  1. BIAS-NESS

Ok, I'm reversing the internet's long running destruction of the word 'bias'.

Bias is the noun. "You have a bias in favor of Marvin."

Biased is the adjective. "You are biased in favor of Marvin."

Somewhere biased got replaced by bias and bias was bastardized into biasity, biasness, etc. It's so painfully wrong it keeps me up at night.

    Now continue, gentlemen.

  2. I don't really see how Marvin being signed for $8 million prevents the Hawks from being a championship team. There are far greater problems with the roster than a decent SF making decent money. Signing Marvin to an affordable, very tradeable deal like this doesn't prevent the team from making future moves. I agree that the team likely isn't going past the 2nd round as constructed but what's the solution? There is no mythical true center available out there. And Woody will still be driving the offense into the ground. If you want to balk at resigning Marvin then you might as well blow up the roster...again. Otherwise the team will just be regressing rather than being reborn.

  3. I'm disheartened that the mediocre Perkins and Powe are able to stuff us inside with impunity. Horford is just not a center. And Bibby is a SG playing point. I'm afraid we're not going to get past the 1st round with a talented but flawed team.

  4. I heard it from you first . We got a SF who is trying to put on weight AND learning how to shoot a three - where is this guy from - Zimbabwe?

    It makes no sense.

What's wrong with that? Extending his range and strengthening for drives to the hoop are exactly what he needs to do as a SF scoring threat. These are good things.

  5. I think David Stern was like "you know what F this, Atlanta is a huge sports market and these jackasses are going lose the leauge some money. Hey Memphis can you please offer a deal so they can get this over with?"

Stern better be worrying about the other ref Donaghy called before and after every game.

  6. Of corse things were OK. I mean its not like one of our best young players bolted for Greece this summer and we got JACKSHYYT for him. lol I mean that kind of thing happens all the time to good organizations right.

Childress wanted to start. His post Hawks comments tacitly admitted this. The die was originally cast with the drafting of Marvin. I blame Knight for burning two straight lottery picks on SF's. You can argue who is better but I never saw the two coexisting longterm or the team paying for both. It would be silly to wrap up $15+ million in a position manned by two average players who limit one another's court time. How many times was Marvin yanked mid-1st quarter despite having a hot hand? Part of it was Woody's idiocy, sure, but the "need" to give Childress his minutes also played a factor.

It's also not wise to spend way over the MLE for a bench player. And while Evans isn't as good as Childress he's certainly close enough that $2.5 million for his services is a better investment than $7 million for Josh. It's extra room for keeping JJ and Horford in the future. I'd also prefer having Evans outside the arc and Smith in the post instead of Smith outside the arc and Childress in the post

  7. The news out of Memphis just offers further proof that Sekou has no sources, just a keyboard.

At this point I'd rather the AJC hire Diesel instead. Neither has real sources but the latter can be entertaining. Of course some may find Sekou's irrelevant blogs about what socks he put on this morning riveting.

  8. If the ASG just matches, the idiots will be patting themselves on the back for getting him a affordable price, even though they hurt the player's psyche, the fan base, the city, possibly team chemistry, all while creating loads of bad PR around the league making us the Clippers of the East (Im not even sure, if we can be called the Clippers, our ownership maybe WORSE)

Have you ever negotiated a transaction in your life? If I'm offered a salary 10% lower than I want I either haggle or don't take it. At no point in the process do I get my psyche hurt. Anyone fragile enough to let that happen is not worth $12 much less $12 million. Thankfully I'm sure Smith understands this and will be perfectly content with $58 million (after waiting a whole month...oh the humanity!).

I want Josh signed because he makes the Hawks better. But if he left it would be nice if the Smoove-only entourage moved on with him.
