Wait, are we talking about treadmill lottery teams, treadmill middle-of-the-pack teams, or treadmill contenders?
-
You should be forced to wear a scarlet "R" for "rumormonger!"

I'm beginning to think there's something to that "Spurs avoid AAU players" idea, and that maybe Ferry is trying it out.
Out with the entitled crybabies -- in with the Dennis Schröders of the world.

Should we fire up another classic mid-summer thread about the Hawks and attendance, prices, Atlanta demographics, infrastructure, alternative entertainment options, marketing, and anything else pertaining to their business?
Beats tanking threads.

Tired old topic. Blame the customer when the product doesn't sell!
The Heat and the Celtics are good examples -- when they don't contend, their fan bases are invisible. Obviously, the Heat will pack their arena for LeBron; do you think we wouldn't?

Anyone want to wager with me?
If the Pistons finish above the Hawks this season, I'll donate $40 to the Squawk and you donate $10.
If the Hawks finish above the Pistons, $10 for me and $40 for you.
(I like it structured this way because everyone should contribute here.)
Tiebreaker = head to head record. 2nd tiebreaker = point margin.
Any takers?

How did we get so many fragile egos on this team?

Definitely match this deal. He's worth more now, and probably will improve now that our PF will make an outlet pass.

Boo him when he comes back to Philips. Boo him mercilessly (but cheer those bricks!)He had a chance to be a professional, then he opened his mouth. Reminds me of Terry.

Yeah he already retired.
Hawksfanatic pointed out that the Hawks had to have tendered him every year in the interim too. :)
-
In my eyes, Schröder = High schooler.
He's development league material because of his size and experience.
You guys kill me calling him a probably starter. We would play Shelvin Mack and Enis Whatley before we call up Dennis.
This is a discussion that needs it's own thread but let's say the truth.
Dennis is not a NBA level player yet.
he is 6'1 168. 1 freakin 6'8".
He was originally picked as a cash stash!! That means we could hide him overseas until he develops more.
Let me give you some examples...
[*]Cenk Akyol
[*]Alain Digbeu
[*]Mike Muscala
[*]Lucas Riva
This is our list of guys who we have draft rights too. These are guys who are cash stashes. Sofoklis Schortsanitis = Baby Shaq. He was drafted a long time ago. Before Shelden I believe. Cash stash. The only guy I believe that has a chance to make our team is Mike Muscala. He has the size. Dennis may make the team only so that Ferry can put him in the NBADL.
Don't forget Alain Digbeu.

Secret summer league roster addition..... Bynum? :D
-
It's still surprising me that our summer league team STILL hasn't been announced by now smh lol
I'm sure Viv is on the case.

So glad I was too busy today to do much Squawking.
I'll donate $5 (more) to HawkSquawk if DJ's account is permanently branded, scarlet letter style :)

I love it. I'll let hawksfanatic tell us if it's possible to get Bynum + a premiere PG though.
-
PF - Horford (17); Millsap (31)C - Bynum (30), Horford (18)
Truth! With the option to 'go big' if Bud wanted to try it, with all 3 on the floor at once.
-
Then trade Teague for Jennings and have floor spacing and a better PnR player.
Jennings
Korver
maybe a defensive SF
Horford
Bynum
Is Bynum still rumored to be making his decision today?
Could we still S&T Jeff? I'm still sadly an ignoramus when it comes to the CBA's details. Jeff resigned over the cap, though, maybe?
Your starting 5 would be Jeff, Korver, Junkyard, Horf and Knees, with Millsy, Sweet Lou, Jenkins, World's Best Boss making up a solid 2nd team foundation and Cunningham + Muscles for mop-up minutes. That's only 11, so you'd still need a backup point and some other filler, or bring the rookies over.
-
I think a team built around Horford/Bynum is the best frontline in the East -- with Bynum's knees a BIG caveat -- and can make the ECF. Millsap/Lou would be the best 2nd-unit tandem in the league.
DO IT FERRY

As for the metric itself, I see it kind of like democracy: the best of a bunch of imperfect options.
-
Really, if there's any takeaway for the average fan (whoever that is) from reading those books, it's two words: misses matter.
-
If we sign Ellis somebody's gettin' punched in they damn neck.
Forwarding your comments to the Hawks front office..
-
To the OP: nope. There's just not, sadly. LeBron isn't walking through that door!
-
I think 9M is a good value for him. I think he'd probably sign something like 4x8 though!
-
Well they projected us 2nd last year too. They were right for about a week.
They had us at 46 wins last year -- not too far off!

I'm a big fan of this signing, since it helps us avoid the treadmill.
