I wonder how much he would have fetched on the open market, and how how well we would have done without him. They swore we would have regressed without Joe, but somehow I doubt it. At the very least, we would have had flexibility to sign free agents.

We wouldn't have had much cap flexibility really because we would have been close to the cap even without his contract. This offseason or the next though that might be true though.

I'm with you Gray Mule, this was a failure by the whole offense in the 4th, not just Josh.

The problem was that the only open shots our offense was getting was for Josh. If the defense is shutting everyone down and leaving Josh open for jumpers, that isn't all Josh's fault, a lot of it goes back to our ball movement/player movement and offensive play calling.

Josh definitely made some dumb decisions, but the Hawks had only scored 3 points at the 4 minute mark in the 4th quarter. That is pathetic.

Looks like Teague is stepping up so far. 3 dunks already!

The problem with the D League is that the Hawks have no control over his coaching or playing time down there.

The only thing I've seen so far from the Hawks that excites me is that they are winning games on the road. They still have a lot to prove though.

Selling the Hawks and having them move to Vegas would probably hurt the ASG when they want to sell Phillips Arena. Why wouldn't these people buy a team that isn't as connected to the arena they play in?

He's right, the players have talent and will get better but they will only get so good in their current roles. Marvin might have a lot of talent and can be a good #2, but is a horrible #5 option, especially on offense. Horford is not a center. Smith is better playing next to an offensively talented center even though he can still be very productive with Horford. JJ is as good as it gets at his current role. A lot of you guys want to blame Woody, but we were not winning that match-up versus Orlando. They had two distinctive advantages and used them to the maximum.

Woody is supposed to be the one setting up a system to put the players in the best roles possible. Instead, he ignores their strengths if it doesn't fit what he wants.

Most teams over the cap aren't in the JJ market. The Knicks, Bulls, Clippers, Nets, Rockets, and Heat are under the cap.

I think all of those except the Heat (and maybe the Knicks?) can only sign one max contract, if someone wants to get two, the second would have to be in a sign and trade.

The 5 turnovers by JJ is unacceptable.

He needs to understand that he may have to be less of a facilitator in this series, and more of a scorer. He only had 6 shot attempts in the 1st half. That's not going to be enough in this series. He's going to have to be waaaay more aggressive than what he played tonight.

Get your shots up JJ and be more aggressive. Less dribbling, and trust your jumper . . because with D-Howard lurking in the lane, the floater may not be the way to go.

Not really, the Hawks were supposed to beat Milwaukee. They were missing their best player and the Hawks have the better player at every position plus 6th man, except PG, with huge advantages in the paint.

To me woodson outcoached Skiles in 4 of the 7 games- thats enough for me. Woodson was far superior in the first 2 games and he once again was easily better in the last 2 games. I don't think the messiah could coach the Hawks to where they SHOULD beat the magic- the matchups are just brutal.

Winning isn't the same as outcoaching. The Hawks and Bucks are not equal in talent. Why do you recognize that with the Hawks-Magic series, but not the Hawks-Bucks?

That's the problem. Woodson doesn't know how to use his bench, regardless of who is on it. He only has one gameplan and can't modify it to fit the opponent and their gameplan.
