  1. 2008, I'm in school in Atlanta.  Never really watched the NBA before, only college.  Got tickets to a Hawks game and loved every second.  From there I was hooked.  Went to all 3 playoff games that year against the Celtics.  Electric atmosphere.  There was something so fun about those JJ/Smith teams, luckily for me Horford quickly became my favorite player. As Bud continues to develop his guys, I think we have a real good shot at 55-60+ win seasons for a long time and potential for deep playoff runs.

  2. Nonsense.

The teams play has been very spotty since the allstar break.

Well I certainly don't think I hallucinated Al, Paul, Jeff and Kyle in the ASG this year, did I?

None of the Hawks all stars would be all stars in the western conference.

The eastern conference all star team was like an all star replacement team.

I think you are underselling Paul and Al right here.  Regardless, those guys had a pretty darn good record against Western Conference teams this year, did they not?  We did go 22-8 against them this year, I believe.

  3. We're about to win the next three straight.  Look it up, a lot of teams rally after learning that their best player will not be coming back.  We're about to steal back home court and win this thing in six.  Paul will feel better and Jeff will snap out of his funk.  Spurs were down 2-1 to the Mavs last year in the first round.  Heat have been down in several series against the Pacers and Celtics during their championship years.  We're going to the ECF to play the battered and bruised winner of chicago/cleveland.  I like our chances

  4. I'm confused by the question.  Why do people think we have no star players?  We are about to place three or four of our guys on the all star team, which is more than any other team in the league.

Al and Paul are studs on both ends of the floor.  They are putting up great numbers and no doubt if they were on a really bad team like the Knicks or Lakers, if they wanted could be putting up the gaudy numbers that would appease the media types even though the team around them is so weak it wouldn't result much more in wins.  It just so happens they are on a team that is so unselfish and talented that they don't need to do that.  Look at the stats around the league for these so called other stars we don't have.  They are taking 5 to 6 more shots a game than ours, some 7 or 8.  Al and Paul would each be scoring in the 20s points per game mark with that many more shots though it would hurt the team.

Jeff is having an amazing year.  His PER and efficiency stats are better than the so called point guard stars of the conference such as Wall and Irving and Lowry.  He could put up on par or better numbers too if he shot the ball as often as they did, but he doesn't have to because that wouldn't help the team.

And Kyle, is there a better two guard in this conference than him?  You guys would rather have the supposed star in DeRozen who takes twice as many shots a game as Kyle and is only shooting 40% from the field?  Meanwhile Kyle has one of the best true shooting percentages of all time.  That's the media answer but certainly not a swap I would make.

We have a genius coach and a great system, but we also have stars.  Coach Bud has done wonders for this team, but you don't compile a 37-8 record without stars on your team.  That's impossible.  Popavich had stars during all his seasons too.

I'll fight anyone who says we don't have any stars.

  5. Pray tell who would that be?

Phoenix has put their former starter Miles Plumlee on the trade block since his minutes have been replaced by Len recently.  I wonder if there's any way we could bring him in 6'11 260+, plenty young and athletic.  Not particularly skilled, but good rebounding numbers and a block in less than twenty minutes a game.  Pulled down 6 & 10 boards in two games against Detroit already this season in an average of 20 minutes of playing time.  He'd be a great backup in my opinion.
