LD is solid, not great. He makes really poor roster/lineup changes that ill never understand. Then he will follow up with a brilliant play call from a timeout. Games like tonight make you wonder what his strategy is. There were a lot of players like Mack that got quality minutes. You've gotta wonder if he's playing Mack and Scott to see if they will be able to compete in the playoffs. Or if he is resting his other players.

Congrats. Lots of outsiders thought this season would be a waste when we dealt JJ and Marvin. Keep it up!

That's expected from the NBA. What a does a hawks win do? A lakers win is more valuable from every angel for the league

Hasn't done anything. Not sure why we didn't sign Pargo. Pargo looked better in his 10-day than Mack. Pargo knows the system and players. Mack looks scared.

Korver will likely take less money to play elsewhere like CHI or UTAH. He obviously likes the environment of arenas that are packed.

Regardless if this was true LD is still not the right fit. Props to him for benching Smoove though. I really like Smoove but his play recently has driven me bannanas. So inconsistent it's frustrating.

Its always been this way.

This stretch of poor performance has proved that LD is not the right coach for this team. This is the second time this year where the Hawks have struggled. LD is the one responsible for getting his players fired up and motivated. Our energy has been non-existent on the floor. Would really like to see what Bob Bender could do as the Head Coach. Heck! Give Dominque a chance. This year is a good opportunity to take a small risk like that. There are several former Hawks that would be great coaches.
It is time for this team to move on from the quite personality of Larry Drew. Bring in some new energy!

You can't compare CHI to ATL. Chicago is one of the biggest NBA markets right there with NY, LA, MIA, and BOS. There's a reason there is ESPN Chicago and not ESPN Atlanta.

hawks passes on doc rivers? When did that happen?I hope Ferry makes a splash on his coaching hire, and it better be a former point guard. Still can't believe the Hawks passed on Doc Rivers.
-
great point! Agree 100%. Offense went dead because poor drawn p plays down the stretch. Doc is tough to beat though. He is one of the best.Sorry brother, the offense changed down the stretch to an isolation offense with josh in the high post. That was Drew's decision.
-
Not true...it was Larry Drew that ran the offense through Josh Smith in over time so he is the blame sorry.
They were set plays that used smoove as the primary passer on the floor. Should have been using Teague or Harris. Cs had no answer for Teague. Missed opportunity by LD not utilizing TeagueDrew did not make the turnovers. Drew did not make 1 pass or 1 turnover. You have to go with what got you there. Josh will get you there........Josh just presses too much in crunch time.

Once again, I truly feel that the final passes down the stretch to the basket were pas drawn up by LD. Doc is one of the bests coaches in the league and had his team prepped well.
-
agreed. At that point one of the guards should have stepped up. Where was korver or Harris? Why were they so quite tonight? Those turnovers were horrific. Truly unnecessary.

I love the hawks but why should espn follow us? Our fans are pathetic. We can barely sell tickets and they have posted one of the best records in the NBA the pat few years. When opposing teams like the heat, lakers, celtics come to town there are more away team fans than home fans.

tonight he had some really bad turnovers. However he was also a major contributor to the comeback. Without his second half performance the Hawks would not have been in position to win. Josh almost had a triple double. Not sure if he thinks too much about the plays that LD draws up and then just assumes they will work. That appeared to be the case the final few minutes with his passing. Is Josh a liability at crunch time? Big Time!

thats like a sweetwater. Most of the other beers will run you $6+Spread that out over the whole year, unless you want to cancel cable in the off-season, every year. Plus, what kind of beer are you drinking for $5?
-
he shut Kobe down on 3-4 drives. Kobe clearly traveled and got away with that. There was no foul on josh.Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. And it is my opinion that I think he is a liability in crunch time

Find a comfortable local bar to watch the games. I bet it costs less than cable
2-3 games a week. Come in at 2-3 beers a game. $15 before tax and tip for the three beers, yikes! No way is that less than cable

Love how this post comes after last nights game. Josh made two brilliant passes down in the "crunch time." Horford missed a point blank layup. If you think Josh is too blame for that no shot, think about the pass. The pass led too far and almost went out of bounds. Try actually observing the team as a whole rather than singling out one individual. Josh played well down the stretch.

First off, I'm extremely disappointed that the NBA doesn't have a rule in place that will fine players for talking about playing for other teams in the middle of the season. I'm sick of NBA players on teams saying they want to be a Laker, Bull or Heat in the middle of the season. That should be saved until free agency.
Now that Korver has openly announced he would be open to returning to Chicago, there's a slim chance he will be in a Hawks uniform next year. Korver is starting to excel in this system and fills a role on this team. Realistically if the Bulls make Korver an offer why would he stay with Atlanta? He enjoyed playing in the Mad House and Rose returns next year. That team is going to be exciting again. In fact, someone like Korver would most likely take less money to play for a prestigious team such as Chicago.
Mark my word, Korver will be a Chicago Bull next year since Rose was a huge fan of his. Too bad because Korver is a good player...

Larry Sanders is a step back from Smoove. 8 Rebs and 8 PPG is nothing to take to the bank

the draft is awful this year. What would be tempting about this?Amare/Shumpert/1st for Josh/Morrow ??That would be tempting despite the contract.

It was clear from the beginning he didn't want to be here. Moving from one of the best fan bases in sports with the bulls to one of the worst in sports in the Hawks was not easy. I've enjoyed having him on the team. If we make some big moves who knows. M
