Wonderful first QTR by LP and the players.

Yes, VC is awful, would rather have Crabbe in or Hunter for VC. But that is nickpicking.

Overall, LP gets an A in terms of rotatons for the First QTR. Let's see if this was a fluke or if he finally woke up.

Sad how we lost 8 games in a row before LP woke up. Really pisses me off this dude makes millions but couldn't utilize our (depleted) roster effectively. Really hurt our playoff chances.

Have you noticed how we aren't getting blown out now? Usually at this point in the 1st qtr we are getting CRAZY KILLED. But not this time. Because LP finally realized the proper lineup to stick VC in. We have 3 decent defenders on the floor. (Bembry, Bruno and Len) VC and Crabbe are garbage on defense but we aren't getting blown out and the Pacers are having a hard time scoring. 

Also I like playing Len WITHOUT trae. Because Len can't catch passes. And it annoys trae. The easy solution? Stagger Len and Trae. When trae is in, take out Len. When Len is in, take out Trae. SOOOO easy.


Too bad LP was clueless for about 15 games. SAD! 

Omg. LP is finally playing Bruno at the 4 and Len at the 5. FINALLY.....!!!! I wonder if we win this game....

With this logic, a HC should NEVER be fired, because "the players are the ones playing and missing shots". 

When is it acceptable? Listen, the Hawks won't do much this season most likely, but the fact is that if LP is trying to win this season, he has done a HORRIBLE job looking at analytics. The stats don't lie. There is zero reason to start Jones and play VC at the 4 spot. Zero.

Now, if LP is tank commanding...then GOOD JOB! He's doing very well. And yes, playing VC at the 4 is a great way to lose many many games. lol

As for the Bruno debate, I think there are a few factors that go into it:

1) Bruno isn't good (yet).

Fine. There really is no debate, you start a third rookie. OR, in the alternative, if you are uncomfortable with a third rookie, simply start Bruno and remove Cam and replace with Bembry. In both of these above scenarios you have 3 decent defensive players, and 2 explosive offensive players (Trae and Bari) 

Right now, with the Master LP's lineup, (Jones in the lineup) gives us 3 really bad defensive players (trae, bari, jones) and 2 good offensive players and we get annihilated on defense and ESP. defensive rebounding. 

The bench can be staggered nicely with Cam coming off it, and also including Len as the backup C. Dude, we've lost like 8 games in a row. Several of those games we could've easily won. Raptors and Wolves game immediately comes to my mind. And also , frankly our previous game against the Bucks we could've won as well. The problem is LP is really really bad at figuring this stuff out AND IT'S HIS JOB. The stats don't lie. but LP will continue to start DJONES, even tonight. And guess what? Another loss. 100%

This isnt acceptable. Unless we are purposefully tanking.

@LK6969 . . . . I'm a believer now man.   LP doesn't need to be fired.  But HE is a big reason why this team can't break this losing streak, more than anyone else.  He and his staff have to look in the mirror, see who actually has an impact on a game, and coach a hell of a lot better.

I've watched every Hawks game this season. It is pretty glaring to me personally. I don't even study the film or anything TOO MUCH in depth. It's...just....really....obvious.

This type of incompetence at the highest level of play shouldn't really be tolerated sadly. You are making millions of bucks to do this job. The only excuse I can think of is if he is purposefully tank commanding.

If the Hawks are tank commanding, fine. I understand. I guess the Hawks and/or LP can't come out and straight up say they are tanking. But if the goal is to make the 8th seed this season, LP should be fired. He's really bad and the reason we have lost about 5-6 games now. 

Trae is pissed. Good. I hope he takes it out on LP. I hope he realize it's LP. LP is the reason we losing.

I love VC, But he's really bad. LP wants to play him at the 4. When instead what he should do is move Bruno down to the 4 and play Len at the 5.

We aren't going to win anything with LP at the helm. Even when our roster is "fixed". LP is just a bad coach in terms of strategy.

He needs to stagger the bench. But he just throws them ALL out there at the 4 min mark in the 1st qtr and the game gets blown wide open. has happened the past 6-7 games. Legit same thing past 6-7 games. LOL

LP's lineups are really really really bad. He doesn't know how to stagger his players properly. When all the subs come in, it's REALLY bad. LP doesn't seem to recognize that he needs to stagger his rotations so we don't have 5 subs in. Like Turner, VC, Bembry Bruno is NOT good a lineup. It's bad defensively and bad offensively. It's just flat out bad. And That's on LP. 

Yes the roster has holes, but you can at least plug them in strategically. LP doesn't have a basketball mind at all.

I think if we do that, I think we have enough guys with a lot of athleticism on the team that are able to go up and grab the rebound. I think that’s just a matter of really trying, playing hard and playing physical. A lot of the times, I feel like a lot of teams come in here and try to impose their will early. We just take the hits. We have to be that team that hits back or hits first before we get hit. When guys understand that, we’ll be fine.”

“I just feel like we have to do our job,” Fernando said. “As long as everyone does their job, which is hit bodies, because at the end of the day, it’s 10 people on the floor at the same time. If each of us is hitting one body or occupying someone, then someone should be able to grab the rebound. For us, as bigs, it’s our job to understand that we have to grab every board. We’re going to try to do that as many times as we can. We got to get better awareness on the court and realize that every time when the ball goes up, we have to get that rebound.”

 Len didn’t know the Hawks were last in defensive rebounding rate.

“Oh, shit. I didn’t even know that. I appreciate you letting me know,” Len said. “We have to take that very personally and improve. We just have to pay more attention to it and take it more personally.

This is exactly why Bruno needs to be the starter, and stay there. 

You have one center making excuses that he's too far away from the action to get a rebound, even though when he IS around the basket, he gets outworked.

You have the other center that didn't even have a damn clue.

But the center who plays the least, understands the problem perfectly, which is why he had A LOT to say about it.

LP needs to play the guy who has the most desire.  And that guy at this moment, is Bruno.

And if LP brilliantly decides to start DJONES again at Center tonight? Then what? If DJONES gets more than 10 minutes this game, hawks will lose. point blank. 

So who's fault is it? Djones? Who just doesn't have the talent? or the Coach LP?

LP has two options at starting center. Bruno (my preference and have been asking for this for 5+ games now. And it is GLARINGLY obvious) or Len.

It CANNOT be Djones. If it is DJONES tonight it means LP is literally a dunce and probably the most clueless HC we've had in Atlanta. That's saying a lot. (WOODY NO GOODY anyone?)

The fact that it has taken LP 10+ games to recognize this. (If he even recognizes it....who knows. Djones may start next game) just shows how clueless LP is. Unless we are purposefully tanking. If we are purposefully tanking, then LP has been AMAZING thus far. 

LLoyd has cost this team the last two games. Vs the Raps and Vs the Wolves. 

We were winning both games, and LP continued to go to really bad players and REALLY REALLY bad lineups. 

He doesn't understand how to utilize players effectively or how to set rotations for max value. It's like he doesn't even watch the game. He also doesn't know how to use coaches challenges and he clearly doesn't use an analytics person on staff. 

It's VERY low quality coaching. The roster is bad, yes. But the coaching is MUCH MUCH WORSE. Bad roster= understandable. But these last few losses are 100% solely on bad coaching. 

LP is dogdoodoo. I'd rather have any one of you squawkers coach the hawks than LP. He should only be an assistant coach. Dude is not HC material. At all. Disgusting. This season is already over because of LP.

Is he our tank commander? Are we losing on purpose? Only legitimate excuse I can thinkof.
