  1. No one should expect Kenny Anderson to come in and tear the league up. He's here to bring some stability to the PG position and make good decisions with the basketball. I agree that we don't need him to score unless the shot is open. And his familiarity with 'Tione, Delk, Al and JB should really make the transition easy. I can see Anderson averaging somewhere in the vicinity of 7-10 points and 5-7 assists. Nothing spectacular, but steady...

  2. I thought some of the article was good, but once again it sounds like an outsider's take on the team. I also like the positive comments on J. Smith. It should be interesting to see how he develops. I just can't wait to see his first spectacular play as a Hawk. As for the article, I really stopped taking it seriously when they had us trading JT to the Grizzlies (not Mavericks) under KEY LOSSES...

  3. "Whoah, whoah, what's with the first two sentences of the article?"

I know what you mean. That was a bit extreme to say that his streak of making the playoffs would end in ATL. It's too early to make assumptions on how a team will fare yet. Especially a team like us who has made a lot of changes in the offseason. Who would've thought Denver would go from 17 wins to the playoffs? Let's let the games do the talking...

  4. [censored], we haven't played a game yet and you guys are already awarding ATL the #1 pick. On top of that, you are signing Kobe Bryant as a free agent. Only in pipe dreams...Even if we were to finish in dead last in the L, do you really believe Bryant will come to a losing situation like that after all the success in LA?? C'mon, I know this team is not the greatest, but I do think it will improve over last year. Chemistry is better; the coaching and GM situation is stable for now, and the real nucleus is still together. You guys wanna believe all these ESPN and Yahoo rankings and shyt all you want, but I think this team will be better than those experts. I guess some of you have no faith in your team...

  5. "Garnett has never won a MVP award... same as Vick. Vick = the Kevin Garnett of FOOTBALL "

I'd compare Vick more to AI, not Garnett. At least Vick has won a playoff game/series. But Vick and AI are alike because their respective teams' success depends on whether they are playing. Put AI on the DL for a month or so and watch the Sixers win total drop significantly. Same thing is happening with the Falcons. Both players have good talent around them, but that talent can only go so far without the main man. When the main man is there, everyone's game reaches another level and that equals into team success...

  6. "lmao, didn't Odom sign with the Heat because he wanted to be coached by Riley?"

Exactly right. I think a lotta players signed w/ Miami to be coached by Riles. I still don't believe this is it for him. I believe he'll be coaching somewhere else within the next 2 years...

  7. "It seems like we start out with a West coast swing early every year for at least the last 5 years. Dunno why..."

It's been longer than that. I remeber back in the early 90's, we went on these early West Coast trips. I think it is the fall/winter events going on at the Dome and the GWCC and Philips...

  8. He isn't the cream of the crop, but who else was left out there? I would've loved to have Smitty back, but how long would be be able to contribute? I think most people here, including myself, wanted him back for sentimental reasons. Bottom line, the SJax signing was a pure basketball decision. I won't sit here and say he'll tear the league up, but he will work better in our starting lineup than Big Dog. I think the players will know their roles a lot better with this team as opposed to last season, and they'll know who the go-to guy is. I see an very athletic team, who will run up and down the floor and capitalize on turnovers. Obviously, the bench and defense will be the key. But if our new guys (Diaw and Hansen) and do their parts, this team will contend for a playoff spot. I think Billy Knight and Co. made the best out of this offseason they could. Considering the awkward circumstances and whatnot, Atlanta has gone from a hopeless franchise to one who has some direction in a matter of weeks...

  9. Not too bad. A lot here are not in favor of SJax, but he's a nice basketball player with a huge upside. I don't get where people come from with this "attitude" issue. I never heard about him being disruptive or destroying team chemistry in SA. I think it's more of a young player trying to prove himself. If signed at the right price, I'd take him. I believe our team chemistry would be great, with some great athletes by adding this guy. Let's get it done and start concentrating on the season...
