Wiggins isn't the only one I would tank for. Danny Ferry could very well eye Duke prospect Jabari Parker (being compared to Melo) who is another potential superstar.

I would be happy with a Dennis Schröder, Jabari Parker, and Al Horford start. Maybe we can even try to get another pick, maybe in a S&T for Smith.

Not getting Dwight Howard doesn't mean the end of searching for a star. Thing is if we sign the Ellis and Jefferson players just to stay in the playoffs, we won't get that chance for a star.

To keep the same team? Not Ferry/Bud's players, so not in their plans. Drafted 2 centers just recently as well. Howard and friends or the old Hawks most likely won't be the roster next season. It will be whatever Ferry envisions a winning team to look like (or the start of one at least). Not going to be a rebuild, as Ferry hasn't even built anything yet. It's going to be a build, a build to a respectable winning Franchise.

If he leaves, half of his career was being a Hawk. No worries.

Top franchises seize the moment. Dwights only come around every 4-5 years. This is That moment. This is the D12,Al,Josh and Lou moment. This is Atlanta's time. Ferry better recognize.

I hope everyone doesn't think this way. If Howard doesn't want to come to Atlanta, it's Ferry's fault? I trust Ferry/Bud's plan since they have actually came from a winning franchise instead of the past results of 2nd round eliminations just to stay in the playoffs. If Howard doesn't come here, most are fine with paying FAs just to stay in the playoffs, or would you trust Ferry to make his team through drafts?

I hope people will accept a rebuild if/when Howard decides ATL is not the team. Ferry/Bud is in control of the team, not Howard or the fans/media. They know what a respectable franchise looks like.

More excited to see Dennis Schröder play than to pay Ellis to come here and stay a 7th/8th seed team.

I just want to say, Ferry and Bud has seen first hand what it takes to construct a winning and respectable franchise. Why would some bash that if we don't get Howard? Let them build the team the way they see it, not how the media and fans see it. Who says Bud and Ferry sees Smith on a championship team? Howard? Of course they will try to get the big free agent signing, but don't act like it's the end of the Hawks if they start rebuilding what the Hawks once was into something better. GIVE IT TIME.

Why can't Danny Ferry get a chance to rebuild the team his way through the draft? Sure he will try to talk the hometown star into coming, but if he doesn't get him (like alot of other teams won't), why should he be judged when this might not even be what he wants? Who says he wants Smith/Howard? Fans want that. He might want a strong foundation of hungry individuals he handpicks through drafts to create a championship team.

It feels good too. We are either rebuilding or Ferry has a plan this summer. Wait and see. Going to miss Korver but he might not have been in our plans (if a rebuild is coming).

Hey guys, long time lurker. Thought I would finally sign up to be a member, since I have been on other Hawks forums and none have as many posters as this one. Don't know why it took me so long, but anyways

He has the quickness and speed, but he doesn't have the cojones to be a good defender. I can't remember the last time he even slowed down a good PG, let alone stopped him.

I'm in the same camp as you. Would rather get a stop gap vet, having Schröder be a big part of the team coming off the bench and can quickly replace the starter when ready. With Teague, we would obviously have to offer him a multi-year deal and I'm not sure that is why Ferry drafted Schröder for.
