  1. Lakers are supposedly shopping Jordan Clarkston, Larry Nance Jr. & Julius Randle.  I would love to have Clarkston & Nance with the Hawks.  I would offer Belinelli & Ersan plus one of the two late 1st rounders.  They get cap space for next year plus a #1 pick.  Clarkston could start at 2 spot or backup at point.  Nance is a very good rebounder and both are still young.

  2. Orlando has 3 talented and young SG on their roster and should be willing to move one.  Evan Fournier is a BIGTIME shooter like Korver and is only 23.  We could make him a big offer as a restricted FA or use Teague in a trade for Fournier or Oladipo.

  3. Of course Bud is going to say publicly that he likes our bigs. We are 27th in the league in rebounding and could definitely had used another big, especially come playoff time matching up against Cleveland or Chicago. What will Lebron and Irving do with extra possessions?

  4. Wish we still had ZaZa! Pero has been awful. Terrible shooting (.25%) last ten games, imagine what it would be if you took away his lay ups. You people who say he plays great defense, well defensive rebounding and shot blocking are important parts of defense and we get very little of that from Pero. Please don't don't talk about how great he sets picks! We need an upgrade for the playoffs. Go back and watch what he did during the Pacer series last year.

  5. Sorry but he is struggling with more than just his 3pt shot. His rebounding is non existent and he is struggling to run the court. He cannot handle the minutes he is getting for an entire season. He would be an ideal third center on the team with less minutes.

  6. I think we could get Dalembert for probably a 2nd rounder. He would be a nice piece to have on the bench. His role would be to come in and defend, protect the paint and rebound

Good call on Dalembert. He would be a good piece off bench to add rebounding and shot blocking. Not too expensive now either.

  7. Watching the game tonight, we almost gave it away because we could not grab a late rebound. The East is wide open for us and we can make a deep run but our rebounding has to improve. Some guys who could seriously help on the boards other than Monroe include JJ Hickson, Reggie Evans & Tyler Zeller. Hickson makes most sense to me because he could back up both 4&5 spots, has good mid range game and rebounds at high level and is under contract at reasonable number also. Thoughts?

  8. I think taking a chance on Turner makes a lot of sense, especially at a reduced price. He can play both the 2 & 3 and gives us another ball handler. He is a very unselfish player and actually rebounds pretty well also. Really good in open court. Larry Bird said that he will probably average 17pts a game in the league next year.

The other free agent I like is his former Philly teammate, Spencer Hawes. Hawes would be a big upgrade over Antić, better shooter and rebounder.

  9. Hate the pick! After drafting Payne, Ferry puts out a statement saying that Payne fits the Hawks style of Pace and Space basketball. Taveras obviously doesn't fit that style of play. Today's NBA is about ball movement and 3pt shooting. I would have moved up in draft to go after KJ McDaniels or Joe Harris. Our backup at SF last year was freakin Cartier Martin! Instead we sit tight and draft a giant stiff, when we already have BeBe in the pipeline. Another wasted pick by Ferry. I did like the Payne pick however.

  10. With the Hawks 2nd rd pick I would take Joe Harris from UVA. Harris is comparable to Green with his size, shooting skill and defense. UVA was the best defensive team in college basketball last year and Harris is as tough as they come. He is 6'6" 225lbs and can knock down the open 3 at a high rate. He was coached well in college and would fit the Hawks/Spurs system well.

  11. Hawes does pass well... but rebounds well? As C's go, the stats I looked at say that he's one of the worst... it's essentially the reason I haven't gotten excited about the rumors that we're going to pursue him. But I'd love to be shown evidence to the contrary.

Hawes averaged 8.3 (6.6 def) rebounds in 31 min this past season. Horford averaged 8.4 (6.1 def) in 33 min this past season. Hawes is a good but not great rebounder. His passing skills make him a great fit for Bud's offense.

  12. 1. D. McDermont- He will find a way to score in NBA. Would work great in our offense. Not likely to make it to 15.

    2. T.J. Warren- Very efficient scorer, 3pt range will improve in NBA.

    3. N. Stauskas- Incredible range and improving ball handling skills. Would help spread the floor.

    4. K.J. McDaniels- Great athlete, will contribute immediately with defensive presence and game feel.

    5. A. Payne- Game translates to NBA well with shooting skills and athleticism.

The thing I like best about these 5 is that they are all ready to contribute now and not years away. I also like the fact they are all leaders and alpha males on their teams. They will not shy away from taking a shot.
