  1. Yeah Luther is one of the few series I had to tune into. I tried to "space it out" and restrain myself from running through the season in a day. So I just watched nightly. American Horror Story and Walking dead are my other must watch series. I have Copper queued up in the on deck spot.

  2. With the next selection in the draft the Amazing Alex's (name pending) choose Alexey Shved.

This was Shved's reaction when he found out where he was going to be playing next season. Either way he is a decent ball handler and has proven he can score in this league. And as a third option can run the point guard position with no worries.

  3. Perkins used to have the BEST breakfasts, hands down. Huge servings of everything.

    ~lw3

lol out here in Denver I past by Perkins all the time like wtf is a wafflehouse when you need one....

I wouldn't take perk for those 2 years if that's the case. Don't know what he has left in the tank but he is a big body with grit. Is the talent/price better than Ivan who kind of fills the same role

  4. I was trying to cook up a little drama/suspense with my pick initially. Not knowing I would have to step away for a couple of hours, I was not able to go into detail about my pick.

So to clear up confusion, and to avoid having my player being picked(Novak,Thompson) while I play head games, I will go ahead and say that my first pick is Markieff Morris, and I will leave the other Morris up for grabs. Sorry about the confusion, but I expected to be online to jaw back and forth etc.

That being said. With the 217th pick in the Hawksquawk summer dynasty draft Chinky Eyed Hawk does not pick the other Morris sibling and instead opts to go with Razor Ramon Sessions pg.

  5. The Atlanta GanstaSlappas Select:

    Jason Thompson

In Thompson, we get a credible 4/5 who will get some minutes on a Kings team. Thompson is probably the best Post up guy in Sacramento and will be called on either for spot minutes or to play many minutes if Cousins get out of hand.

    Buzzard has been pmd

Dammit!!! wait? I thought I was up next? what did I miss?

  6. It should mean the return of both Schröder and possibly Muscala at least, maybe even BeBe. I am not sure we play in Vegas every year, and we don't usually find out until June/July anyway but I would be game to meet others

  7. It sucks that everyone puts all their eggs in one basket with this team. For a lot of fans here it seems like there is this championship or bust mentality and while I agree with most, that we have been nothing more than a 2nd round playoff team at best, I don't agree with the championship or tank mentality.

I try not to chime in on this subject as everyone has their opinion and most won't be swayed to the other side of the conversation no matter what side of the fence you are on. But I will like to point out a couple of things:

In any offseason, for the most part there are no more than let's say 2-3 TOP tier free agents. These are the bonofied superstars, with their brand in place, multiple all-star appearances, best player on any team they would go to type players. Then there's the serviceable group, be it starters on the verge of being greater or key players to start or come off the bench. Then there's everyone else... be it potential, change of scenery, playing style, etc.

No matter how much money you can throw at a player(max deals), who's on your rosters, the coaching staff, or the city, It's up to the player to make the decision. All that being said, You can make the best pitch possible no matter if you are the mighty lakers, the "treadmill" hawks", or the lowly bobcats it's ultimately up to the player to make the best decision for himself, his family, and his brand. It's easy to say that DF has failed because he didn't get that 1 player you thought you he should get, but its not that simple people. A gm's ahead of the curve if he gets close to 40-50% of his decisions right. That's how tough that role is people. If you did 40% of your job right, you probably wouldn't have the job in the first place, and it damn sure wouldn't be viewed as a success I assure you.

All that being said, I don't think Danny has made a single "wrong" move. Sure Brand isn't Spry, but he still very serviceable. I would even dare to say more so at this stage in his career than when we got Bibby, which for this franchise was the most solid move in a very long time. It's not like we are resting out hopes on Antoine Walker or anything... lol

If you can start by bringing in nice "secondary" personnel to the team, it makes the team more competitive overall and ultimately makes it easier for that "superstar of tomorrow" to say, "they have nice pieces, I like what they are doing in Atlanta, they've been a playoff team for the past 6 years and just need that piece to get over the hump, and I want to be a part of it."

This is the hawks I see DF building. The one where he had to clean up Billy's choices FIRST. Get the type of players that will buy into the system next, then have those pieces attracted that $$$$$$$$$ FA everyone wants.

  8. I think the important thing to recognize here is that throughout the signings, everyone has said the same thing be it returning guys or those new to the fold and that is...

"Danny is building something special here and I want to be a part of that."

I have to say it was said by everyone we signed if I am not mistaken. Whatever Kool-Aid DF is stirring up, whoever sips from glass wants more and that's key.

  9. With the 181st Pick in the Hawksquawk Summer Fantasy Draft Chinky Eyed Hawk is glad to welcome

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Team. Opting to draft for talent over positional need, we decide to bring in yet another offensive weapon in a young and developing shooter who can create his own shot as well as pull up at any given moment. Our promising and bright future featuring our youth movement continues....

  10. We're not sure if this is a commentary on the Cav's drafting ability or more generally on the weakness of the 2013 draft, but either way it is time for the #1 overall pick's slide to stop and to set a record that should be held for many years for the latest anyone was able to nab that year's #1 pick. With the 174th pick in the draft, the U-Niques select:

    Anthony Bennett

    Posted Image

This pick brings both range and athleticism. Draft Express rates him:

Ranking in the top-four in both transition and half court scoring efficiency, Bennett's athleticism and shooting ability shine through in this study.

Bennett did a little bit of everything for UNLV. He scored an impressive 1.39 PPP as a finisher at the rim, the second best mark among his peers and the byproduct of his above average efficiency scoring on put backs and cuts.

In addition to the efficiency his athleticism afforded him around the basket, Bennett also proves to be a potent jump shooter on paper. Ranking fifth in this group with 3.5 jump shot attempts per-game and fourth scoring 1.06 points per-jump shot, Bennett has uncommon scoring ability from the perimeter for player with his physical gifts. http://www.draftexpress.com#ixzz2ZBD3zf8w

He also profiles as a plus rebounder as a pro, which is a trait valued by the U-Niques (by way of example, he grabbed 12.5% more rebounds per minute than Cody Zeller). While we already have a healthy group of forwards, Bennett will provide perimeter shooting to help stretch the floor and has potential to be an impact player down the line rather than simply a bench rotation player.

When he buries your team after you try to double on Dwight, there is only one thing you can do. Blame Canada.

It's not even a real country anyway.

PG: Jose Calderon / Brandon Jennings

    SG: Dwyane Wade

SF: Luol Deng / Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

PF: Kevin Garnett / Enes Kanter / Anthony Bennett

C: Dwight Howard / Jonas Valanciunas

I had a really hard time passing on Bennet with my last pick. I ultimately felt like I should grab a shooter which is the only reason I passed. Hoped he fell this time around but it tough having to wait on players being on the bookends of the rounds. My last round was a flub as I overlooked D Grainger and chose to pass up Bennet.

  11. You can say this again. Weems is very underwhelming. Gladyr is interesting.

What do you think about the guy who we have that spent 2 10 day contracts with the Spurs?

    Also...

I believe it should be mandated that all rookies that make our team must wear the florescent green sneakers.

Yeah what gives with no playing time for Gladyr?

Who are you speaking of as far as the 10 day contracts?

My girl watched game 2 only cause Dennis had on those brons. Women and shoes.....
