These are $140 combined face value, also with a parking pass that is worth $20. I'll take $100 for everything.

Hey guys, sorry if this topic has been discussed a lot already...I haven't been on here in a while, just wanted to know if our names are popping up in any potential trades?
I haven't seen the Hawks mentioned once in a trade scenario on ESPN or any other place...Maybe I just haven't been following it closely enough!
-
I think at this point, we have to assume Acie Law is not an option, given his lack of playing time.
With Bibby becoming a FA, what should we do? Sign him to an extension? If so, to how long of a contract? He's getting old.
Are there any good FA PG's this coming offseason?

I just got 4 tickets to the Hawks-Celtics game on the 17th! :line dance:

I am not ready to pronounce us as "arrived" yet, but I do have a good feeling about this team.
I honestly think Marvin developing a 3 point shot opens up the court SO much more. Woody's coaching has been fantastic so far, as well. He has a great defensive mind.
Here's to hoping we keep it up!
-
That 3 pointer is deadly.
Straight up deadly. If he is consistent with that shot it changes everything in respect to what Atlanta can do on Offense.
100% absolutely agree. Marvin being able to stretch the court is HUGE!!! REALLY opens up our offense.

How freaking awesome was that intro video that they had put together and showed before the games?
It is real rough in this clip, but I had forgotten about it until I ran across this.

Happy Birthday, Graymule!
Great to hear you are doing well.

Atlanta Hawks General Manager Rick Sund announced tonight that the club has retained forward Josh Smith and matched the offer sheet of the Memphis Grizzlies.
“Tonight, the Hawks organization received an offer sheet from the Memphis Grizzlies for Josh Smith,” said Sund. “We are happy to announce that we will match their offer sheet. Ownership, management and the team are happy to have Josh return as a member of the Hawks. We look forward to training camp in October and we will continue to look at additional opportunities to improve our roster.”
Smith, whom the Hawks drafted with the 17th pick overall in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft, has finished second in the NBA in blocks per game in each of the past two years and averaged team-highs in blocks per game (2.80) and steals per game (1.57), while also ranking second on the Hawks in points per game (17.2), rebounds per game (8.2) and assists per game (3.4) in 81 appearances last season
So, obvious, stupid question....
Now we have Josh Smith for the next 5 years under contract at $58M?

:thumbsupsmileyanim: Congratulations you have just fallin to Zone03's trap.
MW is suspended the first game. :laughing5:
Hahaha...Good one, man.

Josh Smith/Marvin Williams/ 2010 1st round pick for Greg Oden.
-
Who do you recommend SNT'ing him for?
My dream is Kaman, but obviously that isn't going to happen.
-
Thanks for all the options!
-
Who are the big free agents that year?
Seems to me that with Bibby coming off the books (15M), we will have a whole lot of money to play around with.
I know Marvin will be an RFA...Unless he improves a lot, I'm fine SNT'ing him for draft picks or whatever if we could get a really good FA in here in his place.

If you could keep it running all the way until Joe is done screaming, that would be awesome.
The chest bump with Josh Smith is awesome too, but if you think the file would be too big, don't worry about that last part.
-
Would it help if you cut out the chest bump w/ Josh Smith?
Thanks for the help, man!
-
Thanks, Rick!
Is there any way to make it bigger? Like 2X bigger?
-
That 3 pointer in game 4.
Signature size would be nice.
Would be very much appreciated.

He can cover many SF's adequately on defense, but I don't think his offense will ever be refined enough to be a SF on that end of the floor.
He does not have a good enough shot or ball handling skills to be put at SF full time.
PF is where he will make a name for himself. He is quicker than just about any other PF in the league.
I agree about Horford, I wish there was some way to keep them both...Horford at C just doesn't sound great to me. He had a great rookie year there, but he would be better at PF.
I think we'll eventually have to trade one for a Center, and as much as I love Josh Smith, I think it needs to be him that goes.
Horford will be a better man to man defender and much more consistent. I believe Horford will end up being the better player, even though Smoove's potential is still through the roof.
Get someone like Kaman in here for Smoove and I am a very happy man.
-
Give me Kaman/Cuttino Mobley for Smith/Speedy/future 1st and you've got a deal.
Mobley gives us a solid back-up SG.
Bibby/Law
JJ/Mobley
Marvin/Chillz
Horford/FA
Kaman/Zaza
That is a bad ass team.
-
I want this to get worked out quickly.
I love Josh Smith, but I am fine with him going to the Clips in an SNT if Kaman is involved (I doubt they'd trade him).
Otherwise sign the contract and let us match.
-
I'd love to get Kaman.
-
Why?
If I remember correctly, they play AL HARRINGTON at Center much of the time...Small ball is their game.
They need a PG.
-
Bibby for Biedrins/CJ Watson
Would that work money wise? They need a PG to keep Ellis at SG, and Bibby got a HUGE expiring contract (15M).
Law/Watson
JJ/Richardson
Marvin/Chillz
Smoove/Horford/Zaza
Horford/Biedrins/Zaza
Passing along some info

Source on this is good. Not much more I can say for someone who doesn't post much on here, but figured y'all would be interested.
Draft:
The Hawks had Payne ranked #12 on their board. They like him but really wanted Saric. They thought about trading up for him but decided against it. They are very excited for Tavares. They had him ranked 19.
FA:
As has been reported, the Hawks are going to push as hard as they can for Melo or LeBron. Not much expectation anything will happen but they're going to try.
Current team:
Budenholzer and Ferry are incredibly encouraged about the chemistry with the team. Apparently everyone except Lou Williams has been doing voluntary team workouts every day. They have never seen a team this close before.
Trades:
The biggest idea being kicked around is Horford for Klay Thompson. Not sure if I'd want that and neither are they.
