Of course you shouldn't expect the same. THe Hawks aren't doubling ticket prices across the board that I know of. If the Hawks were putting an across the board 20% increase in ticket prices and lowering payroll then I'd think you would have reason to complain. But just because they have tickets that cost more than you would like to spend in my mind doesn't mean you should expect the team to pay the luxury tax.

I'm perfectly willing to increase my investment in the team, if the team invests in itself. If they have to pay the luxury tax to compete, then that’s what they have to do. If you want to be frugal, don’t go into the entertainment business and don’t ask me to splurge on your product.

drzachary- If you don't like worrying about financial considerations I suggest you start following leagues with no salary cap and just find the most popular team as they can afford to spend more than everyone else. I like it that the NBA makes it more difficult to just keep spending and spending to improve the team. If the NBA didn't have the luxury tax then I think the Hawks would have no chance at all to ever win a championship.

I mean its not your money so you might as well wish for a 200 million dollar payroll and for the ASG to pay an extra 130 million of luxury tax money. I just don't see the point of it so I'll only criticize the owners if they are passing up something that makes a real difference for the chances of the team.

Shortly after the team resigned Joe, I got an email from my season ticket rep., who wanted me to upgrade to floor seats directly behind the visiting team's bench. For me, that would be more than a 100% increase in my investment in the team. Should I not expect the same?

Sevin the game comes on the next morning at 10:00 AM on NBATV for Direct TV. I just did a search for Atlanta Hawks on the direct tv search screen and I was able to schedule all 5 game to record on my DVR. The scheduled times in the article don't match up with Dircet TV's schedule. In general they come on the next day in the AM.

Just as a follow up, as of last night my Directv guide doesn't have the game scheduled. There's another game scheduled for 10:00pm

For those of us who have Time Warner as our cable provider, is there any other way to watch the games by stream?

I almost never post (as you can see from my reg. date & my post count) since I don’t have much time to argue with so many of you that I disagree with, but I do visit the site at least once daily. I’m in my forties and have lived in Atlanta since I was a small child. My first Hawks game was at GA Tech before they built the Omni but I didn’t become a serious fan until about 15 years ago. Never played basketball a day in my life but I did play both types of football in college. I’ve worked in the entertainment industry most of my life and had the pleasure of coaching for a living (not basketball) for a couple of years.

I’m married with 2 kids, both college athletes and love watching them play. I love watching Futbol (that’s soccer to most of you), The Hawks and Falcons and don’t have any interest in baseball or hockey. Unlike many of you I don’t think BK has done that bad of a job, but I think Woody is a nightmare for most young players and would do better with a more experienced team. Love the site!

I didn't see or listen to the game but I noticed in the box score that Hortford had 14 and 11. I've heard the negatives...was there anything positive about this?

That's because the Chicago station is on a "clear Channel", like 750 is here in Atlanta. They don't have to power down at night because they have exclusive use of that dial position.

Okay, a couple of questions. Is a Krystal Corn Pup sufficient? Will a Morningstar veggie corn dog get the desired effect?

He did say Sheldon would have to earn the spot but he also stated that they are hopeful that because of his maturity he's ready to assume the starting position.

I also noticed that when he talked about depth, he mentioned everyone but Grundy and Edwards and I'm hoping that means Edwards will be going with Al. He also mentioned Solomon and said that he wouldn't have any pressure and would have time to develop. Does this mean NBDL for him?

Didn't they just exercise they're option on Royal? Isn't he guaranteed for next year now?

Has Batman played any at center? I thought he's been subbing at the 4. I went to the 1st game and he DNP and I've listened to pieces of each of the others and I thought that he'd only played 4.

Same with Marvin. Has he played any 4? I thought only 3.

I hope I'm wrong on both accounts.

Camp exposes depth, desire

Interesting that the team with Smoove, Marvin and Lue won the scrimmage. What positions were Smoove and Marvin playing if they were on the same team?

They said they were going to show all of the teams but I haven't been able to find anything definitive. If anyone sees or hears please post it.
