring (10.1 ppg).

On May 1, 2008, he finished second in voting to the Seattle SuperSonics' Kevin Durant for Rookie of the Year.

On May 13, 2008, he was the only unanimous selection to the 2008 Rookie First Team.[8]

During the 2007–2008 playoffs Horford managed 12.6 PPG, 10.4 RPG and 1.0 BPG.

On January 28, 2010, Horford was named as a 2010 All-Star Game reserve.

    (Stats according to wiki)

I think this speaks for itself. He is one of the great centers out there and i hope he is not discouraged by this. He is still young and has much more to come. I am confident in him and im very happy that he is on our team!

  6. We need to keep Smoove around until the end of the 2011-2012 season.

    Dwight is coming HOME!!!!

    Dream with me.

Dwight Opts out of his contract. Says that he is going to play in Atlanta.

Our GM at the time works a Horf/filler/1st for Dwight Deal.

IN 2011 draft, we picked up Brandon Knight (he just fell our way).

    So as 2012-2013 season starts...

Knight, Joe, Smoove, Howard are our starters.

I agree. I hope smoove does stick around. IF Dwight comes here I will be so excited!!! Hawks are gonna be unstoppable!
