Thought we were missing three point shots at the end of those games, we were in three of those games, diving for a loose ball was not part of the choking from three problem.

We lost a lot of those games because we don't have enough confidence on beating them. We have been weak mentally.  We have to change that.

We have never had talent sufficient enough to beat them.  If we did, we would've backed our way into a playoff win against them or something.  Mentality doesn't make that much of a difference.  You telling me a lineup of DellavaDLeague, Jared Dudley and the like would do anything against a team like Cleveland?

I'm not saying Dellavedova should start anywhere. He's a backup. A great one since he gives everything in order to win.

Those types of players mean nothing unless the rest of your roster is ultra-talented in a way that we aren't.  IOW, the only reason he can be effective is if you don't ask for much from him.

Scalabrine made a good point in saying Austin Rivers is probably a better target than his reputation will allow folks to see (when you factor in the fact that he should come cheap).

For the Hawks at this point, Howard is the best move they can hope for.  I have no idea why we weren't in on the Mozgov sweepstakes.

We have had talent over years but still couldn't beat LeBron in just one game in the Playoffs, because we lacked players with this mentality.

He's not a 3. Not the way NBA teams are moving further from the basket. He's a stretch 4 and should stay there.

I think people must understand this. No way we are playing Millsap, Horford and Howard together. And there is no way one of them is coming off the bench.

  5. If we get Howard it means Horford is leaving. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I think Howard would do much better in Atlanta than in Houston, we would become a better rebounding team and we would have much better interior presence but we would also lose some great things Horford has done regularly.

There is no way we would sign Howard and re-sign Horford.

  6. I'll be ok with one of the great Eurobasket games ever.  12 of 19, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 TOs doesn't quite overshadow a host of legendary games against stronger competition for me.

It was in just 36 minutes in a win or go home game. It doesn't happen often.

    Let's put it in perspective.

Only ELEVEN players have scored 40 or more points in a 7th game of a NBA series. Only 5 of them made their teams win. Each of them played more than 40 minutes.

    So, yes, it was epic.

  7. Great game but I think you are overselling it in the heat of the moment.

No one has scored more points in an Eurobasket game over the last 14 years. And it was in a semifinal in France with 27,000 frenchmen watching it live. It was brutal...

  8. @jy23 Let me know if you want to do a separate bet on who has a better overall record also between Lions and Falcons. That might be fun to do as well.

The Falcons have the easiest schedule in the NFL. If the Falcons continue playing like in Monday, be sure we'll have at least 10 W.

On the other hand the Lions have a BRUTAL schedule. NFC West, AFC West, Eagles... there are a lot of great teams there. I think I would take the Falcons.

  9. It will be an EASY win for @jy23

Just a reminder: Julio Jones has averaged more yards per game over each of last to season than Calvin Johnson.

Julio Jones averaged last year 106.2 reception yards per game. Calvin Johnson has only averaged more twice in his whole career. Expect even a better season by Julio...

With no injuries, the actual Julio Jones will have much better stats than Calvin

  10. I just made a little research and Dimitrios Agravanis, our latest draft pick, who I knew wasn't in the final squad of Greece, was in the final 14 of their team, but was the latest cut.

I don't know him a lot but that's something to remark because Greece is a great team and has good depth. I'm sure he'll be in their final squad soon.

  11. I'm convinced that we will have to trade one of two once Dennis' rookie contract is about to end. So, this year or next we should take a decision. It's too much of a luxury having those two PGs when we could have for one of them a good starter at SF or even a star if we trade a package of players.

I have also seen almost every game of Dennis in the Eurobasket and I can't see him being a top 10 PG in the NBA this year... anyway he has All-NBA potential, he'll be a top 10 PG sooner or later.
