Y'all just keep making excuse after excuse for this dude!!!  No one is forcing Bud to do the things he is currently doing.  Management is not delusional about Bud's value..Bud is over valuing his importance in the NBA all by himself.  The cold reality will hit Bud at some point and he will realize that he is not in as much demand as he thinks because his resume is not all that great.  Aside from a marvelous 1 month during his career, his record has been close to .500...Not good.  I actually hope someone wants Bud and is willing to give up compensation.  But even I know that at this point it will be highly unlikely.  He will likely serve out his last 2 years here and continue a mediocre career with another team cause ain't no stars recommending his services to their GM's.

I heard through the grapevine that NY could offer us Mudiay and a 2nd rd pick. lol..(just a rumor from a friend up North). I guess people wanting a 1st rdr for DUI Bud can keep dreaming..haha.. I like him, but he's starting to get on my damn nerves........Im a Hawks fan more than IM a Bud fan...

You say that like the Hawks are in a better situation than the Knicks.  They have a borderline All-NBA player to build around.

lol. NO they dont...Hes not even an All star yet..Coming off an ACL injury. Hell, I heard he might not even play next season....

There is a chance Pop could retire but it's unlikely.

Sitting around the house isnt the best thing to do after losing a spouse from my experience..My mom actually went back to work fulltime(after being retired for yrs) after my stepfather passed..POp isnt going anywhere just yet. Imo anyway.

Count me among the most strongly suspicious that Pop is about to step down. The man looked tired already before losing his wife. If ever there was a set of circumstances predicting a coach would strongly consider taking a break, or outright retiring, I think this set ranks up there.

    So.

Also count me among the most strongly suspicious that removing his name from the Suns candidates is only a preface to stepping back into the Spurs operation. I think Bud knows already what the rest of us are only going to learn later.

THe Spurs are worse off than we are once Kawhi bolts..Add that to losing POp, and theyre bottom feeders out WEst..

1-1 without their best player is not “getting ran out of the first round”. I know pride is a mother******

2-1 is definitely not getting ran out of the 1st rd. lol

No the Wizards took care of us easily in the 1st round last year. You're thinking of 2 years ago when the Cavs absolutely destroyed us in 4 games. Or maybe the year before that when they... absolutely destroyed us in 4 games. What a shame that we couldn't have another fun year of that.

    Oh yeah. lol

The irony is they fired the guy that drafted them all.  Also they got alot wrong too, MCW, Noel, and Okafor. Will agree to disagree they drafted well but it's not easy to get that many picks while getting the picks right. Injuries played a huge role in that.

It will be interesting to follow their window.  They can't pay all those players so they'll have to continue to prove they can draft well outside of the lottery. You can't spend 24m on JJ when these rookie deals come up. They have a bright future,  but people are acting like they a guaranteed a championship now. A lot will still have to go right.

Nobody said anything about them being guaranteed a Championship now. Someone said they werent the best young team in the NBA..THat was the argument...

There isn’t one. Embiid is better than every young player on both Boston and Utah. Simmons is a big time talent too. I can keep going but I think most us already know how talented this Philly squad is.

And they missed on Jalil OKafur during the tank.. Imagine if they wouldve taken Porzingis that year. Oh my..

Philly definitely is the best young team in the league. They’re on the OKC trajectory. Just a stud team with young players with high end talent. Imagine if they didn’t tank and kept the treadmill they had going.

    EXactly..

Kinda done with tanking...Just seems like The Hawks are destine to compete the hard way without a superstar player!  This team just can catch a break.  I don't want to sound like a Debbie downer but maybe @KB21 is right for the wrong reasons.  The Ping pong balls are just not going to go our way ever.  The one time it did, we drafted Marvin Williams and the other 2 times we got at least the 3rd pick we traded Pau Gasol and drafted Horford who is a nice player but not that Superstar.

So from hence forward, I am against tanking!  Even if we get the #1 pick in this year's draft and especially if we are outside the top 3 or 4 picks in the lottery.  At some point you are what you are and the Hawk's ceiling is being a good team not a championship contender. You need a few breaks to go your way to get to that next level and those thing just don't happen to the Hawks.

    Hopefully I'm wrong.

We'll get top 5. You'll still get one of your guys....It'll be ok. lol

I highly doubt the hawks make 5 (or even 4) picks. IF they do at least 1 will be an overseas stash imo.

Youre probably right. I was just fkn around. I really have no idea what we're gonna do. lol

No one wants him. The best we can hope for is to trade him in the last year of his deal as a salary dump.

If Bud leaves I won't miss his personnel decisions. I'm sure he thinks he knows more than Schlenk.

Dennis was a pretty good pick at 17, if you cancel out Nogueira. lol. Prince/Bembry was good. That Adreian payne pick tho.........

  13. Send him to Minnesota for a lottery protected 1st next year, and their 2nd rdr this year#48(take Shake MIlton there)..He can hook back up with Teague( or they can move Jeffs sorry ass). Meanwhile it gives us another year of watching the Wolves fight for the Playoffs. THat was kinda fun. lol.

JUst for shit and giggles(and because Im bored) hows this:

    #4 Bamba/JJJ(we need a BIG w upside. (Bye PLumlee)

    #18 Robert Williams(See ya Moose/Cavanaugh)

#30 Landry Shamet(Dennis' replacement. High IQ player. Can also play the 2)

#33 Keita Bates-Diop(could always use another wing with upside)

#48 Shake MIlton(It was nice knowing you Delaney)

    Shamet/Taylor/Milton

    Baze/Dorsey/Shamet

    Prince/Bembry/Bates-Diop

    Collins/Williams

    DEdmon/Bamba/Williams

THen draft starting SG to replace Baze and backup center for Bamba in rd 2 (2019)...(wed possibly have 2 more lottery picks next year after the dennis trade. Take BPA there.). Even if you dont like this mock, you have to admit, we have OPTIONS now.....We'll be good again before you knowit...........TRust the process. lol

    Not this again!  LOL!

He doesnt. Top 3 picks cost too much $. SChlenk and the owners arent willing to pay that kind of bread ..If they were, they wouldve kept MIllsap,Howard, Hardaway, etc.. Also, If he wanted the top pick, he wouldve forced Bud to tank at the end of the year, like he did earlier in the season. (Because we all know Coach bud wanted no part of it). It was all SChlenk..Bud has too much pride for that kind of shizz... So during the last few games, Bud said "fk Schlenk and the Hawks". Lets win a few meaningless games. THey dont deserve the top pick(even thought they gave me my 1st Head coaching opportunity).. THats why he's leaving for Phoenix. He wants to be in a winning organization. Not this atrocious, lottery bound for the next decade, of a team. Havent you heard?

I like Bud, he’s a very good coach who could be great if he wasn’t so stubborn. He’s a HORRIBLE PBO/GM though. If he’s going to the Suns and will be given more power, good luck with that.

I hope he stays. Hawks U would definitely take a step back if we lose him. Then again, it already did when Snyder and Atkinson left. Jent seems like an asset on that front, still. I’m reserving judgment for now, it’s just an interview and there’s a possibility he stays.

If he bolts to Phoenix it definitely isn’t because he doesn’t want to be part of a tanking/rebuild process, such horse$shit. I was just mentioning in a post the other day how he was born and raised in Arizona, went to college in SoCal. It’ll be because he and Schlenk aren’t seeing eye to eye on picks and direction. Damn, I’ll have to clear out my auto fill from typing “Schlenkholzer” after only 2 letters.

Hawks better be swapping those 1st and 4th picks, as well as getting the 16th if a Bud deal goes down. 1st, 16th, 19th, 30th, and 33rd is a HAUL. Whether used or bundled. Grab Ayton or Doncic at 1, then bundle the 16th and 19th to move up for a 2nd lottery pick. Schlenk nailed it with Collins and Dorsey, so I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt there. Nails this draft too and we have us a GM folks.

As long as we’re going there, replacement coach. NO Mark Jackson. Dude tried to heal Steph’s ankle with holy oil from his congregation. Shit you not. No thanks Mark. I say get Quin Snyder back in here, any Schlenk connection there? Fitz is intriguing, former assistant in both Oakland and Atlanta. Jay Wright is interesting, a 2-time champ who’s always sniffing the finals and would be coaching young guys. Go ahead and sign up 3zus as an assistant and get it over with. I’m sure Schlenk has someone in mind, as long as it ain’t Jackson.

Hope Bud stays, if he goes I hope we get #1 pick, Snyder would be a cool replacement, and if Schlenk nails these picks like he did last year we good. Would hate to see that Bud wave go though...

If Phoenix gives up all of that for Bud, who the hell is he gonna coach? lol. But seriously, I cant see them giving up 16 and swapping picks...Besides, I dont think Schlenk wants the #1 pick anyway....
