  1. What do you guys think about this idea? Atlanta Receives: Andre Miller Phily's #21 pick Philadelphia Receives: Shelden Williams Josh Childress Tyronn Lue With #3 we draft Horford With #11 we take PG (Conley, Crit, Law) With #21 we take Splitter Atlanta: PG - Miller/Claxton/Crit G - Johnson/Stoudamire/Crit F - M.Williams/Smith F - Smith/Horford/Jones C - ZaZa/Splitter/Horford/Jones Maybe we could trade the expiring contracts of AJ & Wright for an early 2nd round pick to get a backup SG like Arron Afflalo or D.J Strawberry. I would think that a lineup of Miller/Johnson/Smith/Horford/Splitter could potentially be pretty fierce defensively. Philadelphia: (With the Duke Trifecta at PF) PG - Law/Lue/Green SG - Igoudala/Korver/Green SF - Childress/Korver/Carney PF - S.Williams/McRoberts/Randolph C - Dalembert/Hunter/Randolph Just a thought.
  2. I agree with Amishboy. I heard the part of the interview where he mentioned the 3 "unknown" surgeries and he definitely didn't mention a specific player nor did he imply that it was Deng. He was very non-specific.
  3. What do you guys think about trading Speedy, Shelden, Childress & #3 pick for Pau Gasol? Atlanta unloads Speedy's contract and get an upper tier All-Star PF/C. I think he can definitely play center in the Eastern conference at an All-star level. Memphis gets 2 solid role player starters/6th men in Shelden and Childress, the off chance that Speedy has a moderately healthy (somewhat productive) season, and another solid early pick in a deep draft. Plus, they unload an unhappy player who they have been looking to trade. With #11 we get the best PG available (Law/Crit most likely, I lean toward Crittenton, but I'm a Tech guy) Law or Crit are big enough to allow Salim to play some off-gaurd, as well as play off-guard themselves. With Joe playing 40 minutes a night, this probably isn't a big need, but he could also move over to play some SF. PG - Law/Crit, Lue, A.Johnson SG - J.Johnson, Stoudamire, Law/Crit SF - M.Williams, Smith, J.Johnson PF - Smith, Gasol, Jones C - Gasol, Zaza, Wright I think that this is a pretty well balanced team that should be able to get out and run, but also have a good inside/out game in the half court with Gasol & Joe. Defense is mostly about effort and this team is certainly athletic enough that with the right coaching/motivation, could be a very good defensive team. If Marvin and Josh keep developing and the PG we pick pans out, I think that there is definite potential with this lineup to win the East within 2-3 seasons, and then it's just a matter of having a few shots go our way against one of the juggernauts in the west. Of course, that's 3 big If's. Short of a true top 5 player/superstar, I don't know if we could hope for better.
