Hawks agree to terms with Bazemore 4 years 70 mIllion
HorfordMustang replied to NBASupes's topic in Homecourt
Time for ownership to dip into the tax and show a commitment. DS/Baze/Sap/Al/Dwight starting lineup, oh my goodness! That's 1a and 1b with the cavs as the most talented starting 5 in the east. -
Dwight Howard signed with the Hawks for 3 years 70.5 million
HorfordMustang replied to NBASupes's topic in Homecourt
It will be nice to see what coach Bud can do with him. Always looked like the Rockets' culture was a bit of a disaster, which overshadowed the fact that Dwight is still a rim protecting and rebounding force. Glad he's finally coming home, heh. Going to miss big Al though -
2008, I'm in school in Atlanta. Never really watched the NBA before, only college. Got tickets to a Hawks game and loved every second. From there I was hooked. Went to all 3 playoff games that year against the Celtics. Electric atmosphere. There was something so fun about those JJ/Smith teams, luckily for me Horford quickly became my favorite player. As Bud continues to develop his guys, I think we have a real good shot at 55-60+ win seasons for a long time and potential for deep playoff runs.

Official Game Thread: Hawks - Cavaliers GAME 3 (8:30 PM Tip!)
HorfordMustang replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
If we must go down, all I ask is that our team give them hell. Make this a 6 or 7 grueling, physical, play your heart out series. That's all I want. 4 more games like this. -

Call me crazy, but the team showed me something tonight after Horford was unfairly ejected. I predicted Hawks in 7, and i'm sticking with it. We're about to make history. -
Upgrade the talent level? We have four all star players already. Do you think we need five? Six?

Well I certainly don't think I hallucinated Al, Paul, Jeff and Kyle in the ASG this year, did I? I think you are underselling Paul and Al right here. Regardless, those guys had a pretty darn good record against Western Conference teams this year, did they not? We did go 22-8 against them this year, I believe. -

We have four all stars. Health is the main issue; it's prevent us from playing our normal ball movement game. -

I know it looks dire, but i'm still sticking with Hawks in 7. We're about to win 4 of the next 5. Cavs fluke shooting from deep is going to cease. -

If that Wizard's team was garbage, then what were the Toronto Raptors? Do you think that one player from Cleveland is going to make twice as many threes as our entire roster again? Despite that disparity, Cleveland only managed to squeak out an 8 point win. -

Fluke win. JR Smith will never hit twice as many threes as our entire roster ever again As I recall, we lost game 1 last series at home and still closed out in 6, did we not? I predicted a 7 game hawks series victory, and i'm sticking with it. -

Like I said after game 3... we were gonna win this in 6. And we're about to beat the Cavs in 7 -

Championship teams make championship winning plays. This team has it. Al, my favorite Hawk of all time! I said after game 3 that we were gonna close this out in 6. I still believe it. -
Im done. Coach Bud gonna let the ship go down with Antić.........
HorfordMustang replied to atlhawks1's topic in Homecourt
We're about to win the next three straight. Look it up, a lot of teams rally after learning that their best player will not be coming back. We're about to steal back home court and win this thing in six. Paul will feel better and Jeff will snap out of his funk. Spurs were down 2-1 to the Mavs last year in the first round. Heat have been down in several series against the Pacers and Celtics during their championship years. We're going to the ECF to play the battered and bruised winner of chicago/cleveland. I like our chances -

HorfordMustang replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
Variance in shooting percentage was just bad luck. We'll be fine. Wizards aren't going to win a series on fluke shooting in both directions. We will win this series in 5 or 6. Sometimes the underdog gives it everything they have and wins the first game. We did the same thing against the Bulls in 2011. -
Dang, that was brutal. Oh well, losses help expose weaknesses and gives something for the staff and players to work on. We're still the top seed and I still can't see any team besting us four times out of seven.

HAWKS WIN HAWKS WIN. What heart our boys showed out there. No one can stop this team when we're firing on all cylinders.

Winning without some of our shutdown wings! This team has truly arrived. -
Well deserved! And people think we don't have talent. Kyle will get in now that Wade's year is done
-
I'm confused by the question. Why do people think we have no star players? We are about to place three or four of our guys on the all star team, which is more than any other team in the league. Al and Paul are studs on both ends of the floor. They are putting up great numbers and no doubt if they were on a really bad team like the Knicks or Lakers, if they wanted could be putting up the gaudy numbers that would appease the media types even though the team around them is so weak it wouldn't result much more in wins. It just so happens they are on a team that is so unselfish and talented that they don't need to do that. Look at the stats around the league for these so called other stars we don't have. They are taking 5 to 6 more shots a game than ours, some 7 or 8. Al and Paul would each be scoring in the 20s points per game mark with that many more shots though it would hurt the team. Jeff is having an amazing year. His PER and efficiency stats are better than the so called point guard stars of the conference such as Wall and Irving and Lowry. He could put up on par or better numbers too if he shot the ball as often as they did, but he doesn't have to because that wouldn't help the team. And Kyle, is there a better two guard in this conference than him? You guys would rather have the supposed star in DeRozen who takes twice as many shots a game as Kyle and is only shooting 40% from the field? Meanwhile Kyle has one of the best true shooting percentages of all time. That's the media answer but certainly not a swap I would make. We have a genius coach and a great system, but we also have stars. Coach Bud has done wonders for this team, but you don't compile a 37-8 record without stars on your team. That's impossible. Popavich had stars during all his seasons too. I'll fight anyone who says we don't have any stars.

Even in a sloppy game we are dominating. This team can't be stopped -
If Ferry has to go for his comment he read off of a report, then I guess Bud has to go for that DUI arrest. Oh well it was a nice run.

Phoenix has put their former starter Miles Plumlee on the trade block since his minutes have been replaced by Len recently. I wonder if there's any way we could bring him in 6'11 260+, plenty young and athletic. Not particularly skilled, but good rebounding numbers and a block in less than twenty minutes a game. Pulled down 6 & 10 boards in two games against Detroit already this season in an average of 20 minutes of playing time. He'd be a great backup in my opinion.
