This message is to remind you guys that you have teams in the Hawksquawk fantasy league this year since it appears that you two have not touched your teams since joining the league. Please remember that when you joined the league, you made a commitment to your team and to the other owners to manage your team throughout the season. I mentioned before that the quality and competitiveness of the league suffer greatly when there are dead teams. Thus, I would like to remind you guys, on behalf of the league, that the season starts tomorrow, so you should manage your respective teams accordingly. Thanks!

Traditionally, the Hawksquawk fantasy league has been highly competetive because the owners have been dedicated to their respective teams. If you are a new member to the league or are interested in joining for the first time, please keep this in mind. It is never fun to have two or three dead teams in a league because the owner stopped caring. Therefore, please only join the league if you can make a season long commitment to your team. Thanks!

Ok, I went ahead and started it up. Yeah my brother and I are both running the football league. My brother more than me since I've been busy. I'll have more time now though. Hopefully we can get as many people back from last year as possible.

I will follow in JTFan's and Dolfan's footsteps and take over the role of commisioner this year. Following in the tradition of past years, it is on yahoo, and the format is practically identical to last year's. The draft will be next weekend (in 8 days) to leave time for some pre-season trading, which means we really need to fill this league fast. This league has been successful and fun in the past in large part because of active ownership. Therefore I request that past owners and new owners send me an e-mail to get the league info rather than me posting it on this forum. Hopefully this will prevent owners from just joining on a whim. I've been waiting for the original league to be started again too. I haven't seen or heard anything from JTFan about it. Even if we don't hear from him, I think we should organize it soon though, since the season is right around the corner. I don't mind being the commish in JTFan's stead, as I just came back from a long trip and I have some time on my hands now. I haven't commished the squawk basketball league before, but if another commish can't be found, I can do it. Hopefully we can get most of the members from previous years back. I finished in the top 4 last year and I'm hungry for revenge. So what do you guys think? Should I start up Hawksquawk IV or not?

Sorry to post in this forum, but I feel it's necessary to generate awareness. We had a hawk squawk football league a couple of years ago, and I think it's time to get another one started. Leagues with just random people in it never get off the ground, and I feel like everybody here is competetive enough to make any fantasy league very interesting. To that end, I have created a league especially for hawk squawkers. For specific information, go to my post in the fantasy leagues forum of this messageboard.

Still have many openings for the league. As a side note, ESPN leagues require that the league invitation be e-mailed, which is the reason I need your e-mail address in order for you to be included. So if you don't wanna e-mail me, but still want to be included , just post your email address as a reply to this message.

I have created a fantasy football league especially for hawksquawkers, so anybody here who has an interest in football is more than welcome to join. The one requisite though is that you will make a concerted effort to stay with your team and play for the championship throughout the course of the season. I am hoping that this league will be competetive. League Details: Hopefully we can get 16 owners. That would mean 16 teams, with 4 teams each in 4 divisions. The winners of each division and two wild cards (for a total of 6 teams) will make the playoffs. The rest will play in a consolation bracket. The hosting site will be ESPN, which has made their fantasy football leagues free this year. The scoring is relatively standard, but I based it on a system that equalizes the values of qbs, rbs, and wrs. Make sure you pay attention to the scoring system when you draft. First you say that you're not going to waste time with depressing and whining fans and then you come right back and say that you've been reading old posts, which if you ask me, isn't exactly the most efficient use of your time.
